This is the MOST CURSED EU4 map I've EVER SEEN

- In today's Europa Universalis IV video we will be checking out the Odd Empires mod, an overhaul mod for EU4 that changes everything from the map, to the cultures, to the religions.. everything! No Britian, no HRE, no Germany, just chaos. Some things will be recognizable, but it is basically a whole new game with a level of complexity and detail I have never seen!

The lore?
Fino-Korean Hyperwar.
No I’m serious that’s the reason for all this.
Holy shit I haven't seen that meme in ages. That's awesome.
Ah yes, Korea and Finland fight a war and raise entire lost continents from the sea.
It’s beautiful
It looks like those old maps where explorers didn't really bother to actually go to map out, so they added what they believed was there, regardless if mythical place (like Atlantis) or not.
I can recognize the Legion IX Hispania. It existed in real life and was a legion from the Roman Empire that out of nowhere disappeared into existance and no one ever knew what happened to them. Apparently in this map they ended up in a northern island in the atlantic
Edit: apparently the historians have already found out where they when (Holland) and mush later they disappeared again probably because of annihilation
I've heard some theories about them but it is pretty strange for a complete army like a legion to just disappear
that "northern island in the atlantic" is the rockall plateau partially above sea level
Mu is another one of those "lost" continents people thought existed in the 19th century like Atlantis and Lemuria.
Hi thanks for review.
Most issues and lags might be caused by the new version. I recommend reverting to version 1.36 until I fix the mod (don't soon lmao).
This mod is a fever-dream, like continents shift back and forth version to version. Plus it tries to shove every historical conspiracy theory to have ever existed into itself alongside a bunch of historical nations. From Finno-Korean Hyperwars, to surviving Neanderthals, to the Lost 9th Hispanic Legion, to post-apocalyptic Mu with neighboring Agartha, to Mormons ideas of Ancient Jews in the Americas, etc. A very fun and very weird world! While it doesn't update as much now, it used to have some crazy new addition every other day added.
Tons of fun mission trees, I would recommend it to anyone interested in a weird world. Just be aware that a lot of the text is AI generated for missions and events. Also you might have to roll back Eu4 to an earlier version because its currently inbetween being updated to the newest patch.
Edit: Oh right I forgot, there's also an island full of Pokemon, Templars, a surviving Hun Empire, Aztecs Empire in Europe/Africa from a successful Sunset Invasion, both a Pheonician exile state in Atlantis and Carthage enclave city in Africa, Orthodox and Unorthodox Martial Sects in Korea, another Lost Roman Legion over in China, and one of my favorites nations of Bactria is still around. Like there is an insane amount of stuff in this mod, this still isn't all of it.
Estonian landscape looks historical.
P.S. thanks for the shout out. :D
Isn't this just our world in 6499 after those tectonic plates have moved for another few milennia? 🤔
More than a few millennia for significant tectonic plate movement; I think the 6k year thing is just an in-universe calendar system, maybe based on the Jewish calendar or something as old?
Nah. I think there's a part of South America in the place of Africa.
What about the North-Korean calander? That gives those plates an extra ~2000 years to move around 😅
No
did something happen to make the tectonic plates boogie like that??
Finally a video about the schizo mod!!! I remember I played a MP in this. It was so much fun even tho we didn't play that long.
This actually makes me wonder if there is a mod for the Finno-Korean Hyperwar lol
I think this mod actually includes that too
Lore of this mod is literally a guy drawing an awful world map, but then tries to defend it from his friend's mockery, so he invents all the lore 😂
nope
7:18 "takla makan" lake is the taklamakan desert, it appears the tarim basin was filled, a lot of stuff on this map appears to be localized sea level changes
Chewbert, I'm a long time sub since Drew left the scene. One of the silent majority, not so silent now.
My brain hurts after seeing Europe in that state.
You say cursed, I say blessed. 😇
FINALLY.
I love odd empires,
It’s so… odd
What I know of the lore is that besides the Finno-Korean Hyperwar being the reason for the geography, Hunsgary is the Hunnic Empire and it splitting into 3 is similar to Carolingians, Constantinople does exist but its called Troya (similar to the reason why Eastern rome is called byzantium). Theres also a decision which shows the years in Anno Domini/Common Era.
YES I love The Odd Empires!
FYI there are Neanderthals and synthetics in this mod
I just love that the poles are randomly in France
Mamluks in India.
TBF, that happened for a while with the Delhi Sultanate in OTL.
Time for Anbennar next time?
My head hurts looking at this map
Chewy could you make a video about the mod I made? It's called "Kievan Rus" at the Steam workshop. It's basically about an alternate timeline where the Kievan Rus' survived until 1444. It would be great if you did so and I'd appreciate it very much.
I was watching this on my phone and every time the screen flips my head hurts
This mod would be great if the dev guy didnt change massive amounts of stuff each patch
I tend to agree, it feels like he is just adding everything he thinks of lol
That's the point of the mod. It's like the first line of the description.
That's the catch
Every few months It's like a completely new experience
Ah yes.
The aftermath of the second Finno-Korean hyperwar.
Regarding the beginning: I'm not sure that the mission trees are trule broken, but that they just look like that. I've seen that in other mods as well, where people design really wide MTs, that do not really fit in to the MT window and to accomodate them they put some of the missions in different places. Usually you can see this if you hover over one of the missions in an odd place and look what it's dependent and following missions are.
Can you make lucky nation boosts waaay better and give like 20 random nations that arent lucky in the base game lucky boosts? maybe give them a flat tax income and manpower boost at the start too so they survive?
sup
hold on isnt this map just earth a couple hundred million years ago, india island is really giving me that impression
No, while it may have taken some inspiration from it, many things like Florida are unchanged, which was not the case millions of years ago (in that it has definitely changed, whereas this mod does not show it as such)
@@phasorthunder1157 ah okay, I guess earth is just on lsd then
Definitely not, There are lots of things that either don't out right exist, or were never like this. You should seriously consider watching a timelapse of Earth's continental drift before making comments like this, as if you did, you'd know that you're comment is not anywhere close to true.
You should do the Pangea mod
Could you do a video observing either vanilla or a modded game but with the eclipse of empires mod? It gives empires a rise and fall mechanic that keeps the game more dynamic and I'm curious with how it'd work with popular mods like Ante Bellum, Post Finem, or even this mod.
Nah, this is starting to become too cursed for me. I miss the old videos where small changes could change the entire history of the world.
Red flood for eu4
I just started watching you and from what I have seen so far you do usually play EU4 but a video I would like to see is you reviewing the After The End mod for CK3
atheists discovering that the lack of a god doesnt mean that you don't have a religion
there was another mod like this you made a video about, do you remember what it was called? it wasn't alki it was some other one. groups like the Goths existed
Great! Another mod to play Byzantium
If you like the roman empire you can play
