Another major selling point is that it has 2x USB C 4 ports. No proprietary connections. So attaching an eGPU or charging the device while connecting an external drive or other peripheral is super easy. Ally and SD only have one port as far as I know and they're not USB C 4.
This is a great device. I have the Legion, Deck, and Ally and it's this one I come back to to use. Steamdeck is amazing, but I find I use Windows apps too often to give up easily (and there are some games I can't run on the Deck. Loved the Ally until it killed my SD card :(
I have all 3 as well but find myself using the Ally the most, I wanna like the Legion go but it feels horrible in the hands and too bulky for me compared to the deck and ally, also the battery is somehow even worse than the allys (which the Ally battery life sucks)
@@Greatbylook Yeah I might (wait til I get older that is). As a switch player, one thing I might need to get used to it is these games not being optimized for a small screen. But maybe windows games have a better likelihood of coming with more customization, so maybe scaling text and UI. Doesn’t sound like it though from how you were talking.
I think this is probably a good screen size to manage portability and function. The number of people playing by hooking up a mouse and keyboard but still using this display is probably pretty small. More likely they'll put it in a dock with a tv & controller, or with a monitor and keyboard/mouse.
Mine is in the mail. Goal is using it with a 60% keyboard I bring in my bag anyway. My 13 in laptop recently kicked the bucket. I think the smaller screen will be fine because 90% of the time I can dock my laptop and the other 10% of the time I am not working and probably playing a lighter game. Friends and I are already planning more LANs. So at the very least it's making more close gaming opportunities.
Hey, i just want to ask what "light work" did u do on the LeGo, and byfar how was the experience using LeGo? Can you replace LeGo with your laptop? I also do travel a lot and very intrested buying LeGo but still unsure if i only bring LeGo will enough or not
@naufalrajasa5497 hello I personally have bluetooth keyboard and mouse, so I can do lot of work with legion go i also dock it to hotel tv for with usb dock. As for replacing the laptop, I would still carry it as a backup. But overall, I'm pleased with my purchase.
Recently i ve got this lenovo legion go and i m really impressed by this device, it was a go to because of my old eyes an 8"+ display is more comfortable. I like the detachable controler, pretty powerfull for such a small thing, with a mouse, small keyboard and even an external portable monitor you can carry all in a 17" laptop case with a ton of accessories. With a 10" inch display this could kill a laptop, it could get better cooling and even more versatility, but for 8 or 10" display i think 1440p is a bit overkill, 1080p for this size is more than enough, more power and perf efficient for an integrated gpu, maybe FHD+, but 1440p not so usefull in such a tiny display.
there is something that fits what youre asking for. i have a Asus ROG Flow Z13. its a Microsoft Surface with a GPU. it doesnt have joycons (THANKFULLY). and at 13" im guessing its probably bigger than what youre projecting. the OneXPlayer X1 seems to be everything youre seeking. joycons. 10" and a keyboard. i just wish it had a GPU.
GPD had devices before the Steam Deck was a thought. and released 4/5 mos before the Switch. several other manufacturers like AyaNeo, Ayn, One Netbook (OneXPlayer) were in the game before Asus and Lenovo.
I just got one a week ago, its my main system now. Its amazingly underrated. BTW, I'm gonna use a portable projector for the big screen experience. Also, when using the FPS mode, you can push in the joystick, so it doesn't stick out so much ;)
I don't understand in what world one would push that res and refresh rate. The frame rate whiplash of running something simple and low poly over 60hz, then a big boy game that barely scratches 30fps would kill me. It mildly irks me to go from 120hz to 60hz alone from my PC to the Deck. Seems like a massive cost increase for only a handful of titles one would be able to take advantage of with the given hardware and bandwidth of this chip. I get that you can alter the rafresh rate and resolution, but it's just strange to have to make concessions on every game while you're still being charged for that display that you still won't take advantage of....
I bought to use primarily as a tablet, not for gaming. It's the ONLY tablet under 9" or really 10" for that matter with high resolution and fairly premium specs. I agree a matching keyboard would be awesome. Because this has USB4, you can connect an egpu. So this really could be a desktop replacement (with egpu, larger monitor and possibly external drive), a laptop (with matching keyboard), a tablet AND a gaming handheld. A larger version would be a nice addition, as long as they still sell a smaller one like this! I think it's fantastic!!
I just actually picked one up on 4/20 (lmao) but i have previously had a steam deck, and i wasn't fully happy, but when i saw this, i loved the size, its an amazing PC for me, and rn i have it hooked up to a single USBC dongle, and set for the internal display to turn off. i love this thing as PC, and the performance in the size
i like laptops even if i have a desktop and i got a lenovo because of it but didnt felt right i think is the size of the screen or maybe the gpu capabilities but they are getting there once they put a dedicated gpu on these thing ill get one
laptops and desktops have their uses which I doubt will be replace anytime soon. This legion go is versatile that you can doc to Monitors to become a PC or a mini tablet, the main selling point is ofc a handheld gaming device that runs all your games on the go from any platform and also Emulates games from the Switch, overall $700-800 for all this is not bad at all. not saying it will happen, but this kind of device reminds of the idea one in all xD and could potentially be huge in the future to come.
6000 + mah battery. Just get powerbank 24.000 mah make sure its 100w + Walla your game time went up 2 hours to 8 hours if your still not at charging outlet than I dont know buy 2 powerbands' 😂😂
So, question for you. Is there a stylus for it? I can see having a dock, keyboard, mouse, and monitor setup at home and using it as a drawing tablet… except, it’s really the whole computer built into the tablet. Certainly not a primary function of the device but since it has Windows on it, why not?
These things are getting better and cheaper with time. And quite rapidly, too. I agree with your sentiment that these are going to trump laptops. I just wish Microsoft would read the room and do something similar to Valve: have a controller optimized OS on one side of things with the ability to switch to full Windows desktop mode. Windows isn't very friendly with handhelds. I can see a beefier version of Xbox OS as a front end for all of your games and if you feel like the full PC experience, switch to desktop mode.
I'm typing this on legion go. I can't get games to run good at all. Cloud gaming is the what runs good for me currently. If someone could help me that would be awesome
Maybe you need to lower resolution. This 1600p is too much for this performance especially on AAA games. i think 800p the sweet spot, but idk big resolution screen with low resolution gaming i think its not the best looking.
i feel like a lot of the dislikes on this device were personal preferences that they would rather have vs it being a product that performs well for what they made. From this video for him he wants a 2 inch bigger display and a keyboard attachment that is more convenient for him
If the Legion Go had a VRR display, especially a native landscape display, it'd be a no brainer for me. But it doesn't, unlike the Ally, which doesn't have USB4... Why oh why...

I'm all for handhelds and where they're going, hopefully in the near future with cpu's & gpu's getting better I'm hoping they can get more powerful or better yet more energy efficient so we can get more play time out of them.
I love the device, just wish they'd add a button mapping to the xbox home button. Makes it annoying when using as a Steam Deck on steroids.
