Great video! Maybe I have been mistaken but, the Synapse Floaters, as a unit will always be a level 1 caster, regardless of the number of models in the unit. They are still very powerful but only gain one spell token a round. :)
Hey, I'm still watching the video so apologies if you answer this later on. You said that competetive OPR should be played at 3000 points as that is closer to the standard in 40k. I'm assuming there are some underlying reasons why you think the 40k standard size is the best size. Can you explain that please? Is it to do with being able to take a decent variety of units so that balance is better?
2000 points really causes problems with balance validation where some armies can't include units because they are slightly above the max unit cost limit. OPR it's not nearly as complex and so lends itself to higher point games. Larger points do help with balance as well.
The frustrating part isn't that they're so unbalanced, it's that if you mention this to the reddit or discord you'll get swarmed with naysayers who struggle to imagine opr can be unbalanced. It's a beautiful system, but absolutely allows for broken armies even at the casual level.
Looking at your criteria for what makes a great army i would be curious to see you do a deep dive on the machine cult. IMO they almost dont cover half that criteria list but you considered them A tier. Lack of Ap4 is the most painful for them to start
@@NexusWargaming that's exciting to hear. I make sure to share your videos with everyone. Your channel should be much bigger with the community of competitive guys that love discussing the same topics
Great question! My friend and I gave these two armies (Firefight size for now, not full army games) and it's been fun trying to adjust our loadouts in response to our games! This series seems awesome and I'm excited to get up to the thousands of points games!
You didn't mention the Shadow Hunter at all. While he has access to a lot of cool abilities, it seems like he suffers from all the usual problems of Tough 6 units.
Thank you! Alien Hives was a difficult army to cover because of so many good units. I think the Shadow Hunter is super solid when souped up with 8 AP 4 attack and a Takedown attack.
@@NexusWargaming i am very confused about that, as i have not no succes with them in my last 3 games (had a pause of opm the last 3 years) it seemed to me that all strong units are more costly now, did at least the mortar beast and spores are a lot weaker it seems, which units are still so strong? a short list of "these units are strong:... would already be helpful as i cant find any tournament army lsit of them. thanks for the comment though ^^, even if you dont have time to anwser my plight xD

Each model counts as caster 1 and they share tokens. So a combined squad would give six tokens per turn. It is a little badly phrased though!
Great in depth video! As a AH main I can admit they are bisted and need some nerfs
I appreciate the honesty! We all just want a better game.

As another example, Knight Brothers can’t take Nemesis Walkers unless you go 3000pts or higher. Actually might be 3500 minimum, I’m not positive.

Well, I just call it like I see it. I like One Page Rules, but the system needs more work
Agreed. As he said, some units just have better streamlined stats, such as Soul Snatchers.

They are good but it was rough placing them. I feel they are a low A. I will do deep dive on them. But it may be a bit! I want to cover all the armies

I faced Alien Hives the other day, using Dark Prime Brothers, and I was the one doing the murdering lol
Dark Brothers are really good! I haven't played their prime version but that dark assault is super good
Can you post the list you used?

It makes me wonder how they fair against Wolf Brothers who all have native Counter-Attack.
I haven’t played wolf brothers yet. But I am thinking about the army. So many armies to work on 😅

I think some things are fixed with 3.3 as i see it now
Yes I’m glad they fixed some of the issues 🙂
Great note they're going to nerf them into the ground. It will be 550 pts for 2 ap1 attacks
Some modest nerfs can bring them in line. We really need more buffs to other armies
@@NexusWargaming this. Some love for HDF would go a long way.
