Hi Chris. Great live stream as always. So much great information delivered in a simple and easy to understand manner. This will be a great guide for anyone wanting to visit Japan in the near future. Take care.
I'm in Japan rn and it's great! First time here and im doing a month. Got to see the Hokkaido Snow Festival as well 🙌🏼 your video backlog helped a lot. Subway really easy to use
Another tip: Always have some of the higher value coins in your pocket, be it for one of the numerous (and great) vending machines (love the variation of cold drinks) or the lockers at the train station.
Omg that’s where I booked Tokyo Hotel Century Southern Tower I leave for my trip on 3/6!! So excited! Third time replanning this trip. Was March 2020 then November 2022 (country had just reopened in October I decided it was too soon) This is my dream bucket list trip.❤
I’d suggest to add Hiroshima to the itinerary. The peace park is… well, I can’t call it „nice“, it’s rather challenging but also impressive. Also: don’t miss out on Miyajima and its Floating Torii Gate ((half-)day trip from Hiroshima. My time-optimized tip would be: arrive late in Hiroshima, have dinner at Okonomimura (Okokomiyaki house), go to the peace park in the morning, go to Miyajima afterwards, take in the temple and the floating torri, hike up the Mt. Misen, hike down or take the ropeway. By spending enough time on Miyajima, you see the Torri at low tide and high tide, which is pretty call, because on low tide, the torri isn’t floating anymore and your can walk through it. Them head back to Hiroshima and either spend another night (have some gyoza) and leave early in the morning or late that evening.
Hi Chris, going to Tokyo for 9 days with my 11th grader on a robotics lab trip in June. What should I plan for regarding how much cash to have on hand each day? Thanks!
Really hard to say depending upon what you're doing and where you're going.. I generally pull out 50,000 Yen from the ATM when I get there and then just take out more from the ATM if I need more
Hi Derek.. we haven't been to Kagoshima...but take a look at our Kyushi vlog and it has a couple days of stuff for Fukuoka and nearby - ruclips.net/video/SUQEvJ7nKFg/видео.html
Hi Chris, Haven’t watched this one yet, but it’s on my list. However, maybe you can help a fellow traveler out: My favorite destination for vacation is Japan, but I did the recently, just like Singapore and Thailand. Where should I go next for say 7-10 days? Korea? Taiwan? China? What’s your recommendation? Thx!
Korea and Taiwan are both fun.. I'm Luke warm on China travel currently.. depends what kind of food you like. Taiwan has better and cheaper food. And is generally warmer. Korea definitely has great Korean BBQ. And Seoul is cool.. but Korea can be brutally cold in winter
@@YellowProductions thanks Chris! I don’t need the cold, but I survived Montreal, Toronto and Minneapolis in February (and it was around 0F in Minneapolis back then), so I guess that doesn’t deter me from going to Korea, especially since I’m looking at late October/early November rather than December. Lucky for me, I know a channel where I can check some Taiwan travel videos… but the ones for Korea aren’t to recent…or did I miss some?
Thanks for your quick reply. Love your very informative videos. I also follow you in IG and FB ❤️ Also, general question, why do you call your wife "OC Girl"? Btw, Princess is so cute❤️
I’d skip Osaka Castle as it’s kind of fake (rebuild after destruction). I’d rather make a stop at Himeji when traveling between Kyoto/Osaka and Tokyo, lock away my suitcase, and go to that beautiful castle. However, there is no need to spend more time in Himeji imho. Maybe I’d even skip Osaka entirely and spend more time in Kyoto/Tokyo or use it for Trips (Nara, Kammakura, Nikko, Hakone, Mt. Fuji) or use a day for Hiroshima, as suggested in my other post.
We bought a 72 hour ticket for Tokyo metro and underground. Do you know if every station has a qr code ticket machine and where to find it. I think these tickets are a bargain with only 12 euros. Have you ever used them?
I never used pocket WiFi, always went for SIM cards (pre-ordered and delivered with the JR Railpass (when that was a no brainer) or at the airport). Might go with an eSIM next time after a good experience in Singapore and Thailand with a provider called „Maya Mobile“ Also: I was collecting my comments on „notes“ before I sent them to make sure I don’t lose my thoughts on a topic you mention, but also not write something that you talk about later. However, I was wondering: with me leaving multiple comments here - is that appreciated and maybe even better for you (YT-algorithm) or just annoying and should I just post one long comment in the future?
Hi Pi.. I'm not really sure how to RUclips algorithm sees multiple comments from the same person. But I don't find it annoying. Actually I find it interesting because I realize when people do that they are usually commenting as they watch which is kind of cool
Hi Louie. Well. Best culture you'll find away from great transport. Since you said good transport is a criteria I'd say Tokyo with day trips to Nikko and Kamakura and Osaka with day trips to Kyoto and Nara
Umm Chris, I think your account has been hacked. You've just left a reply to one of my recent comments advertising an investment broker that you want me to contact. It's on thread where you were asking for ideas to put in this live stream. If on the other hand you really are sharing your personal broker with me, than I am honoured, and flattered that you want to go into business with me!

I think you mentioned the anime shopping center once. That's what I would be most interested in when I visit there. Also any nearby arcades.

Hello Chris, I am visiting Japan this coming June. I will be going to Fukuoka and Kagoshima in Kyushu. How much time would I need in each city?
Hi Derek.. we haven't been to Kagoshima...but take a look at our Kyushi vlog and it has a couple days of stuff for Fukuoka and nearby - ruclips.net/video/SUQEvJ7nKFg/видео.html
General question: How old was your kiddo when she took her first long haul international trip? Considering it but not sure if it’s too early.
Not me deciding to book my cherry blossom trip to Japan a month before i go 🙃

hi from the UK...is it possible to get a group visa for 5 people?
Hi Cris, how do we know what meds are illiegal in Japan, is there a website we can go to so we can check? Thanks🙂
Here's a good website to start with: jp.usembassy.gov/services/importing-medication/

Hi Chris, what is name the restaurant in Tokyo you ate the £200 sushi called please? I dislike Sushi but want to change my mind when i get to Tokyo 😅
Sushi Sho 😀

At the age of 2 we took her 6 hours to Hawaii. Taiwan/Japan was her first 12 hour flight at the age of 3
@@YellowProductions Thank You!!
Hi Chris. If you only had a 8-10 day stay. Pick 2 areas as base, where would you stay to experience some true culture and ease of transportation
Hi Louie. Well. Best culture you'll find away from great transport. Since you said good transport is a criteria I'd say Tokyo with day trips to Nikko and Kamakura and Osaka with day trips to Kyoto and Nara
Is the JR pass good for all trains or just bullet trains?
The JR Pass is good for all trains operated by JR. Note there are many trains and subways operate by different companies
Great video, but isn’t it called the “golden route”?
I said Diamond route didn't I? Yes.. the main route is the Golden route
You said Claritin D is illegal in Japan, what do you use instead while you’re there? Zyrtec?
Just regular Claritin.. it's the decongestant part they regulate
@@YellowProductionsThanks for the quick response! :)
ive been wanting to go since Tokyo Drift came out. Im flying out in a couple weeks.
ABOUT BEHAIVOR ? WHAT IS TO BE POLITE AND NOT POLITE IN JAPAN ?
Since this question was not directly answered: CBD IS legal in Japan.
