I bought the Plymouth version of this car back in 1990. Mine was a 1989 Plymouth Horizon America. I drove it since new for 17 years. I had a 120 round trip commute every day with it. I took that car everywhere. It was my pickup truck on weekends too. At 440,000 miles the 2.2 blew up. I put a new crate engine in it from the dealership and drove it up to 932,000 miles before I took it to the junk yard. Sadly. It still ran good. But, it looked horrible. They gave me $200 for it. It handled like a rally car. The maintenance was insanely minimal. The timing belt took 10 mins to change. The secret to longevity is on time oil changes. Every 3,000 miles. No excuses. I miss my little rally K car. Thanks for the video.
No problem. Original timing belt gave out on it and bent the valves at around 55k. After I sold it the new owner blew it up a couple years later. Time for an LS swap.
In Europe we knew this car as a Talbot/Simca Horizon, later it became the Crysler Horizon and indeed the rally version was from Cosworth. Greetings from the Netherlands.
This has broken timing belt n bent valves when I got it. $250 and I drove it for almost 10 years. Sold it and the kid blew it up a couple years later so now it's going to get an LS.
*FIND A PT CRUISER WITH A FACTORY Turbo is a High Output 2.4 liter, twin cam 16-valve I-4 that, with the turbo boost, puts out 215 horsepower and 245 pound-feet of torque.AN THATS A STOCK ECU AN NO FLEX FUEL SENSOR! GBYAA!!!!!!!!*
Traded an omni for a diplomat with the slant 6. Maybe some day ill get that turd running again but to be honest its kinda cool to just watch it rust bsck into the ground. 😂
@@themishapgarage3403 brakes are shot, quarters are rusty, none of the lights work, and it won't go into 2nd gear. She fires right up and runs smooth as butter.

Awesome! Here they were either Dodge Omni or Plymouth Horizon. Very cheaply built and didn't last long at all. Thanks for stopping by.
91 for me. 50$ back lot special. It ran but kept throwing timing belt. Turned the cam gear around and drove it two years.

It's been at least 25 years. My ex-girlfriend had one
They just disappeared off the face of the earth
Owned. A 79. Omni. Loved. That. Car. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
They are fun but absolutely terrible cars.
I wanted a Dodge omni as my first car, but my dad told me that was a bad idea.
It was a bad idea. They are unreliable money pits but I still did it anyway.
Saw a GLH-S the other day...belongs to somebody I know
Wow!! I've never even seen one in person

I miss my Plymouth horizon 1990
They're fun but just terrible at the same time.
Big deal, I've got a 86 Omni GLH Turbo. No rust, perfect interior, and less than 60,000 miles.
Awesome dude!

Guarantee the engine will fire right up. Can't kill those things!

Where's the Shelby version?
Good luck. I've never even seen one in person.
My mom gave me a dodge Omni in 1985/86
What ever happened to it?
