Dude, the stuff PH has is complete garbage. Do a search. There's a company has "LIVE ACTION" videos designed with the GEAR VR in mind (180 degree head tracking in near perfect 3D) . I downloaded a few and they are so good I felt guilty...My brain was almost completely fooled into thinking I was there. I can't believe how awesome it was and this isn't even the consumer version of the Rift.

I've had it for a few days now and I'm still blown away when I enter into the Oculus Cinema and watch a video on the moon or the movie theater. It's so strange and incredible. There is truly no way to accurately describe how it feels to be in this thing. It has to be experienced first hand. This is our future man. Great video!

Good review. I just got this, waiting for it to come in the mail and man, I can't wait! Only thing is that when I tried it out at Best Buy some of the movies were pixelated but I since found out that's because of the compression they used to get it to fit on the SD Card. I'm showing it to everyone with a iPhone 6 Plus until one of them switch to Note 4 lol

This is the coolest thing I've bought since nintendo 64. Mind blowing. When the phone gets to hot I switch out my battery and I'm good to go. If anyone has any problems with it fogging up just warm it up on the heater first.

+Flossy Carter if you get a call or something while using the VR does it interrupt what your're doing and hurt your eyes?
This might be a silly question but from the first person view videos of this, there's 2 screens, side by side showing the same thing. Is it like that when you're watching using the gear, or is that just how it's displayed on the screen? i.e. When you put on the gear is there 1 image or 2?
Also Floss, you can download SBS stereoscopic 3D to watch in the oculus cinema. Definitely adds to the experience as well and makes it more worth the price of admission.
Btw this is the innovator edition, which is almost like saying it's a development kit. The standard Gear vr will come out later this year or early 2016 and will probably be compatible with more (samsung?) phones.

yo floss im about to place the order for this gear vr but i'm worried about the visible "pixels" on screen. I went and tried it out at bestbuy but you could definitely see some pixels while using it. Do you think their will be an update to get rid of them and see some real HD video on the vr? I really liked it but im not sure if i should wait for an update or if samsung is going to make a new vr that will get rid of those pixels.

Dude, at 30 seconds in I could already tell this review was like 100x better than most of the Gear VR reviews out there. Most of them just talk about how cool it is, and show footage. They don't even talk about the features or the pros and cons.

So i am a HUGE movie fan, i watch Movies and Series for days. I got a HD beamer and a surround sound set on my room, Amazing experience! Now my questions is, Will watching movies with a Good pair of headphones and this Gear VR deliver a better movie experience? And i don't think it supports surround sound, does it?

Your reviews are really nice! I have a plastic version of google cardboard but my phone doesnt have a gyroscope so i can only use limited apps. I can watch any movie from my phone i just need an application then play the movie using that app and you can watch it on your vr

Hey check your (baseband version) on about phone setting. If it ends ANK1 ANK2 or ANK3 then it will work. If not forget about it until it's released in your country or area.

Flossy Carter I know this is an old video now but I've just finally bought the gear vr... just wanted to say thanks for not showing how it looks on your review. First time putting it on and it was quite simply out of this world. Can't beat your own cinema or even sitting on the moon with popcorn by your side lol. It's annoying when it gets hit but it is what it is.

I have the GEAR VR and you can use any head phones you want as long as they can plug into the NOTE 4.

Hey Floss, I've got google cardboard and I get these round black wall edges around the corner of my eye sight like im looking through a hole, is there any of that with the Samsung Gear? Or does it completely cover your field of vision?
Definitely not dude. I had these same questions when I was reluctant to pay 200 bucks to have the same pos field of view. Google cardboard is like 40-50° field of view and the gear vr occupies 96°

I so want this! but its not available yet in Canada. When that happens i'm definitely blazing a fat one for my first and probably every experience lol. VR is the future and the end of theatres and other spaces. You can watch a movie that's in the theatre at home for free. I cant' wait for the gaming part of it and playing a game like GTA V, which is possible but not officially out.

PS4 controller works with the emulator games so most likely it will work with the VR. The sixaxis app I remember worked only if rooted. But the PS4 controller works while plugged into the phone tho.

Hi Floss. I have a little question: On the Samsung page it says that this product has the built in fan that prevents fog. On the other hand you said that it is fogging a bit from time to time so there is a little contradiction. Is there a fan or not? Or is a different version?

Great Review Bro, That's the way this should be reviewed. I received mine 2 days ago. I can't stand watching other reviewers hating on the pixel density and res being low. (screen door affect). I mean until we get to 6k or above and the pixel dens is above 1000's ppi -dpi which won't happen for quit a while.
For now this is amazing for the 98% of people out there wanting to experience something out of this world.
P.S. Don't know if you knew but you can put a piece of tape on the proximity sensor so it wont reset every time you put it on. Bluetooth Sync Headphones is killer as well no sync issues.
