@@samdam1618 Shaman stone would help SOOOO much, but unfortunately there's no way to fit it without taking out strength, quick slash, flukenest, or fury, all of which are even more important.

@@rosysaturniidaebecause you will use nail more then spells you need 3 hit’s before doing a spell, and all the time save Sharman flukes would save is lower then the strength time save.

I've definitely lost a lot of runs to gorb. However, I had to be there so I wasn't in danger from the lower spike.

@@lucithedemonminer its random chance RNG just got lucky and after a 1000 restarts its not unlikely to get it a lot.
@@lucithedemonminer In fairness, this wasn't optimal rng either, ideally he'd do the dive attack but the air slash is also pretty good. The ground slash and the empty hop are bad, but fortunately he didn't do them this time.

Calling Uumuu and Nightmare King “Trash” and “Garbage” respectively gave a good chortle, even if the latter is my favorite fight in the game
Nightmare King is great, I should have changed that. The reason I had it labeled like that is because you have to wait for the flame pillars to attack him otherwise he'll do two balloons. He's a good boss though, just unfair in the speedrun.
Currently attempting to do the same challenge, so far I’ve gotten to sly with fury, amazing run and well played!

Imagine if when Radiance get caught and Void shows up, instead of slashing her face off, they just pick something from inside and it's the exact same Knight, with the red Fury aura.
Releases the tendrils holding Radiance, lobs the Knight to her and then a goddamn FATALITY ensues bro.

Thanks a lot. I would say that the main reason why it improved so much was because I couldn't see the timer during the run. In my last run, I could see the timer, so I freaked out and lost 13 seconds on absrad. This time, I had no idea I was on a decent pace, so I wasn't scared.

I’ve been doing my first real grind on pantheon of hallownest recently (after almost 500 hours in the game lol), and seeing this has given me the determination to continue. I’ve died to AbsRad 3 times now and but I can consistently beat her in practice. Such a pain.
I'm so glad to hear that this is a motivation. Remember, if you're ever feeling uncertain about whether or not you can beat absrad, I think you should practice again in HOG. That may seem boring, but it's much more boring to do the whole pantheon again.
Not saying you haven't been practicing, of course.

You only need 5 fury hits to kill him once his shield is down :)

Not enough space unfortunately. I'm already overcharmed with this setup. Grubberfly is so cool tho, wish it could be used for more stuff :(

@@CoralReaper707 Grubberflys is also active with 1 HP and fury but sadly doesn't compete in terms of damage with the other three notch charms (strength, quick slash, flukenest, or even shaman stone which we also don't have room for). I may do a run of p5 with grubberfly just for fun tho.

All of us Pantheon runners use strength, quick slash, fury, stead bod, nail masters, and (overcharmed) and flukenest
Sardine Slayer is correct. Also, if you want to do runs without overcharm, I recommend either:
"strength, quick slash, shaman, fury"
or
"strength, quick slash, steady body, fury, longnail"

Agreed. That fireball was definitely avoidable too, but I like to be at 4 masks specifically after NKG just so I can tank once on PV and then set up fury for absrad.

Having a lifeblood mask, but missing ur regular masks, looks so weird. Like why is there a gap in the health bar???? (I know why it’s just confusing to look at)
how do you have 5 masks in a godmaster file
This isn't actually my file (original owner sent me the download), but basically someone edited it to reduce the mask number using debug mod. That's allowed by the official speedrunning ruleset tho since it's the exact same as playing through the game on a 5 mask file, the only advantage being you don't need to watch the credits.

Go to Program filesx86 > steam > steamapps > common > Hollow Knight > Hollow Knight Data > Config, and then set it to "0"

I was pretty happy with that absrad fight. This run was actually tied with my old personal best after Pure Vessel but then absrad was -15 seconds :D

@@211aonscratch4 I struggle the common struggles: (pure vessel, absrad, sly, hornet 2, nkg) you know, those sorta harder bosses. You obviously don’t need to teach me each one, but any form of more general advice could be helpful.
@@kingmaple9252 The best general advice I can give is to practice a lot in Hall of Gods and use descending dark (except for NKG, it's great for the others).

If some of the bosses cooperated better (like the first Mantis Lord appearing on the fluked side, in the flukes) you would probably be able to shave off at least 2 seconds
But hey its better than anything i could ever do cus i suck at this game and i suck even more at speedrunning
He could definitely shave of 2 seconds, hell World Record is 16:10!
That's 100% correct, but honestly the biggest timesave was WD. That fiasco was +11.7 seconds.

Because of the RNG if you get unlucky you can lose up to 15 seconds! He doesn’t hate NKG but in the speedrun he does.
Thanks a lot. Sorrry about the NKG thing, I probably should've changed it, idk I just got salty cuz sometimes he takes a really long time to do flame pillars, which is the only attack that lets you kill him on the first balloon.

He's my favorite to fight too, just for the speedrun he's annoying cuz you have to wait for the flame pillars to attack. He can literally just end your run right there if he decides to take too long to give the pillars.

NKG is a good boss, I just don't like him on the p5 run. It's super unfair when he does like 15 attacks before flame pillars. Overall tho he is a great boss.

Didn't mean to offend. NKG is a good boss, I just don't like it for the speedrun, since you need to wait for the flame pillars, which sometimes takes a while and sometimes doesn't.

Why is nkg put as garbage in your splits 😂
You can only really punish the flame pillars cuz otherwise you don't do enough damage before the first balloon so you might have to go through two balloon phases which takes way way longer. Other than the speedrun tho he is a great boss.
