This would be an actual difficult quiz for Beatles fans if you took out all the consonants in the questions, gave only one second to answer, gave no multiple choice, and we have to hold our breath underwater the whole time.

I got 8 out of ten right. Did not know 700 hour album or who Saxie Sadie was. I'm 70 years old and was glued to the TV on February 9, 1964. I washed the grease out of my hair and cut straight bangs that night; I got sent to the school principal's office the next morning, told to comb my hair out of my eyes. Became a professional musician (bass guitar and guitar) still to this day!

A valiant attempt. However, a truly difficult Beatles quiz would include questions more along these lines:
    No multiple choice. Answers below.
    1. What is the only song credited Lennon/Harrison?
    2. What was the working title for 'Tomorrow Never Knows'?
    3. What do the cover of 'Revolver' & The Plastic Ono Band have in common?
    4. What is the only song with different vocal takes used on the British & American versions?
    5. Which of the Beatles does NOT play keyboards on Rubber Soul?
    6. What was unique about the way Ringo played drums?
    7. According to the other three, who was the one who NEVER screwed up in the studio?
    8. What brand of Amps did they use?
    9. Sgt. Pepper's was recorded on a machine with how many tracks?
    10. What is the only song credited to all four?
Extra Credit: John, Paul & George all owned Epiphone Casinos. Who owned the one with the Bigsby tail piece?
    1. 'Cry for a Shadow', an instrumental on 'The Beatles with Tony Sheridan'.
    2. Mark 1
    3. Klaus Voorman. He drew the cover & was Bassist in the band.
    4. Help! Capitol Records thought the original vocal sounded too gritty so used an alternate take.
    5. George
    6. Ringo is left-handed but plays a drum kit set up for right-handers.
    7. Ringo
    8. Vox, almost exclusively. Towards the end they tried other amps in the studio.
    9. A 4 Track. Just think about that for a minute.
    10. 'Flying', an instrumental on 'Magical Mystery Tour'.
Extra Credit. No one is certain since there are pictures of all 3 playing it and it is known that the Casino Paul had at that time was a righty model that he strung upside down.

    Two points:
1.) Actually, before Pete Best, Paul would be the percussionist when the band was in-between drummers; technically making Sir Paul the group's original drummer.
2.) Ringo does not play the drums on "Love Me Do" as it's heard on the band's first album, "Please Please Me." George Martin hired studio musician Andy White to play drums on the song; Ringo was relegated to playing the tambourine on that tune. Look for the song version without the tambourine ("Past Masters" or "Rarities") to hear Ringo actually playing the drums.

Pete Best was their first long term/permanent drummer, that is of course, until they met Ringo. But technically, their first ever drummer was Colin Hanton, when they were still The Quarrymen. They had many drummers, including Paul and Mike McCartney, but most of them only lasted a few months. Pete lasted the longest. I thought the quiz was going to have Colin Hanton as a possible answer.

10 out of 10...actually 11 out of 10. The Beatles went to Rishikesh in February of 1968 not the summer of 1967. Back in the 90s my daughter who was then about twenty at the time went on a cruise and they had a nightly trivia game and my daughter was selected to play. The subject she drew was "The Beatles Trivia". The way the game went was you'd win $10 for every correct answer and would keep playing until you had an incorrect answer and the one at the end with the most money also won a bunch of other prizes. My daughter got up there and answered one hundred questions in a row without a miss. The emcee asked her how she knew all the answers and she said she didn't know how she knew but growing up with me as her father the answers all just jumped into her head. The next night they played a game where you had to sing the next line to a song and my daughter drew "1960s Motown" and again knocked it out of the park. The emcee asked..."Your father again?" and my daughter said:"No. My mother. My entire life Saturday mornings she'd do her housework and play old Motown". Parents have a lot more influence on their kids than they even realize.

Actually, depending on you want to go, the correct answer to #8 is All of the Above...
-Yesterday: "I'm not half the man I used to be" is an admission that the replacement will never truly be Paul
-Hey Jude: Paul's death is the sad song, secretly replacing him made it better
-Penny Lane: The royal portrait in the fireman's pocket is hush money to hide the accident

They actually used a lot of drummers before Pete Best became member of the band, but they did not last more than one to a few gigs: Tommy Moore (1960), Johnny Hutchinson (1960, 1962), Cliff Roberts (may 1960), Norman Chapman (1960)

I got them all before the choices were even posted... but one of them actually has many correct answers... The 'Paul is dead' lyric clues are all over the place; A Day In The Life, She's Leaving Home, Don't Pass Me By, I'm Only Sleeping, Tomorrow Never Knows, Revolution Number Nine and Glass Onion all had lines interpreted as referring to the Death of Paul... "Now here's another clue for you all.... the Walrus was Paul." And there are also scores of visual clues in album cover art!

  • @gusfring9895

Too easy. But then, I was born right about the time the Beatles were in Hamburg honing their act. I remember watching the Beatles cartoon show before I knew anything about bands and rock music. My first conscious memory was the broadcast of the rooftop concert in 1970.
Here's the test of a true Beatles fan: If you've ever heard and/or own "You Know My Name (Look Up the Number) and the German Language versions of "She Loves You (Sie Liebt Dich)" and "I Want to Hold Your Hand (Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand)" which they recorded as a thank you to the people in Hamburg. If you can find copies of "Past Masters Volumes 1 & 2", you'll find a number of other rare gems such as "Rain", the B-Side of "Paperback Writer" which is one of my most favorite songs of all time. Paul's bass line is incredible, maybe his best ever. I'm a bass player, so I'm a little biased. The US and UK versions of "Rarities" also contain these songs as well as (slightly) alternate versions of other songs. It's amazing how their music has withstood the test of time.

Despite the popular mythology, Pete best was not their first drummer. They had a hell of a time holding onto drummers in the early years. Even Pete was on-again-off-again. Before him was Colin Hanton, Tommy Moore and Norman Chapman. Colin was the Quarymen drummer before Paul or George even joined. Technically, that wasn't the Beatles...or was it? It was John, Paul and George, after all. "A rose by any other name" don'cha know.
Also, while "Strawberry Fields" was part of the Paul is dead rumors, it most likely started with the line from "A Day in the Life, "He blew his mind out in a car." The rumor that started after SPLHCB was released in '67 and spread heavily around college campuses in '69, came to my S.F. radio station soon after. At the time, I fully believed it. It was my first conspiracy theory! Wikipedia has a pretty good article on it.
I scored 8 of 10 because of those disputes with the quiz's answers. Otherwise, as an old Beatles fan, I naturally found this quiz to be super easy.

Nice job on video, however, the most novice fan would know some of these questions. A true fan,( meaning someone somewhat obsessed, ) would know... Was John near- or far- sighted? What chord did John & Paul learn after riding buses to far side of Liverpool? Was Ringo ambidextrous? Did George take guitar lessons?

This quiz [and research] needs some work.
    1. The Beatles' first drummer was Johnny Hutchinson who lasted for ONE song. He was replaced by Tommy Moore. George Harrison stated that Moore was the best drummer the Beatles ever had. After Moore left the group, Paul became the drummer and was occasionally replaced by either John Lennon or George Harrison.
Pete Best was signed as a drummer because the Beatles next gig in Hamburg required a 5-piece band.
    3. At the end of "I'm So Tried," John can be heard mumbling backward: "Paul is a dead man," repeatedly.
    5. Paul recorded "Yesterday" independently. All it was, was Paul on acoustic guitar which George Martin later added a string quartet.
