Foxy is filler, they changed almost everything in the anime from what the manga intended and made it like 4 times longer than the manga with filler scenes, games and fights, etc.

The latest arc is an improvement, but we shouldn't have had to wait literally 20 YEARS for the animation to look great. One Piece deserves better. I hope when the story is over, the animators rework it and take their time doing that.

Even if you're just watching 2 episodes per day it'll only take a little over 50 days. And you're probably going to watch at least 3 per day if you skip the openings and recaps. That can make 3 episodes as short as a 1-hour watch.

@@htxflow How much filler do you think is in one piece. I wish filler was the problem since it could be skipped. Only about 11% of one piece is filler, which isn't that bad for a long running anime. Especially when you compare it to Naruto's 41% and Bleach's 45%. One piece's issue is the fact the pacing(mainly the anime). To put it into perspective, the typical episode to manga chapter ratio is around 1 episode per 2-3 chapters. While some One Piece arcs are 1 episode per three quarters of a chapter.
Well they need to that otherwise they will catch up with the manga. The manga always periodically have a break while the anime don't. I don't want to wait 1 month for 1 eps of one piece if they catch up with the manga.

I gave it a try. They sometimes cut out important parts of scenes, which makes it jump around confusingly. Maybe One Pace will be necessary when it gets really bad post-time-skip, but I'm willing to tolerate the original for now.

I started in Dec 2021 and now i'm on episode 987. I finished water 7 and Enies Lobby in 3 days, Marineford in 5 days and Dressrosa in 7 days and i left only filler episodes except G-8 I will watch them though after catching up to latest episode and also the movies. But All I have to say that One piece is the greatest anime.

Ray the only problems ive ever had with pacing manga wise was Dressrosa. it was god awful pacing, and the anime made it worse. however, its not a bad read/watch after it was done airing.

Rule of thumb for shonen anime: The manga is always better and every fan who reads the manga will never let you hear the end of it.
Usually true for long running shows with lots of filler but otherwise depends. Examples: Hunter X Hunter, FMAB, Attack on Titan, so on.

The latest arc is an improvement, but we shouldn't have had to wait literally 20 YEARS for the animation to look great. One Piece deserves better. I hope when the story is over, the animators rework it and take their time doing that.

Even if you're just watching 2 episodes per day it'll only take a little over 50 days. And you're probably going to watch at least 3 per day if you skip the openings and recaps. That can make 3 episodes as short as a 1-hour watch.

@@htxflow How much filler do you think is in one piece. I wish filler was the problem since it could be skipped. Only about 11% of one piece is filler, which isn't that bad for a long running anime. Especially when you compare it to Naruto's 41% and Bleach's 45%. One piece's issue is the fact the pacing(mainly the anime). To put it into perspective, the typical episode to manga chapter ratio is around 1 episode per 2-3 chapters. While some One Piece arcs are 1 episode per three quarters of a chapter.

Leaving all that. If I want an upbeat anime, I wont watch AOT, if I want comedy then also AOT is not the one. I want happy endings? Not a chance. There r many other things that AOT wont fulfill. I think of One Piece as the best personally cuz it has almost everything from wars, real life issues to comedy to upbeat themes to a very diverse cast of characters and diverse places a d many more. U can expect anything from it. Then again OP wont give me romance or SOL vibes if I want it and OP hasn't got some laid back moments like FT had after every main arc. I know it has banquets but they dont cut it for me but I like them too. I love AOT too and it does very good in its domain but no anime or manga can satisfy everything. As a hardcore One Piece fan, I can confirm that the *anime* can get pretty bad. I'm a manga reader though, and the *manga* is god tier

Ray the only problems ive ever had with pacing manga wise was Dressrosa. it was god awful pacing, and the anime made it worse. however, its not a bad read/watch after it was done airing.
Honestly a large portion is that you invested 300+ hours into an anime, so it would be a waste of time if it weren’t your favorite
Edit: Now that I’ve caught up with the series, I focus less on the long hours invested into the series, and more about how great the series actually is. Just wanted to let you guys know, so that there isn’t any confusion
