Have you encountered any of these scams? Let us know in the comments below!
If you're looking for just settings to change, I recommend starting at 8:55.
If a name doesn’t come up when someone calls me, I let it go to voicemail or it’s a scam
When you google Apple support the first number that comes up is a scam number
Apple needs to stop them.
It's not just apple phones that get these scams. I work in aged care and I've met so many elderly people that have fallen for these scams in one form or another, it's really sad. I advise them to never tap on a link in an SMS from someone they don't know personally. Even if they do know them, give them a call to make sure they actually sent the Text and the link.
Another reason I never answer calls from "Unknown Numbers" is I got sick of answering calls and the person on the other end would just hang up. I looked into it and found that it's very possible these calls were just to check if the number was actually active in someone's phone. They'd compile a list of active phones and sell them to marketers.
The FTC does NOTHING! I've reported the family phones and all of us continue to get unwanted calls. These were reported to the FTC "years" ago!!!! I've actually submitted the request at least two times.
This is a very easy fix. The US congress should pass a law allowing a person or an organization to collect money if a person or an organization can identify and prove to the court that the originator of a robocall (even if they spoofing the phone numbers). If this law is passed, phone companies such as ATT, Verizon, etc... and highly technical individual can make millions and hence the scam and robocalls will not survive the heavy collecting fines/fees ang cease their operation.
@@user-uk8pg7js4w I’m not sure what you mean. I’m intrigued, but your grammar leaves me in the lurch. You left your primary thought dangling in the wind. (2nd sentence.). Please clarify.
@@UTubeQu1che551 Currently, if you receive continuous spam/robocalls and even if you have a technical skill and can identify the operator of the spam/robocall, there is nothing you can do but block them and notify relevant authorities. There should be a new law that 1) requires phone companies when requested by an individual to disclose and turn over all technical data traces of the spam/robocall 2) specifies a scientific mechanism to identify the spam/robocall in front of the court of law and allow individual to sue the operator of the spam/robocall for violation, fines, and restitution. You may never receive another spam/robocall again for the reason that phone companies will use this new law to sue and collect money left and right from these operator of the spam/robocall.
@@user-uk8pg7js4w Yeah, except if the call originates from a non US country, which most do.
Send them a email and say you’re doing a documentary on them .
An Apple Service Rep proactively calling a customer to help them??? Nobody would fall for that!
I just had a scam yesterday from some I don't know asking for me to pay them one dollare through pay pal. Didn't fall for and have put in a scam complaint to pay pal. Thanks for your great info.
Always appreciate your very informative posts
Thanks for all of the great videos and information! I have used several of your tips and seen some improvement in a whole bunch of areas to include scams and spam.
i deleted the true caller and phone apps before fully activated because there was no easily visible free version and they were pushing a free trial period and then about $10 per every 7 days UK . 🙁
Great video and very helpful. Thank you for posting.
As always, thanks for compiling this info.
So appreciate you ❤keep posting
Waited for this Dude 😮thanks
No one is exempt from becoming a victim of deception, in one form or another.
Not me lol 🤣🤣🤣 its so fuckin obvious that these scams are scams like the postal delivery text scam or the fake text scam saying did u make this charge with your credit card its all fuckin obvious and i dunno how people still fall for all these bullshit scams 🤣🤣🤣 scams started happening in the year 2015 and its 2024 like come on get with the fuckin program and stop getting scammed 🤣🤣🤣
I'm afraid I have to disagree. All it takes is basic common sense to avoid being scammed. The very fact that religion still plays a part in people's lives proves there is no lack of gullible people in the world.
Love these guys!
glad you are here -
Excellent as usual. Great videos!
Thank you for doing this video!
Amazing job!! Thank you!!
I enjoyed watching this video as usual the content was super. Thanks for your help.
Great video-Thanks for sharing all the Tips-l appreciate it👍
Thanks for the video. Is the other guy not a part of the videos anymore?
Thanks for the Headsup.
Thank you!!!!
Thank you!
How about a video on getting rid of political calls emails and texts.🤬🤬
I’ll second that. I love to vote. But hate the polls and texts.
Thank you for your help with all things iPhone. I get these texts and callers all the time, especially about not paying tolls. I live in the Australian outback with only dodgy satellite internet when the skies are clear and haven’t driven on a toll road in 25 years. I’d be happy to drive on sealed road instead of gravel/dirt! So they didn’t fool me. But thanks to you I also never click on links friends have sent either because they’re not safety savvy. It really annoys them but tough luck! Several have been scammed. I can only hope I don’t.
Thank you soooooo much❤
Thank you
Most of these setting I do not have on my iPhone. Like the voicemail or the message separation options. Didn’t realise our phones in the UK are not the same as the ones back home I. The states. 😢
I got the same toll scam message, and I almost fell for it. for maybe 1 second.
Thanks. Hope it works
Thank you for giving me directions more slowly lol sometimes you guys talk so fast. I can’t keep up. I appreciate it.
Thank you‼️ Do you know how to restore the items that used to be on the watch when you scrolled up from watch face. For example, battery, ring/silent, ding your phone, etc. Thank you‼️
My wife's garbage iPhone gets 25-35 spam calls a day now since we moved. None from where we live but all over the country. Pretty much every state. Getting tired of deleting the garbage as well and marking it as spam.
And it’s the iPhone’s fault?
Your wife is obviously giving her info out on garbage websites. Then they share with other spammers. It’s not thee phone’s fault 😂😂
Silliness. It isn’t the phone - it’s your wife or the mobile carrier.
Is there a way to delete the blocked call numbers. Can you do a segment on that? I have tons and the list gets longer.
You can delete the blocked numbers, but then the numbers you deleted are no longer blocked. I have hundreds of numbers blocked. No harm in keeping them blocked.
I fell for a flash sale/fake shop scam the other week. It popped up at 6am. Thankfully I only spent £9something, but had to change bank details 😂 I avoid my phone until I’m fully awake now 😬
Is live voicemail available in Australia on iPhone?
Note: Live Voicemail is available only in English in the U.S. and Canada, excluding Puerto Rico.
My husband keeps getting spam calls from Europe! It’s driving us crazy.
All the phone companies could stop 90% with the flip of a switch, literally. The reason they won’t is because some people still pay by the minute for cell phone usage and every time they say hello to a junk call “cha-ching” that company makes a few cents. And with a half a million junk calls a minute that adds up.
Can someone explain this comment further?
@@kryssygee4814 Nobody pays by the minute anymore.
Hi David. I have an android phone. are you doing a video for android users as it would be much appreciated. thanks
So the other day I followed along and turned off by your recommendations stuff on my iPhone which was great. However now I can’t no longer track my steps on my watch🤦🏼♀️. So what did I do wrong?
Love the RuneScape reference hahaha
What about messages that say there has been a data leak and suggest you reset certain passwords?
I even sent you guys message the winning. The iPhone 3 months ago I figured it out and never went through the process so they can charge me .
I get annoying texts so I tap the info logo from the text then tap "Block this caller" at the bottom
6:48 Oooh, I had a few of these..... yeah, the ''FBI'' had an international arrest warrant out on me a few times....it was scary at first, but now it is just funny.
I’ve heard of phishing attacks taking advantage of Apple's password reset feature. I’ve also recently had problems with my device wanting my phone to update carrier settings, always after a data wipe…how are criminals able to manipulate phone carrier and apple code to attack devices?
Carrier settings updates are normal and would make sense to pop up after a data wipe - usually that data also gets lost when wiping a phone as well.
Sometimes you don’t have a choice, but to enter a phone number because they want to send you an authentication code. Some websites do not offer an alternative method for authentication such as banks, for example.
Any Apple CarPlay videos what information can we stop them from stealing
When I go to add tru caller to my iPhone permissions, there’s a warning that trucaller will receive text codes from my bank. This concerns me
When anybody calls me with an Indian accent, I hang up.
I need to know how to turn off restricted mode
I got the Norton one today. I don't even have it so I knew it was a scam. SMH
I don’t get the true caller app for free option only for purchase ..
Also hover over email address
1. How would they get your telephone number? Tolls are pay by plate which means they mail you a bill they don’t have you phone number. If you have a pass just go to the app and check if you need to add money
4. Nothing is free.
5. If you didn’t request a reset ignore
10. Again, how did they get your phone number?
Turn on do not disturb but allow contacts. This doesn’t stop them from leaving a message so if it is a good call just add them to contacts and return call. 90% of spammers won’t leave a message.
I use both iPhone and Samsung for different reasons. I get the same amount of spam and robo calls with each.
Is there a similar setting on Android?
I heva that option with live voicemail not in europe 😢
I remember a 'woman' on a dating site who apparently bought and sold things. 'She' messaged me to say she was stuck in customs here in the UK and needed me to send her money so that she could get her items back and sell them so she'd be able to repay me. I didn't believe it so told her my uncle worked in customs so let me know which office she was stuck in and I'd see if he could help out. Needless to say I never heard anything back
Verifying is always a good thing! Good sharp thinking!
Robokiller can be fun. It records the interaction between your chosen joke voice message and the spam caller.
Don’t have “live voicemail” on my iPhone.
Android had phone/Text spam filter for about a year or more in Australia
Tracall is only free for 7 days not Free?
Can someone tell me how the scammers get their hands on the money, what are the banks doing in all this. I can hardly spend my own money without gouing through hoops down at the bank, how do these guys get around all the banking rules we have to abide by.
How about ignore anything that you don't go after
"We made mistake. Make beeg trouble for moose and squirrel."
How about a great robocall/spam app for us po folks with no cost subscriptions.
Don’t have the settings in my iPhone with Swedish operator
Is it necessary to get anti virus for Iphone ?
No
I fell for that with another content creator I cannot believe I did that. I almost almost not quite gave him stuff and this guy was from Nigeria absolutely stupid very scary stuff too not even gonna lie. I’m glad my therapist told me about it at the time I didn’t give them my personal information thank God.
What happened to your video partner? Haven’t seen him in videos lately!
hi Payette Forward
, i would like to do video editing for your content , looking forward to hear from you soon
If you do not know where it came from, DELETE, BLOCK AND REPORT!
the biggest iphone scam is the phone itself 😭
When you google Facebook support a scammer phone number comes up they go as far as helping also giving u there # to call if anymore issues and they go as far as giving a Facebook badge ID also a name that not related to the accent 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
@PayetteForward - I had a text message smishing scam, which had a link in it. I had Siri read new message. Since then I’ve been having several unrecognizable numbers texting me. Did Siri activate that link when reading the message?
Why don’t you click on YOUR email address in the scam email, it also shows who sent it. If the sender hasn’t changed his details the address shown will just be gibberish.
Never send your money or info to ANYONE unless you initiated the connection/transaction. 😊
Never been scammed since I had my iPhone
I've never been scammed online or by phone and I've never owned an iOS device. I get dozens of scam texts and emails each month, but my calls are screened and if the phone says "Caller Unknown" or "Possible Spam" I just don't answer it. Then I wait to see if they leave a message, if they do, I get back to them, if they don't, well it can't have been very important anyway. Sometimes it's not about what device you use, it's about being vigilant and not responding to cold callers and not tapping links that lead you to fake web pages.
Having become the “GET OFF MY LAWN” old man, I trust no one. Silver lining 😂
😂👍 I would say hello but can’t cross your lawn! 😂 I think many of us feel that way these days. I would dig a moat but zoning won’t allow it. 😂
@@jcook2433 A moat‼️😂👍🏻
9:40 We're still lacking Visual Voicemail here, never mind. Live Voicemail
I would subscribe but this might be a scam!!
Apple fixed that issue a while ago.
Trust nothing, trust no one.
That's where google messages are king. Why can't Apple have spam filters and protection
Where is the other chap?
I’m ready to throw away computer and phone. No one is safe it seems.
You just have to be careful who you interact with, and be vigilant about it. Don't tap on links that come from unknown sources. Even if it says it's from a Government department, phone them, using a number you get from another source (not a number that might be in the Text or email) And ask them if they sent the text to you.
@@ChrisAnderson42 thank you, it just gets discouraging when they are constantly trying to steal from us.
That’s where I’m at. I’ve about reached the saturation point trying to stay on top of scams.
Agree! I never do any business online in any way shape or form. My phone is for fun only or for talking to people, not unknowns! I may put something out but nothing coming in anymore. Block, block, block, shut off, shut down and filter, report. The authorities are getting sick of all this too. I think Feds in the US are tired of it too so maybe new policies will help soon.
@@jcook2433 trouble is all the policies in place already and no accountability. They don’t follow the law, the laws are useless unless they want something. They really couldn’t care less about us.
Google messages app on my android flags all spam sms sucks to be a crapple user don't load a sms or email link its common sense
I have Google message app on my Hemorrhoid phone and I still get spam.
@@ReadtheBible88 I am not saying don't get any however any sms I get that is spam gets automatically put into a spam folder
What do you think of these apps that will clean your phone?
I would delete the message .
im watching this and im thinking you look like your back hurts or something hurts
Where’s the other guy ?
Yeah, but who'd want all of their texts routed through a 3rd party?
I trust no one
How to begins @ 9:00 thank me later.
👍👍
