Two types of P1 fans. The ones that want to see Matt happy, and the ones that want to see him go through the 5 stages of grief. No in between.
There is another.
Can't it be both?
Real f1 fans pick the second option, and ferrari fans pick the first option
Grief squad represent
The best path through those stages involve Matt finding hope after stage 3 and then having to start over.
The in between exists. It’s ferrari fans who want to see Matt suffer 💀
Looking forward for Matt's happiness when Charles finally wins something
Looking forward to even more crushing disappointment when either Leclerc or Ferrari screw it up.
another Pirelli Trophy...:P (hopefully not :P
Hopes Hurts
Looking forward to Max winning EVERY race this season and really pissing these guys off LOL.
😜he may be too old to apricate it though...
Honestly can't wait for more streams tommy's sass and matt breakdowns!!!
If you know where to look up and down the field, there's always something to look forward to in a Formula One season.
I'm a HUGE Lando fan, but it wouldn't surprise me if Oscar wins a race before Lando.
Wouldn't make a difference to their talent though would it, it would take a slightly odd race for McLaren to win so there's just as much chance that lando doesn't get the best of luck
I mean, he kind of already did
@@illbeV. If we're gonna count all kinds of races, we might as well start counting karting and what not... or F2. Obviously, a full grand prix is what we're talking about.
@@Dyils what a ridiculous take
I'm kind of worried we're gonna see a 2016 Spanish grand prix scenario where McLaren just happens to screw lando on the strategy and Oscar gets a big race win as he continues to improve.
Matt: Its gonna happen!
Everyone else: NOT in a Ferrari
I think as Matt too
Shanghai’s coming back, so that’s going to be exciting. More than Shanghai, though, I’d want Sepang to return to the calendar. That track is legendary. As a Williams fan, I hope they can take the next step and move upward on the table.
Sepang not being on the calendar is a damn shame.
I have the last Malaysian GP at Sepang from 2017 recorded on my PVR and I still go back and rewatch it now and then. It's a great track, it would be a welcome return to the calendar.
Istanbul too.
I miss the almost gauronteed wet weekends at Sepang.
@@jiboo6850, oh, man, how I miss that epic turn 8 at full throttle…
Thinking we're overlooking Merc and James Allison with a clean sheet of paper and a bunch of pictures of the RB19. Yeah, MCL, and RB for sure, but Merc might come up a little, if not, it'll be delicious listening to the LH44 meltdowns on the radio.
MV gets WDC #4.
Idc who your favorite driver is, if/when LeClerc wins a world championship with Ferrari, everyone will unanimously be genuinely happy for Matt
Sorta newish fan from the US here.. just wanna say you guys make F1 so much more enjoyable (not that it isn’t great on its own) but I don’t watch a practice, quali, race, without watching your videos first. Your content and F1 go together so seamless and entertaining that I wouldn’t want to watch one without the other. Keep the great work coming!
I had a really stressful year in 2023 and your podcast really helped me smile and get through some tough times. Thanks so much lads. Can't for more laughs and more Ferrari induced pain for Matt x
I'm looking forward to Matt's depression after 5 races😂
You really think it's gonna take that long?
It’ll happen in the first race
@@trevorhintz1290nah, testing session is enough.
@@trevorhintz1290 Race once, FP1.
@@imaner76Ferrari damages the car’s unloading them from the truck or hauler or whatever they carry the cars in. Fairly new to F1 so not too familiar with what the cars arrive to the track in.
I’ll always be excited for a F1 season, but after 2023 my excitement is definitely at an all time low. But you know what they say, expect the worst and you can’t be dissatisfied
Matt remembers me in my youth, in 1981; where i was really a Ferrari Giles fan😥😥
Since RB didn't bring any major updates since quite early last season, the other teams could only copy RB's old stuff. Other than Merc or Ferrari comming up with something of their own, I think the gap RB has over the rest of the field will once again increase. However it might be a nice fight for P2 between Ferrari, Mercedes, maybe McL and Perez.
Well. They tried at least...
Congratulations Max Verstappen for a perfect season.
And for killing Formula 1 in the process.
People might say that "domination is a part of the sport" but when have we ever seen it *THIS* bad?
If anything, domination has been getting worse over the decades. Back in the old days, drivers going back to back were rare even if they were the best combination.
Come the late 80's early 90's, and McLaren + Senna were almost unbeatable. Then came Ferrari + Schumacher which was arguably worse; then came Red Bull + Vettel which was almost as bad...
Then Mercedes and Hamilton happened for nearly 8 consecutive years where there was almost no-one other than his own teammate who could challenge him.
Now we are at a point where the fastest car and driver combination just cannot be beaten full stop.
What do you think the next evolution of dominance is after that?
Season clean-sweeps becoming the norm is NOT healthy for any sport.
There needs something to be put in place to stop this from happening. I mean, why can't their be a rule that the winning driver is either forced on the sideline for at least a year or has to switch teams? Might be aggressive, but it would at least shake up the field instead of making people fall into complacent boredom.
@@greatsageclok-roo9013 Cry about it, don't like it? Leave the sport then.
Maybe because the winner should be able to defeat his title? Its the job of the other teams and drivers to improve, not to nerf the winners (which already happens as the winner has a lower budget starting next year)@@greatsageclok-roo9013
@@greatsageclok-roo9013 I don't think that MV/RB dominating is the problem. The biggest problem I see is that since the start of the hybrid era, wins and podiums were mostly dominated by RBR, Merc and Ferrari. With noteworthy exceptions of course, but these three teams had at least a podium every year.
No matter what happened, these three teams seemed pretty invincible, always finding their way back to fighting for the big points. Even after Ferrari's alleged cheating, RB's horrible 2015 season or Merc's failed start of the groung-effect era. How the wins and podiums are distributed amongst these three, hardly matters. Hopefully, the budget cap and combined the rule change scheduled for 2026 can disrupt this order.
I'd even say there's some kind of "morbid curiosity" about witnessing a team or even driver achieve a perfect season.
@@QwoaXI will go with that, because ever since 2009 that has been the case. Especially when you look at which teams have won either/or title... *2 in the past 15 years.*
Before then, you would on average have 4 teams winning either drivers or constructors throughout that decade. Not to mention that periods of dominance were few and far between, and the ones we got were mostly short-lived. (If we don't count Schumi-Ferrari and Senna-McLaren, that is.)
The moment a team other than Red Bull or Mercedes take the overall thing, hopefully it's a sign that the problem has been fixed...
...
Last thing we need is for it to usher in the same problem all over again.
A Danny Ric podium would be a dream true!! I would be more elated than if Matt witnesses Charles win a race!
I am so pumped for this season. I've got tickets to the Canadian Grand Prix. It will be my first live race
In hindsight, this is a period of a legend showing his craft.
Maybe not exciting as prospect for the results, but this is one of most impressive periods in F1-history.
Just like people nowadays are glad that they have experienced Schumacher prime driving.
Imagine Alphatauri essentially brings a rebadged rb19 and the "top teams" are still not able to match them even with a relatively weaker driver lineup 😑
Yuki is understandable but you calling Danny ric weak? lol
@@waleedalhassan1537 compared to lewis george charles and carlos(sometime), Yeah, Current daniel is weak.
@@waleedalhassan1537 Considering that after Lando owned him in such an embarrassing way, McLaren paid him to get out of the team... there are enough arguments
More content from you two comes to mind 🙌
Excited not only for the F1, but for the content you guys will put out in the year, lets goo!!!!
Another thing to be excited for (hopefully) is Pirelli improving the tires, so degradation is less of an issue.
Matt, Matt, Matt I hope so much you are right about Ferrari and Charles Leclerc. Come on make it happen
8:51 Matt don’t crush my dreams of Alonso winning a race. We let you believe that Ferrari will be a competent team let us believe in Alonso.
0:19 I’m looking forward to Matt taking a step closer to the razor!
I am excited to see how often Carlos Sainz is going to bang his head against a wall trying to get Ferrari to listen to him.
GOOD PREDICTIONS MATT!!
I'm full of hopium (or copium) for AM to at least start the season as strong if not stronger than they did in '23
Up the Squarespace 🙌
1:14 i'm looking forward to Vershtappen crushing these naive hopes at the very first race 😂
I believe there's so much you can develop a car under a set of regulations. Once RB hits that ceiling, other teams will catch up and we will have a competitive season.
This year (and the previous) we have the most unluckiest drivers in a single season, there is Hülkenberg with no podiums, Charles with worst pole-to-win ratio, Lando who is just not getting his first win and most podiums, Checo who took the longest to get his first pole and win, Carlos with the most races before a podium and so on
I for one, want to see Matt happy, ecstatic in fact. I'd love for him to be correct in his WDC prediction
Go Tommy, i love your intelligent thoughts and comments
For Charles Leclerc being a title contender, do I take an appointment with a psychologist for Matt after the first 5 races?
Oh it’s good to see P1 in my feed again
Matt and Tommy should predict how many people will appear in Twitch for Matt's shock reactions
I’m going to my first ever F1 race this year at Silverstone and I just have a feeling that Lando is going to get his first win there.
Man all I want is like the past seasons like 2018,2019 with the dominant driver to have maximum only 5 races in a row to win and then to see some other drivers winning races and apart in difference like past seasons to have some close races especially in the midfield at least and for Ferrari as a fan I don't have hopes honestly but I would love to see them in the podiums more often and at least 2-3 wins during the season
I think the points should be more spread out, giving the back part of the grid something to fight for
11:27 also mekies becoming the team principal after some years spent in Ferrari
3:31 “Matt not a fanboy Gallagher.” PUT IT ON A SHIRT
I want to see Matt giving us the finger for all we've put him through in 2023.
Go Charles.
Max only won by 10 seconds because he stopped pushing when he got out in front because it is not smart to over use the tires if there is a safety car. If you rewatch races it wasn’t that he couldn’t pull out a bigger lead it seems like the team gave him target times once he was out in front by 10-20 seconds.
Ngl i think the rb20 will be an absolute killer of a car. The rb19 was already crazy but imagine a rb19 on steroids.
I gave the video a like just because I love Matt's confidence and enthusiasm in his Leclerc for WDC prediction 😂😂
Matt is so me. EVERY SINGLE YEAR I say our boy charles will win the wdc, BUT HEAR ME OUTT, THIS WILL BE HIS YEARRRRRRRRRR.
I'm just excited for another season of Top-Class P1 content 😅
Can’t wait for a fun 2024
Matt, you are the only reason I am still a Ferrai Fanboy, without you I would not have hope for next year
03:18 I said "charles leclerc" aloud at the exact moment you did. I just assumed that would be the answer lol
6:10 Can you imagine when the car is capable of actually fighting in the races for the wins? This "Pole/race wins" ratio will become even more irrelevant because those poles will lead to Charles actually winning those races.
From some of the rumours I've heard about RB, this year's car is again gonna be extremely good. So the other teams really need to produce something really special to be able to challenge RB/Max.
Bro its mid jan, what ever rumors you've heard are mostly bogus or speculation
I gave a like to the video at 3:25 😂 I like the positivity
I’m looking forward to more Matt pain
Looking for that 4peat🎉
I have a few predictions for this season
Mercedes I think they may be better fighting for wins maybe?
Williams I think they may also be up there
I actually got a new Charles Leclerc shirt coming very soon for my birthday (31st January) but Ferrari this year i think they may be in the fight.
But I also have a strange suspicion that Lewis may retire although he has a contract for 2025.
Only the contracts of Verstappen, Stroll and the Mercedes & McLaren boys are logged in beyond the coming season (as of now). So looking forward to silly season, especially because of the second Red Bull seat 👀🍿
The Red Bull when driven by Max Verstappen had at least another second per lap in hand last year. There was never any hope of anyone catching him, and no one will catch him this year unless someone on the grid manages to gain three seconds over last year while keeping the tires alive for 60% of an average race distance.
I hate this, but it seems likely.
Could we see the most seat changes between seasons in F1 history
I love the “Matt ‘not a fanboy’ Gallagher” subtitle!
Is that a quadrant hoodie I see there Matt?🤩
Tommo is the squarespace guy, boys!
Lets cry about the 2021 ending for a year
Another year of Red Bull & Verstappen domination..
But let's see if Ferrari can get their strategies up to par this year..
Edit: How does Tommy get younger over time?! Some kind of timelord or something?
look if they change 95% of the car, if the remaining 5% is unreliable engine, horrendous tyre wear, poor race pace, twitchy and unpredictable aero idk what i am gonna do.
Hopefully Norris will be the first McLaren driver to win a GP Race after 2 years!
Im more excited for F2. I feel like it could have some great moments. And a lot of overtakes
I think if Lando is to win this season he'll need to get it done in the starting end of the season, as I'm sure as the season goes on it'll become harder for him to get that win if Red Bull are anywhere near as good as last year.
I think everyone is going to show up with an RB19 clone and RB is gonna show up with the RB3000
Hey lads great vid once again, i’d love to hear your take on the 2024 FIA regulation adjustments regarding engine components, aero components, race safety changes (Baku, Qatar, Vegas), and other points after such a hectic season.
RB will still be out front by a large margin. Aston and McLaren are the only ones sticking with their (pretty successful) designs from last year and will round out the top 3, Ferrari and Merc are going to take a while to sort out their clean slate cars. Racing Bulls using RB parts will be strong out of the gate. Probably top 5
I'm expecting Red Bull to comfortably win still. But the room for improvement is larger for the chasing pack, so should be closer at least
Another year of Max's domination.
Another year of Ferrari f*cking it up.
Another year of Merc fanboys (not fans, there's a difference) talking about cost cap and Abu Dhabi 2021.
Another year of Norris not winning anything.
Another year of every Alonso's positive being presented as greatest thing ever and every Stroll's negative presented as worst thing ever.
Another year of "Checo needs to be replaced" comments.
Another year of everyone hating on Ocon.
Another year of everyone saying how Albon needs to be in a top car.
Another year of everyone whining how F1 is a joke for not letting Andretti in.
And, finally, something new - Stake jokes.
i was only a Ferrari fan while kimi and mostly seb were driving for them. i will give Matt that, he hasn't wavered even after one of their worst seasons.. really takes it on the chin as it were.
Looking forward to F2 next year, we’re in for a banger
2025?

I always liked Sauber, but renaming to Steak F1 Team brings that feeling to another level 😂
The front name hasn’t included Sauber for a while. The name on the license still has Sauber as far as I know.
Have you seen my mommy?
Was one of my favourite episodes of David tenant's Dr Who portrayal.
Dont you have to agree.
Obviously, to satisfy Helmut the new name for Alpha Tauri should be Racing Blue Bulls, if they use a B spec. Red Bull car.
At this point, i think if Matt ever jumps ship from Ferrari to rooting for Red Bull, it will be the year where Red Bull either doesn't win a race, or is disqualified from the entire season like Mclaren in 2007!
*2007
i really wish for closer racing and a different winner here and there, but the reality is what it is, we might not have that if 2023 is something to go by
Always great to see your optimism but I think we all know 2024 is already won. That car and that flying Dutchman is too good. Hands down the best car ever built maybe 😂. Still I will watch lol
Last year was the most dominant from a drivers perspective. Not from a teams perspective. Compare the delta from RB to the rest of the field and the 2016 Mercedes with it's field.
The moment Matt mentioned Charles Leclerc's name I was in hysterics.
OMG just this morning I asked you guys to put out a video! We're dying here! No F1 arghhh! And 4 hours later!! A video! Thanks guys! Tomorrow would have been okay too... 😜😳😂🏎️

I love how Matt is always positive at the start of the year hahahah
Reason #1 Tommy’s perm
Trying to hype up a season when we know who will win the championship before it even starts. I'll get it out the way now, Congrats Max.
Just tell us a few years ago, that a car besides Ferrari, RB & Merc would get on the podium by pace without many dnfs. Last year Alpine, Aston Martin, McLaren. Think Max hides, how awesome F1 is developing
Matt "I jinxed the Ferrari" Gallagher making his prediction 🤣✌
Tommy looks about 12yrs old with his current hair style. 🙂
F1 Academy supporting a number of F1 races, that's exciting for. Some race weekends, I will not see much daylight, I am afraid ;-)

I am always excited by magic of F1 for the last 40 years.e
Matty just loves making content about his love for Charles :D
Time and experience? Lando has been in since Ric was at Renault. Major glizzard wizard over there.
Can't wait to see Norris meltdown when Piastri gets his first F1 race win before him. 😈
Am I the only one not liking the looping background music? Good to see you guys back though.
What are your thoughts on the fact that Red Bull already are working on their 2025 car
