Wish Apple would just give to option to BLOCK unknown callers, not just silent them. Still notifies you. That’s the only thing I miss about a Samsung. But I’ve been Apple since iPhone 6. Still wish they would change it.
Blocking unknowns you can make a automation for that or just make a focus and block unknowns meaning only contacts will call you which isn’t recommended you’ll never know what happens

I sometimes gets one where they make it sound like they are from a known post company and wants me to click a link to pay money in order to receive a package, but it's spam or virus so I never click. Plus I did not await any package and had not ordered anything. Just dont see a way to block them from texting me. I dont want to set it to block numbers that are not in my contacts, I find that to agressive.
Having the government charge a 2 cent fee per call made after 100 calls would end this problem. Anyone that has a problem with this can find a legitimate life.

For instance from candidate "A" all the calls are sent with the same area code and the first 3 digits of the phone number. So if there was a button to block and report (area code) 123-**** wouldn't it eliminate most robo calls? Thanks

She has dementia and was getting upwards of 8-10 calls a day, but once I got her on the do not call list they mostly stopped and then I clicked on silence the calls that weren't in her contacts too. I'm debating putting an app on her phone that would help with this as well, but for now I just wanted to say thanks.

It's very worth blocking spam callers. It can take a couple of months, but they do eventually stop calling you. If they're not getting anywhere with you, they won't just go on and on coming up with new phone numbers. I used to get spam calls every single day, multiple times a day. Now it's pretty much zero spam calls.
C'mon guys, do we really trust the government with anything anymore? Do you really think by going to that gov website and filling in your info will really prevent you from getting spam calls?

None of my scammer calls come from "Unkown" numbers. But all of my medical doctors & specialists do. I have them programmed in my contacts with the # that I push/dial to reach them. Because of that, I don't think this will work for me, will it?

Yes using more than one call blocker can cause issues. One call blocker can block certain numbers while the other doesn’t. Each call block app uses different sources for finding spam call/text numbers. I have found that the best call block apps use crowdsourcing. Meaning they rely on their users to report known spam numbers which I have found to be a lot more accurate.
They call me from National Disability Center or from US networks solutions. They even call me wanting to discuss about a Life Alert. It’s so annoying…. Then they ask if I have Medicare A or B …..

They don’t do that incase a number phones in an emergency like the hospital or an important call you wouldn’t get often
Then they can include both functions. One option to block unknowns. A second option to silence unknowns. Everyone’s happy.

I used to assign a ringtone-‘silent’- to all junk calls before the ability to block them.
The do not call registry DOES NOT WORK
The phone carriers know who the robo callers are and do nothing. If the FCC started fining the carriers for allowing this it would stop.

Answer spam call.. Immediately mute and wait for them to disconnect. Within 3-5 days your spam calls will cut down to almost zero.

Problem here. I have an iPhone XR and I use Verizon. I don’t see a “recent” tab in Settings/Phone. Is that because my phone is old?

You speak too fast which makes it hard to follow. Good presentation, but had to quit as needed to listen over an over again to repeat on my phone
