Great video, Marlon! Another winner to throw on the ever-growing pile of compressor plugins I own. ;-)
They don't get any further money from till they not fixed the cutting of the initial transient in their gate plugin. Last thing I heard is that he said in comment that it wouldn't cut the transient but it's clearly audible, especially on snares.
Heard of the issue, but haven't noticed it myself. I use it with and without sidechaining, but never had an issue with it

His aim is to make it simple as possible to not lose time dialing in knobs. But its not for every scenario of course. DSR is two knobs. escalator is one. Softube’s bus processor i like on drums. You can add air dial in the comprression you like and saturate it softly.

I can only imagine that it's based around 2 specific presets from the Waves SSLComp. "Punch" for the STANDARD setting and "Pumping" for the SLAMMED setting. Those are Jordan's go-to for his drum buss and parallel drum buss channels.
