I agree. Literally just rewatched the series and I was hooked from beginning to end. People who say the first half is boring clearly haven't heard of world building/character development
PersonOnEarth How? I though it was a very interesting first episode. The first few minutes were a bit confusing and wasn’t that interesting, but the rest of it was very fascinating. It made me want to learn more about the world and the story, which is exactly what a first episode should do.

steins; gate is in what i would say are the top 3 best animes out of everything i see, but Overlord (the franchise, not just the anime) will always be my favorite. The others are better in so many ways, but yet something about Overlord is so enticing to me. It's got something to do with the world and characters but I still can't place my finger on it
"It is not the best, but it was masterpiece" best is something that watcher decides. Edit: Many people are trying to compare death note, code gaess, naruto etc with steins gate. I mean how can you compare a slice of life and sci fi with those shounen and dark theme show. It is just like comparing math with history books.
There's actually no filler in Steins;Gate. Every episode moves the plot forward in some meaningful way. No way you could cut any of it out without creating problems in an already extremely complicated plot.
@@furiousfusion7890 An ova usually isn’t counted as part of the series proper. You might just as well say that the movie is the last episode. So an ova can’t really be counted as “filler.” Especially when it occurs AFTER the series and is it’s own, self-contained story.
I actually loved Steins gate. The science adventure was a thrill. And the first 10 episode weren't too bad at all, built up and gave exposition to some great characters.
duffbeerdude I am not a anime nerd or something but from what I know, most of the animes don’t this build to avoid confusion in the viewers. Thus this is one of reasons why Stein’s Gate is unique. To me Stein’s Gate is one of the animes who is worthy to be categorized with Monster and Durara.
The first time I watched first eps of Steins;Gate, I felt the pacing was slow to give development with the characters. I was like "Where's the conflict? What's the plot?" 10 eps: literally gripping anything I held on because I was too absorbed One of the best. Hands down. It's a masterpiece. Even steins;gate 0 didn't disappoint. Mad respect
First 10 episodes were boring asf I only kept watching bc all the good reviews on it, but once it got good, it got GOOD, like after those boring episodes the rest was fire. I need to rewatch it
I started the anime thinking, why am I watching a delusional maniac talking about time machines. Then by the 4th or so episode, I got so interested in the story
Prolly watched like 3 episodes and immediately dropped. It's kind of frustrating to see, because I try to convince a lot of my friends to watch it but they drop it during the initial half even after telling them it gets better later on.
Yeah this particular line didn't sit right with me. Sure, there other anime are great. Calling Steins;Gate the GOAT is hyperbolic. But like, c'mon. The second half of the show would not have hit *nearly* as hard if we didn't spend so much time with the characters living their lives normally. I can't watch any dialogue scene from the first half of the show without this stupid grin on my face because just watching these people *talk* to each other is done so well.
IDK, for me the first 10 episode is like that single step closer to hell. Every iteration and changes happened to the future by single text message makes me on the edge, *Especially* the idol's message, *SPOILER of course* And when after that, the hell broke loose, and nightmare have more impact because of that.
The first half of Steins;Gate walked so the second half could run. You can't have one without the other. The second half of the show wouldn't be nearly as critically claimed as it is without being set up in the "filler" episodes
I tried getting my friends to watch steins;gate It went about how it did in this video I understand it might be slower paced than what people are used to But if they just paid a little more attention to the show instead of spacing out after 5 seconds of there being no explosions Maybe more could love it for what it is
You can't explain something we cant experience. You can only attempt to. People like you who don't understand metaphysical concepts, then talk about which anime explains them best are fucking hilarious.
I love the 1st 10 episodes. I feel like anyone who likes 'slice of life' type anime will love it. Okabe is one of the funniest protagonists I've ever seen in anime, and I loved the constant arguing between him and kurisu. From episode 12 it's a masterpiece though
its a masterpiece from the first episode, I loved the banter too, for me, the dialogue was more exciting than any action anime out there, I really don't get people who say it's boring at first.
exactly, I don't think there is such a thing as a clear cut best anime. Otherwise, you would have a show with a 10/10 average rating on MAL. It is subjective, everyone might view a certain anime in higher or lower esteem based on their set of bias, preferences, worldviews, etc.

Without those first 10 episodes it won't be a masterpiece coz the first 10 episode build the base and man those episodes make us feel like we are one of them . If those 10 weren't there , we won't feel the pain and tragedy that occurred afterwards

Yeah i agree. The first 10 episodes is masterpiece when you finished the 2nd half of Steins gate. And first 10 episodes is memorable because 😭😭😭😭😭 next of 10th episodes and the sequel is never gonna same again
there are many things you could criticize steins; gate for, like the badly timed comedy at times or the insensitive disrespect towards Rukako, or the weak villains or the plot holes, but not really the first 10 episodes - those did what they were intended to do
@@stonecat676 You can criticize something about any anime tho. I admit the anime has its flaws, but the visual novel it is based off of is a sci-fi masterpiece. steins;gate is the greatest time travel story of all-time. Especially if you read/watch s;g 0. Everything comes together sooo nice.
I loved the first half of Steins;Gate, I thought it being mundane like every day life helped immerse me more in the world, got me more attached to the characters because there WASN'T anything going on, the plot didn't require much of the characters except to behave how they would normally in their habitat, so it felt more.... genuine I guess? The writing was amazing, they sounded like real people minus the token anime trope scenes here and there. It also set my expectations for the level of realism in the show because it's more hard scifi with the intangible information time travel, so when they bust out the more conventional corporeal time travel later it seems so much more believable and hair raising for that reason. Meanwhile the beginning half unravels the mystery of SERN and all of the time travel conspiracy stuff very thoughtfully and creates a ton of suspense and a false sense of security. I don't think it was or felt like filler at all, I was literally never bored.

The first 10 episodes were essential to building the characters and making us grow on them before the darker turn on episode 12. Without those first episodes we wouldn’t see the relationships between the characters as clearly,we would barely know them and the events and betrayals wouldn’t have hit as hard as they did Honestly in my opinion it doesn’t even feel like filler it’s more like the plot slowly developing into something larger and more complex then how they first make it out to be
Plus let’s not forget the amazing loop at the end and how it aligns with the beginning and Makise saying he wanted to talk to her. There was obviously a lot of though and effort put into this storyline and if you find the first few episodes boring then you just haven’t gotten to the good part yet

My biggest criticism of 0 was leaving out some story bits and the animation, it's just not good and sometimes really really bad (Like I'm taking Ace Attorney Anime bad animation). Steins;Gate is my favorite anime due to the story, characters, and the concept all being so incredible. Yes the first few episodes are pretty slow, but other than that it's a masterpiece.
I take back what I said here. It may feel slow for people but it’s 100% necessary for that incredible buildup. I appreciate the first half so so much for how well done it lays out the foundation. Also it’s pretty much perfect IMO.

@@quplet that can be summed by the fact that we on the perspective of 1 okabe the whole show(except 0), as I said it means that you as an indiviual can only be active in one timeline, and zero even confirms it with us acompaning an alternate okabe, the ending even proves that he is not our okabe since his reading steiner didnt triggrer when he sent the future message and he even had to scape his timeline to avoid death instead of being autimaticaly transported to another time via reading steiner showing that they are not the same okabe he influence a timeline without being a part of it thus proving that his timeline is indeed active at the same time as the original okabe timeline, so again YOU cant be active iin more than one timeline Even the text doesn't disprove it since it says timelines are predetermined, wich means that if its predetermined for 2 timelines to interact it will happen, as in only a certain timeline can have a certain se of actions that lead to an outcome thus there being only one of them existing so yeah only one timeline exists because there is only one with that set of actions out of the infinite others with some having simillar outcomes, thus creating linears, but with very unique quirks and small differences that will make them completely different in the long run wich is the cause of the buttefly effect

That's not correct. Steins;Gate does not use the many worlds interpretation. Only one worldline is active at a time.
@@quplet uh no dude it use it very much, with timelines interacting in certain episodes even the ending proves that, what they mean by active is that you cant be active in more than one timeline as in you cant experience 2 timelines at the same time tho you can remember what happens (technically everyone can have reading steiner), all okabes are different and experience things diffrently but what he does is put his mind inside another okabe and move foward heck the show even show that other okabes also have reading steiner with the one from the future creating a timeline reader, and what happened at the end of the show was that okabe from the future created a timeloop to infinetly transport infinite okabes the same linear the steins;gate linear wich is a perfect timeline, so if only one timeline is active and then it would be impossbile to interact with other timelines is more about you being active in more than 1 timeline expecially because its straigh proven that if you get phisically get out of a timeline(use a time machine not a brain time leap) the world takes as if you are already dead ( okabe even exploits it in sometimes in 0) also the implications that mind has control over time really shows how cognition affects relativity (the pretend to kill kurisu to make so she is considered dead in the time line and heck even the video from the future that didnt carry anything important, just a silly motivational speech was able to affect the whole timeline)

@@dreamer1292 it doesn't, the anime, visual novel says that, you're wrong, and I don't even need to read all that.
@@quplet that can be summed by the fact that we on the perspective of 1 okabe the whole show(except 0), as I said it means that you as an indiviual can only be active in one timeline, and zero even confirms it with us acompaning an alternate okabe, the ending even proves that he is not our okabe since his reading steiner didnt triggrer when he sent the future message and he even had to scape his timeline to avoid death instead of being autimaticaly transported to another time via reading steiner showing that they are not the same okabe he influence a timeline without being a part of it thus proving that his timeline is indeed active at the same time as the original okabe timeline, so again YOU cant be active iin more than one timeline
Even the text doesn't disprove it since it says timelines are predetermined, wich means that if its predetermined for 2 timelines to interact it will happen, as in only a certain timeline can have a certain se of actions that lead to an outcome thus there being only one of them existing so yeah only one timeline exists because there is only one with that set of actions out of the infinite others with some having simillar outcomes, thus creating linears, but with very unique quirks and small differences that will make them completely different in the long run wich is the cause of the buttefly effect

Gotta Have Ass I’m scared it’s Boko No Pico thingy where people say it’s good but then...
The op was interesting tho so I might check it out and say what I think 💭 🤔
Unpopular opinion : Every episode of Steins;Gate was enjoyable and same goes with Steins;Gate 0 . S;G 0 took Steins;Gate to a whole new level of enjoyment, creativity and what not.
Haven’t seen 0 and while I preferred the second half of SG I also enjoyed the buildup of the first half.
Better take: the first half of S;G was on average better than the second half.
0 was enjoyable if i wanted to watch a slice of life anime, the main plot could ve been done in 4 episodes
I really preferred SG-1.
But the others were dope too.
0 is best experienced by both reading and watching it afterward. They make each other whole, unlike the first show which is just an adaptation of the VN.
Literally watched the first three episodes and I was a bit skeptical at first but after I watched the whole thing it's safe to say that it lives up to its hype
But this is fact, when you think a anime is going to be really good it’s hella trash, and when you think it’s going to be bad it end’s up being good.
I watched FMAB hoping it be really good and It is, but I didn't like so much.
I finally watched Black Clover expecting a really bad Naruto ripoff, turned out to be a decent shounen.
Iuri Pablo yeah. I thought jojo would be bad and then it was actually good.
Might just be that I only watched like 3 or 4 animes.
thats not true all the time tho
@@ilikelobsters.2376 i saw the number 3 and 4 and thought u would say "i watched part 4 and 3 only " lol
Steins gate fan here, can confirm ive said and done all of this.

Bro, this line is so good I'm gonna steal this line
ok I've binge-watched so many of your videos this week and every time that FFX song comes up, I get melancholic. FFX was a game that had a huge impact on me when I was young, and it hits hard every time you play that song in one of your videos.
