I have subscribed. This video is very helpful. What is great about this video is that it's from the perspective of a tourist/traveler, I watched videos from Paulo from Tokyo about traveling with a kid/s but its different since he lives in Japan and doesn't have the same challenges as a tourist who has limited time, budget, and luggages to haul around.
I have a two month trip coming up May-July with my 4 year old and will be 7 month old. 😅 I’m going to wear the baby but bring a stroller for the big one just in case. I’m terrified tbh because I’m doing it on my own. The man has to stay home and work. Not touristing though, I’m scouting Tokyo, Osaka, and Kobe for neighborhoods near my choice children’s hospitals and which city is easiest to get around in terms of accessibility specifically - so the stroller is kind of a test, because our baby has spina bifida. We’ll eventually be moving to Japan because US healthcare is $$$. After the scouting/practice-living we are going to visit grandma and grandpa in rural southernmost Okinawa. (So all that is why it looks like I’ve been stalking your videos lately 😂) thanks for all of the tips and topics btw!
Ah.. right on Aibao. I think for the stroller you'll just have to learn the subway/train stations that have elevators and the routes around. And keep on stalking :)
I'm going with my wife and almost 2 year old next week. lax to Singapore. 3 days there, then bali for a week, Seoul for a week and Tokyo for a week then back to Los Angeles. Unfortunately I have to use a stroller as a lot of days we will be out of our hotel entire day so it's great to hold the baby bag and a ton of the stuff we'll be shopping for. Tokyo is the only part of my trip I'm so worried about travelling with a stroller 😅
We are staying our first three and last two nights in the Tokyo area with two small kids. Staying at hyatts w/points. Would you spend your last two nights at regency Yokohama or grand Hyatt Roppongi? Thank you.
Question Im planning to travel to Japan with my husband and toddler to visit some universities all of them in Tokyo. What are some nearby cities that are more stroller friendly and don’t take to long to travel from? Thank you!
Since children are messy most of time, how do you handle the laundry for at least 3 people while traveling? I remember that there are coin operated washing machines in some hotels or shops in Japan but they are designed for very light clothes and the dryer doesn't dry very well specially on thicker fabrics like denim.
Hello again :) I'm just wondering how do you prepare or how do you handle the trip if the your child gets sick while traveling? I just realize because my son got sick suddenly without any warning, but his okay now. Also how many days is the safe limit for a toddler to travel? I under the impression that even if a child gets his naps and sleeps well at night, the constant day trip is very tiring for them.
Hi George, yeah. Kids get sick all the time.. just try to make them the most comfortable.. and it means they're really sick and can't leave the hotel.. then as the parents we'll trade off the watch. One of us goes out to enjoy the destination while the other plays nurse. And we've taken short trips (of a few days) to long trips of a month. For a long trip you just have to do less each day. And realize you may need to be back in the hotel every day by 7pm or something

Awesome job chris with the stream last night
Thanks 👍
your daughter is so adorable
Thanks Trina 😀
Japan is probably one of the easiest places on earth to travel with kids. It's only westerners who compamin about the difficulties
Indeed. We found it easy breezy. Other than the train stations in Tokyo 😀

Easy to get your toddler to behave in Japan. Tell them ninjas will take them away if they misbehave. 😂
Hah!
Oof! Not cool…😮
What are the smaller cities you recommend in Japan?

Hi Chris, I am wondering if there are baby stroller rentals in Japan where you can rent them for a week?
Not sure George.. we rented one in Taiwan.. so I'd imagine Japan will have similar services

Yokohama seemed pretty stroller friendly.. especially the area around the new cable car. Kamasutra is a good day trip spot too

We just bring enough clothes.. but we have used the laundry mats in Japan before. But they are not common
