I love how grian showed up, immediately made a pun, and mumbo just *paused* cause he realized how easy his task would be :D

I'm pretty sure it was less him realising how easy it would be and more confused how Grian knows what his task is
As Ghani stated, Mumbo thought for a while that Grian had the exact same task as him. Granted, it _did_ make Mumbo's task much easier. It was funny how Grian assisted Mumbo in completing his task without anyone being the wiser and Mumbo then assisted Bdubs the same way.
That right there is _proof_ that Mumbo and Grian share a single braincell.

The problem is that scar and mumbo haven't changed in the slightest so no one knows what's a task and what's a mumbo/scar gimmick

I love the parts where the tasks overlapped/interacted
Grian and Mumbo both having tasks related to making jokes and running into each other right away, leading to the situation that made Mumbo’s task easy to complete and Grian’s impossible until he left to find other people.
Gem having both Skizz and Scott targeting her with very clingy tasks.
And my personal favorite, Lizzie having her base get boxed in by Cleo’s, which made it easy for Martyn to copy. Except Etho gave Lizzie a pink bed for part of his task, which Martyn didn’t have the resources for so he decided to steal it instead. Preventing Etho from stealing it back for his task, as he arrived only moments later and caught Martyn in the act.
You can literally see etho running to Lizzie’s base as martyn is discussing stealing the bed
That last one might actaully go down as one of the life series greatest moments for me.
I haven't verified it but if Etho got the pink for the bed from Mr. Cherrywood that would be icing on the icing
Mumbo and grian also had the log stack problem
Even if they weren't, this pairing was inevitable since Grian is the only guy who would chain horrible puns.

I thought she got it like right away, when she got impulse to jump with her! But I think in her eyes Jimmy and Joel were what counted

I think that was really smart of her. Yes, the lizzie jump counted. Absolutely. Then she raised the stakes with impulse. Then she fully committed with the diving board and the signs.
That seems like the right move if you do your task super early
I think she was covering her bases just in case someone thinks Lizzie didn't count (it totally did imo)
personally i don’t think she completed the task once. none of those were leaps of faith imo.
like i don’t care ultimately, but also i’d say something was a leap of faith if they didn’t know where they were going to land…
jumping off a steep cliff 30 blocks down to a wide river is kind of a guaranteed safe landing for literally professional minecrafters.

I honestly think Pearl’s was the hardest one, but she got incredibly lucky. So many people gave away or traded hearts with one of the first few people they ran into. If Lizzie and Solidarity were a bit more proactive about trading it, I think Pearl would have run out of opportunities and have to either fail or reroll.

Grian unknowingly handed Mumbo his success on a silver platter.
In contrast, the fact that Grian tried to make unfunny jokes to the easiest person to make laugh on the server made his job much harder.

Seeing tango and scar talk about Star Wars is the best part of my day so far.
I’ve never seen Star Wars and I literally know nothing about it, but seeing someone talk about things they’re passionate about makes me so happy.
I love Scar's extremely random disnay/star wars moments. usually comes out of nowhere 🤣
What I like is that even though it was for his secret challenge, he only needed to get him to talk for a minute but ended up having an actual discussion for even longer. I think he started to actually get invested in Star Wars lol
i also love how tango didn’t rush him to finish, he did genuinely have questions i think, which is so cute ❤
I think the trick is to get Scar to talk about Star Wars for only 60 seconds.
listening to scar talking about star wars made me so happy as someone that would also unknowingly talk about star wars forever, i too am in love with the clone wars and rebels and Ahsoka is also one of my favorite characters

What I like was that even Scar, the one person I know to be one of the biggest Starwars lovers on the planet, absolutely hated the Disney Starwars series. I'd been concerned since he's said good things about the movies, but he doesn't like Obi-wan or Book of Bobafet, which he shouldn't, because they're trash.
@conanedogawa4798 glad to see someone acknowledge the Obi-Wan show wasn't what he deserved 😭 too many people say it's amazing and I'm so confused, there's like two good scenes in the whole show

I love how well Grian and Mumbo's corresponded so well consdering how quickly they ended up interacting
I also love how many people this has made me check out the perspectives of. I'm usually one to just watch Grian's view and sometimes Cloe, Bdubs, or Pearl's, but this even had me watching BigB, Lizzie, and Etho, which is something I typically would not do. An incredibly cool gimmick, I must say

as someone who just does not have time to watch ALL of the hermits, it’s so interesting seeing how different their video styles are. the contrasts between each ytuber is so wild, especially going from impulse to lizzie’s

Lizzies was probably my favorite task. Extremely uncomfortable to do, but not as uncomfortable as Skizz had. Plus her rhyming was *chefs kiss.* However for comedy factor Mumbos was great. He also completed it like 5 times over and he didn't even have to do anything. Grian just came over and did it for him with him being non the wiser to Mumbos scheming.
My favorite was probably mumbos :) it was a great way for him to make his return from last life!
@@molecoid Can't agree more that it's wonderful having him back. He's too humble and lovely to say it, but his chemistry with everyone in the life series and hermitcraft is honestly one of the most compelling parts of his content. I'm really looking forward to seeing his series with Pearl and Bdubs. Granted Bdubs did kinda just abandon them for Tango and Skizz at the end of the first session. Lmao
Of course it was much less embarrassing/funny because she just chose her husband. I felt Lizzie was most anticlimactic for that.

Since Bigb’s task being red was a mistake, I’m guessing the actual tasks for red names will be something like bounties- they have to kill a specific person, and maybe a harder version makes it so they have to kill them a specific way too (i.e. fall damage or cactus)
I doubt we will see any tasks about direct killing, it would end series too early. Probably traps and damage though!

Now this was what I’ve been waiting for, with how the gimmick works this season you really want to know what everyone’s task was, and you can’t really get that from one or two perspectives. Great video, looking forward to the rest of the series.

this is the first time i’ve watched more than lizzie and grian’s (occasionally scott and cleo’s as well but not too often) perspectives and i didn’t get bored once!! this is such a genius idea

I never would've guessed that Joel was plugging the merch for his task. He's just like that so it fit so well. I'm excited to see how the tasks evolve over the series and how difficult it is to pull some of them off, like getting Scar to talk about SW or Big Hole VS copy someone's base or be within 10 blocks of Gem for 10 minutes. And how each player will be able to play it off like with Joel, Grian, and Impulse their task fit with their personality so it didn't seem off at all vs BigB being weird about the big hole and Etho being weird about the beds
Tango was extra clever he also got Scar to help him dig his base out too.

I just realised scar got so much stuff because you get items equal to the excess hearts you would get, and so scar got like 14 items instead of 4.

9:46 This may not go with the spirit of the task, but my initial solution would be to make 4 beds, break other peoples beds, and replace those with the ones you had previously crafted. Alternatively, you could make 4 beds, and 'gift' them to anyone still lacking their own beds. Ideally in a relatively tight cluster, so you can break them as quickly as possible, when the opportunity presents itself.

pretty sure the way the rewards work is the less hearts you lose, the less hearts it gives you (max of 10 hearts) and each heart from the 10 you didnt get is turned into some sort of item type reward instead

Surprised Etho's close calls didn't make it in the video. He broke the bed got caught without specifically being called out since it was an "accident" due to "not knowing" the correct entrance(which ended up being HIS 'chimney' idea!). Then he broke the bed and left without picking it up and had to sneak in AGAIN! That part of his video was so chockful of suspense haha! This series idea was ingenious! I inherently draw towards collab series and the 'life' series is the gift that keeps giving.
Ah I totally should have included that! I included some peoples fails but not every single one.
I wonder how many are here for BigB with his hole confusion🤣
His task was actually quite simple and most of his weirdness was after turning in his reward which makes it even more strange
