  • We game on a core 2 duo e8400 at the stock clock of 3ghz. Then we try a big overclock of 4.2ghz.
    Check out how much this CPU can shine.
    We pair this CPU with 8Gb of ram and a GTX 660, enough GPU and RAM to really see what the old Core 2 can really do.

    Enjoyed the content and subbed OFFbit Tech. Interesting stuff especially when I paused the video and realized i have the same motherboard and I think I have the E8600 chip on it. Loved the content and would be interested in how you got the sweet overclock? P.S. I think the Wolfdale chips are 40 nm die process? Also might want to watch the north bridge temps. (I have a beefy copper fan unit on mine) Cheers on your excellent channel!

      Hi Obie327,
      Thank you for you support, we really do appreciate our subscribers here.
      The GA-EP45-UD3L motherboard is a great core 2 motherboard and it is probably the best core 2 motherboard we have here in our inventory at the OFFbit.
      The overclock settings.
      We managed to get a reasonably stable overclock at 4.23GHz
      This was basically our settings.
      Set CPU Host Clock Control to [Enabled]
      For the 4.23Ghz setting on our e8400, we set the FSB to [470Mhz],
      at this setting you will need the System Memory Multiplier set to [2.00B].
      We basically set the lowest setting to get the memory closer to our corsair DDR2 800 Ram rated speed,
      Which is being overclocked still by about 140Mhz.
      We also set performance Enhance to [Standard]
      Load line calibration to [Enabled].
      Now depending on a few things, such as power supply noise/silicon lottery of memory, chipset and CPU the stability will vary. Giving you either better or worse results. So you may need to tinker to find the best performance.
      Most of the time this setting gave us near-perfect runs with the odd problem at times.
      It's also worth mentioning using software like AIDA64 to check the stability when overclocking, this will help you tune it in. I usually find myself tweaking it a few times more after running AIDA64 still.
      For a system with a bit more day to day use you may wish to ramp the overclock back a bit so it's more stable (460 or 450Mhz FSB might be good).
      Now you said you had an e8600 which has a higher on-chip multiplier so getting to 4.2 GHz will require a smaller FSB which will enhance your stability.
      Thanks for watching and we hope this information helps.

    Heyy can u help for the d3d11 problem. I have a core 2 duo and geforce 8400gs

    • @OFFbitTech
      @OFFbitTech  2 года назад

      Unfortunately, the 8400gs only supports up to dx10.
      Depending on which version of the video card, there are 3 versions of the 8400gs, V1 G86 based on 8000 series, V2 G98 on 9000 series and V3 GT218 based on the 200 series that supports DX 10.1.
      NVidia only started supporting DX11 from the Fermi Base GeForce 400 series cards and newer.
      ATI/AMD only supported DX11 from the Radeon HD5000 Series.
      So, unfortunately, there is no easy way to get around it that I know of. However, there will be a workaround or 2 for certain games that can be done but, some of the workarounds will probably disable you from playing on online multiplayer servers.
      I'm sorry, there is not much we can do to help.
      Thank you for watching.

    how u run a gt 1030 ddr5 on this board it only ddr3 i have the same board with q8200 i can really install this

    • @OFFbitTech
      @OFFbitTech  2 года назад +2

      the GT1030 will have GDDR5 on the actual video card's circuit board.
      DDR3 ram on the motherboard is different to the one on the GPU.
      Simply just plug the GT 1030 into the PCIE x16 slot and you should be good if there is no UEFI issue, which should not be a problem with a lga 775 motherbaord.

    What is the best cpu range from 50$ between 100$

    • @OFFbitTech
      @OFFbitTech  2 года назад

      It's a bit tricky.
      It will depend on what motherboard is available or you are planning to use as these prices can vary greatly.
      At the moment you can get i7 2600 cheap these days, but even first and second-gen Ryzen CPU are starting to get into this price range at times and that would be a better deal but DDR4 ram is then in play which may affect your budget.
      However, I usually find the High end older Intel Xeons CPU from X79 motherboard and x58 will give you these prices all the time but the motherboard cost so so much and they are getting old tech.
      There are a heap of Haswell CPUs and even some skylake CPUs that are edging into this price range as well.
      Tricky question but a good one.
      Thanks for asking?
      I would love to know what your thoughts are.

      I think it should be ok,
      You will most likely need to run at lower settings.
      The core 2 duo will probably give you some load lag at times but once everything is loaded in it should be playable.
      It's been a while since I have tested Valorant on an older PC, but I think everyone you have should be able to run it.
      Let us know how it goes,
      Thanks for dropping a line by and thanks for watching.

    Can i play gta 5 online on
    core2 e8400
    gt 610

    How many fps?❤

    • @OFFbitTech
      @OFFbitTech  Год назад

      You could run it. But playing it would be a totally terrible experience. You basically need a quad core to run the game. If not don't move out of the location you start. Things in the world fails to load on a dual core. As with a gt610 this would also make I difficult aswell.
      So probably not worth trying unless you just want to see how bad it could be for giggles.
