- WHO YOU GONNA CALL??
When you need electronics to run all the stuff in your super accurate movie replica, the answer is always Haltech.
It was an easy call for Nathan, President of Haltech and self confessed "car nerd". He loves movie cars and already has a Back to the Future replica DeLorean - and was fortunate enough to bring another of his childhood icons to life with this replica Ecto-1.
The Caddy ambulance/hearse is already huge vehicle, but when coupled with the movie props this this couch on wheels tips the scales at over 3000KG! So naturally, Nathan plonked in a built, supercharged LS with matching driveline.
Go on a full tour with our resident tech guru Scott to see how the Haltech system controls more than just the engine.

Can you drop the builders info in the description too?
That siren sound is iconic!
That is awesome! Imagine the possibilities for controlling electrical functions in something like the Delorean Time Machine!
Flux capacitors and all!
Great scott!
RIght in the childhood! Epic build!
I absolutely love that car thanks for showing this on the channel. 👍
It's always a pleasure to watch Scott explain something!
Awesome video, we won’t be crossing any streams 🤣
I love it, it is one of my favorite movie.
Tuning Fork, legend Scotty.
Great Haltec Video Scott. Would love to have seen it strapped down on the Haltec Dyno. Sadly It was too big to fit on it. Loved the combo, ambo/hearse.

It's so big you look normal size!
All the info is really cool, but we want to see and hear it run and drive, guys 😢
Jebus, could you maybe redo all the panels in aluminium or something less heavy?
Wondering if the dash display colours can be changed?
Of course they can
Hey Scotty
Just say to yourself. I ain't afraid of no ghost.
"Dont cross the streams" ...... But what if we need to reverse the particle flow? Then what, Scotty???
A flash engine in THAT car , like putting lipstick on a pig.
Cadillac didn’t build the hearse/ambulance bodies though? They basically sent out a bare chassis with just a front clip and the other Cadillac specific parts in a box strapped to the bare chassis, the 4 coach builders (who built on the caddy chassis), the aforementioned miller-meteor, superior, sayers and Scoville and Eureka would then complete the build on the bare chassis with their own parts and the remaining Cadillac parts in the box sent out with the chassis. I think they really should of researched into pro car history before making this video, there are a couple of books by Thomas McPherson that cover the history of these interesting cars
I think the guys over at turning rust made it better with a cummins under the hood of theirs
No they didn't :p
@@haltech hey dont get me wrong love me a charged LS... and tuning fork is an absolute legend... but also love seeing big diesels put where they shouldn't be haha
i dont think horse and buggies were on the road in the late 50s.
I was saying the same thing! 😂😂
