Live at the BBC cover songs threw me way off. 34/50, but of all the songs from their real albums, I missed only a few, kicking myself that I couldn’t spit out Only a Northern Song fast enough. And then Tomorrow Never Knows is always one that I confuse with Inner Light
Ha, exactly. Missed the old cover songs and the fan club birthday track. But the only "real" Beatles song I couldn't get was Only A Northern Song. I knew the extract instantly, but couldn't place it. "From Yellow Submarine!" was all I could blurt out.
I guessed 22/50 of them correct. The problem for me was that most of these were their earlier songs and I’m not a huge fan of their earlier songs. I like their later stuff much better.
@@livewire2759 That's fair. Although, I think the reason why I like their later stuff better has more to do with the tone because at first they were just essentially spoiled kids where a lot of their songs were about how everyone loves them. Whereas their later stuff was, I personally thought, much more interesting just in terms of themes. And while their earlier stuff was more self focused love (i.e. Love Me Do, I Feel Fine, Please Please Me, and even A Hard Day's Night, etc.), their later stuff was much more about universal love or caring about everyone (i.e. With A Little Help From My Friends, Octopus's Garden, Sun King, All You Need Is Love, etc.). Also, I personally just find them to be more interesting musically speaking. Even if it's not psychedelic like Penny Lane for example.
@@nathanielschwartz425 That makes sense. It's not like I don't care for ANY of their later stuff. I prefer the older songs because they were more like the original rock and roll sound, which I like, but there are lots of later songs I like even more than their early stuff. Penny Lane is one of them, and Let It Be is probably my most favorite Beatles song of all... but only the album version with George's fantastic guitar solo. LOL
@@livewire2759 Yeah Let It Be is amazing. And the solo is really fun to play. Although I only know how to play one of the solos. I think it's the original, I'm not sure, it's the solo that you hear on their greatest hits (the album 1). And I also LOVE the song The Long And Winding Road.
@@nathanielschwartz425 I think the "1" version of Let It Be is the original "single" version, but that album has a lot of remixing on it, so who knows...
31/50. I absolutely nailed the first half but really struggled with the second half. Mainly because most of them were quite obscure earlier tracks that I am not as familiar with. Still fun to do and thanks for uploading!
Got 41/50. Had trouble with some of the early BBC stuff. A few of the songs I didn't know it was the Beatles but recognized the song itself so got it that way. There is another you tube video floating around where a guy uses between .25 and 1 second of the recording to identify songs. Now that was hard. I think I got 8/15 right one that one.
You used songs not on their albums and I think that makes it unreasonably difficult. Also, that very very annoying backround music along with the loud beeping made it too hard to think if you did not get the song immediately. Having hard ones in a lineup is fine, but you steered away from too many of their best songs!
He also chose sometimes obvious parts and didn't get the names completely right on some. Ex: Lucille (Clip shown has the BBC presenter literally saying the name of the song and then also spelling it as Lucile lmao)
Help. Don t let me down, Obladi, Strawberry fields, Penny Lane, Yesterday, Blackbird, Hello Goodbyu, Hey, Bulldog, Let it be(album version) , all together now, For no one, She said, Tomorrow never knows, it's all too much, Dr. Robert... Tired:) check yourself. The Beatles forever!
I am a huge fan of early Beatles, but I didn't even knew 9 of the titles that appeared here. I guess it's time I listened to all those pre-Beatles songs. My score is 37/50.
Great quiz. The Beeb stuff was a clever insert, but you missed a beat with the Decca and Star Club tracks. Shout!, Bad to Me and Leave My Kitten Alone would have been interesting additions, but maybe next time!
38/50 Missed its all too much and it’s only a northern song because I rarely listen to yellow submarine lol what a shame missed all the live in bbc ones too lol
Songs I guessed on first try: 1. Help! 2. Don't let me down 3. Obladi oblada 4. Strawberry fields forever 5. Penny lane 6. Yesterday 7. Blackbird 8. Hello goodbye 9. Hey bulldog 10. Let it be 11. 41 or 42 of 50, didn't get many of the BBC since I rarely listen to the sessions, and am I the only one who hates it when you know the lyric to a song and your brain is like, well you don't get to know the name
missed 11, but thas me coming back to the beatles after attempting to find similar music. What I found? Klaatu, Tame Impala, The Drums and Genesis. almost good.
I was doing ok. The songs I didnt get I never cared for anyway. When you got into the very early stuff I ran out of fingers. I probably ended up knowing more than half.
Aside from the ones when they sang the titles ("I'm a Loser", I Wanna Be Your Man", etc.), this was a great challenge. Starting at about 5 minutes in you started playing things I could never give you the titles of. Well done! (If you think I'm a newbie I was at Second Shea, and I still own a 1964 copy of "In His Own Write."
Not fair. Even Paul does not remember the BBC stuff ;D

41 out of 50
I guessed 22/50 of them correct. The problem for me was that most of these were their earlier songs and I’m not a huge fan of their earlier songs. I like their later stuff much better.
I'm just the opposite. I prefer their earlier stuff but never cared for the psychedelic stuff or the wild experimental stuff either.

Missed 6, mostly the BBC stuff. I knew the tunes, couldn't get the song title. Good job on this, you went deep which made it challenging. Thanks!
A shot of rhythm & blues
41/50. Im so proud of myself. And im only 14
missed 14 and knew but didn’t remember the name of 4. But well i’m 14 so I guess I still have time to learn! Very cool guiz btw

I am 14 too! I love the Beatles so much...I have the same "problem", I have to learn some more songs because I didn't know many of them

The early BBC stuff wasn't fair to include lol- did love the freebies where you used a clip that had the title in it LOL
I never heard any of the BBC recording I was stun.
Penny lane
Come on... a lot of these weren't even "Beatles" songs, they were other people's songs performed live by the Beatles.
Why only play isolated vocals for "For no One"?
48/50 Just missed the Happy Birthday one and Clarabella
Know the ones from the albums but some recordings totaly obscure looked them up never released in the UK American quiz!!!

Some of that obscure BBC stuff like the Sat. B-day Club and that scrap of the guys goofing on Moonlight Bay was unfair. Otherwise, super easy.
