Nowaday I only seldom browse YT for plugin checks. Too often the words don't match what I hear. It seems like your ears are tools to trust. I appreciate that you're saying what you actually are able to hear. That's rare on YT, in particular when a new plugin is tested in action. I also hear the transients are mangled with too much. That's true for other videos about Silencer, where it was not mentioned. Thank you.
Silencer is great! However, it DOES NOT work with Waves SuperRack Performer. I have contacted Black Salt about it and they responded they don’t know why it’s not working. We have communicated via email several times and they said they were trying to fix it but the last email I got said they weren’t able to fix it. This is a BIG deal for me.
@danymalsound I need to learn more about the side chain method. Particularly if it achieves similar results. Would be great to show for those who don’t have Slate.
@@delmixedit in a nutshell, pending one's gate plugin features, it entails sidechaining the gate to keyspikes, which are created from MIDI off the original track. The idea is that the keyspike then allows far greater control over the gate. Lots of metal guys use FF Pro-G for this, but since I don't have that (yet), I'm using MH Channel Strip with acceptable results 🙏🏻
So the way the ghost note button is supposed to work is that you're meant to automate it on and off when a ghost note comes in.
Yes, but it brings other stuff with it, so it’s still not perfect and will require additional finesse for some.

My pleasure. I’m sure this is why some companies refrain from reaching out to me 😂😂😂
@@delmixedit stay true to yourself, man. Not to a company. 🤗
The Ghost function is meant to be used with automation
Might as well right automation myself in that case

Have you tried deBleed to see if it works?
@@delmixedit I have not tried deBleed yet. Silenced works great in other apps like Logic or ProTools or Reaper just not SuperRack.
Oxford Drum Gate was the first of these and I think it is the best.
Indeed they were! Their marketing department just isn’t good.
@@delmixedit Agreed!!
yeah buddy! Stuff like this is why I've finally gone down the sidechaining rabbithole with gates haha
Have you done a video on this?
@@delmixedit nah, I haven't made an actual video in quite some time :/

@danymalsound sounds similar to what I’ve heard in love sound where the trigger isn’t actually for a trigger sound. It’s for the gate.
I chose oxford
That’s a good one indeed.
