I started off as an electronic producer and I've always wished there was something like this so I could process my live drum tracks in that fully unrestricted way samples allow. I don't think I've ever been so hyped over a plugin in my life. Actual, true game changer
Well... from what I see, the ghost button is like bypassing the plugin. So, the process (and the time consumption) is similar to having the usual gate plugin and automating the bypass when the ghost notes occur. It's useful, but it's not a game changer, yet. It would be a game changer if the ghost button could recognize the ghost notes by itself, without the need for manual automations. That would truly revolutionize things. Perhaps it will be possible in future versions. By the way, it's a very cool plugin.
@@tutubeos Automating the bypass button of a plugin causes clicks and pops sometimes. I usually automate the threshold. It's way more convenient to have a button inside of the plugin.

Silencer rocks as a drum gate obviously, but it's actually a great all around gate as well. Ive used it on guitars, particularly on single coils that get some interference, and this cleans that up very nicely. Also have used it in a live setting on vocals via Mainstage to cut down on cymbals in the vocal mics. There's some magic under the hood here.
If this is fairly priced , this plug -in alone should make you a load of $$$. I know I'm going to get it. I'm an audio engineer who plays drums , and this has gotta be hands down the best gate I've ever heard.
I’ve been really excited for this since the announcement! Every other drum gate I’ve tried is either too complicated or just not good enough. I’m not even going to demo it, just going to add to cart immediately.
I'm new to the whole mixing/production world I've started this as a hobby having been a drummer for 35yrs and now finally have the ability to record at home. I appreciate my opinion may not carry much weight but I just got the trial for this and WOW! So simple to use, it's made such a huge difference to how my kit sounds on recording, the definition increase on the individual drums is so much clearer and it's so quick and easy to use.

Didn't even realize this was your company when I bought the plugin. I've tried many alternative bleed removal practices after DeBleeder stopped working for newer macs and this is the first one that actually got the job done. superb!

A lot of plugins that are said to "change the way" you do anything, I find that they might be cool but aren't game changing. Silencer is the exception for sure. So crazy how effective and simple it is to use and automate. Definitely a go to to kill bleed on all my drums.
My former go to:s were Drum Leveler, Smart:Gate and Multi Band Gate. Tried out Silencer last night and it's a winner since it sounds the most natural to me, is the fastest one to work with and the one that allows me to crank the treble knob on the snare drum mic the most before the hihat bleed pisses me off. A definite buy for me.

I thought "Game Changer" was clickbait. It may be an understatement. I used the trial on a mix that I was already really proud of and we spent a lot of time getting really good drum sounds at the source but because of cymbal bleed and it's just my standard workflow we loaded up the big phat sounding kick and snare samples. Well now I'm running it back with NO samples at all (I am sidechaining a sample into it as a trigger but it's turned down to zero) and I swear it sounds BETTER than the mix we sent for mastering! Immediately purchased it. I haven't bought a new plugin in years but this is literally a brand new type of tool. I wouldn't be surprised if we started hearing a lot more live drum mixes in general because of this. You may have saved rock n' roll 🤔

I would love to see u make a plugin for acoustic guitar processing. Eq, saturation, compression setting that are usually used. Maybe a three knob plugin. Just a thought.
I kind of like all the bleed from my drum mic's, but I can see the need to gate them for some stuff. For example, in my experience, the snare mic, alone, is not sufficient for representing the snare drum as a whole. I have written my own code for drum-sample replacement triggering. By definition, it gates the source. Worked perfectly.
Sounds great! Being a bit of nerd, the only thing that bugs me is that I'm not exactly sure what's going on under-the-hood, but that seems to be part of the point here. The quick and easy result definitely speaks for itself... and I cannot perceive any fidelity loss with the de-bleed on tame settings. In other words, this is badass!
I'm 95% sure it's probably using a demixing machine learning model. This kind of stuff just isn't possible with just traditional signal processing, and machine learning has already been used for demixing with extremely good results (just see the release of the Beatles' Revolver as an example of this).
Allright tested it for a few hours and I'm thoroughly impressed! Are there already existing options that would give me the same results? Absolutely, BUT. This took less than 5 seconds while I'd have to tweak those other options ror several minutes! Also since I have both trials active, I was wondering if I would choose this over Sonible smart filter.. And my conclusion? I need both! Chaining those 2 together is absolutely NUCLEAR on harder material like poorly mic'd toms, as they have different strenghts that actually complement each other. Basically, Sonible can separate specific kit pieces by learning the material, while Silencer has superior de-bleeding with a lot less tweaking time.
Snare bottom, it gated out all the cool ghost notes that I always try to keep. Without those ghost notes and vibe, it just sounds like programmed drums.
Seems like something better from the combination of sonnox gate and drumatom. I would be more than happy to try it! Good job and very simple interface!
Sounds great! Great job, ive been using this gate thats on a guitar amp/cab emulation for everything from vocals to drums because it just works lmaoo bypass the cab and amp and just use the gate, this sounds great!
bye bye money, but it'll be worth it. had a session the other week where the drummer was very dynamic and no matter how hard I tried when I used oxford gate or AIX DSP it was just too much of a pain to extract the best out of the ghost notes. I haven't sent him the session back yet so I'm signing up for that trial and am gonna apply it to this mix. deadline early october when he's retired BTW if you're wondering

Hey Jordan, great results with this plugin far. But having some display issues regarding the size of this plugin every time I open it. It's way to big. Reduces workflow having to downsize each time before use. Cubase 13. Windows 11.

Ok wow... I was a bit skeptical about how this was any different than other similar options, and then you pressed the Ghost button! Where as this been all my life 😅? For reference I'm currently running an old project that was recorded in less than ideal conditions through Sonible's Smart Gate and while I'm getting results that are miles ahead of what I could do a few years ago, there is still a tiny bit of bleed on really loud sessions... I'm definitely checking this when it comes out!

The snare sounds identical to the one on face down by red jumpsuit apparatus. Always loved the drum mixing on that one

This gate is a timesaver (time is money). I thing Klevgrand had similar gate (Brusfri) but for noisy guitar post FX, post high-gain hiss.
