Thank you! I received a cut n scan from daughter for Christmas. Today she gave me a carrying/storage case and the engraving tool. This is the first engraving video I watched and answered all my question. And lemon essential oil will take sticky tape residue off metal. Rubbing alcohol and pure olive oil will also work with a bit more effort.
Thank you so much. I am new to the Scan-N-Cut community after a failed attempt a few years ago. I purchased a brand new machine and am now enjoying myself. This video has got me even more excited. Looking forward to trying my first bracelet.
again another great video, thank you very much. I had purchased the tools a little while back and this has motivated me to give it a go. Enjoy your coffee.
Thanks John that was great. I've just purchased the Zoom and extra bracelets for my Daughters Birthday so I'll include your video. However, I know I'm being a bit dense but I can't find the download on you blog, can you give me an idiot proof direction please. Thanks again.
Interesting. Looks good. Great tutorial. I just ordered a laser engraver and am now thinking I should have gone for a scan and cut. Can it engrave photos in metal?
Hello John, can you please tell me if the Precision Engraving Tool will work with the Scan n cut cm300, don't want to go out and buy the tool and find out it does not work. Thank you and that was a great video.
Hi John, are the instructions the same for a CM machine, apart from the lever position? Also, does it etch into perspex/wood/leather etc? Thank you in advance.
Hi John I loved your in-depth video and bought the zoom kit after watching your demonstration. What would you recommend using to highlight the sentiment ? I tried a Sharpie but when I cleaned it up it removed it.
Some folk use enamel pens but this will likely depend on what material you are engraving into. I prefer the naked look so haven't explored this too much at this time.
Hi John, thank you for your demonstration I have the cm300 and couldn’t manage to get it to work. I’m thinking of upgrading to allow me to do this are the latest models able to use this too? Sdx 135 pro in particular x. Thank you in advance
Hello John! Is the Scan N Cut DX1200 the latest model? Does it do the most compared to other models? Thank you for sharing your creative talents with so many of us!!

Fantastic! Will try it. Do you have any suggestion for buying metal pieces? Thank you!
Thank you for sharing another great tutorial.
How well does the Zoom engraver tool work with plastics, leather (real & fake), glass, clay, etc?
It will likely work with some of those substrates.
Thank for this informative info.
Fab tutorial. Where did you purchase the jig please? Can’t see any similar online. Thank you.
It came from the same place as the engraving tool. Zoom.
Such a great tutorial John thank you so much 🥰❤
Great video, thank you.
Wonderful lesson 👏
Thanks John, Very informative demo. Who knew? QUESTION: Can I make this work on ny Brother DESIGN N CUT machine? I'm itching to give this a go!
I'm afraid I don't think it's possible as if I remember correctly the Design N Cut doesn't have a scanner.

Yes it will.
Thank you for the reply
Thank you so much for this video.
Hi John, are the instructions the same for a CM machine, apart from the lever position?
Also, does it etch into perspex/wood/leather etc? Thank you in advance.
Yes, should be roughly the same for CM machines. I imagine it would etch into perspex but not sure about leather or wood.
Great tutorial thank you
Can you tell me what model scan n cut you are using please?
SDX1200 but this will work with any CM or SDX model.
Try using "Goo Gone" or something of similar name. It will clean off all the residue. Almost leave the metal feeling slick to the touch.
Can you use the zoom engraving tool to engrave an apple silicone watch band?
I'm not sure on the thickness of the band so can't really say for sure.
Great video does this work on the brother sdx model as ive found that the bar on my holder wont go down
I use the sdx model in the video, so, yes.

What a brilliant tutorial John. Is that a brother tool or an external company?
External.
John, a great video, can you use this with a CM900 and will there metal pieces left that can get into the Machine?
Yes and there are very few shavings with my method. These can be wipes away with a cloth or picked up with tape.
Hi John, thank you for your demonstration I have the cm300 and couldn’t manage to get it to work. I’m thinking of upgrading to allow me to do this are the latest models able to use this too? Sdx 135 pro in particular x. Thank you in advance
All models will work with it.
thank you for the video - do you have a recommended source for the metal blanks please
Zoom precision
Will the blanks fit in the older scan and cuts like CM550?
I don't think so, as the CM range has a lower height clearance.
@@GentlemanCrafterUK ok, thank you.
Hello John! Is the Scan N Cut DX1200 the latest model? Does it do the most compared to other models? Thank you for sharing your creative talents with so many of us!!
It is not the latest model however it does have the vast majority of features.
Will this work on a CM 650 scan & cut?
Yes.
Are u aware that the right side is upside down of the one n the left?
That would depend on which way you look at it.
Can we use Arabic and Farsi letters?
If they can be used in Canvas Workspace (as a true type font) then yes, I believe that they could.
Can you use this tool to do this with a older Scan and Cut
Yes
Can you do this on the SDX225F?
Yes.
Do you need to go thru canvas to do this
It makes the job MUCH easier.
where do you buy the zoom tool ?
From the Zoom Precision website, Amazon or Etsy. It depends where you are in the world.
