I too have trouble knowing where to read in the bible first. i tend to gravitate towards the psalms and proverbs because it's a simple pick between all the others books of the bible. but thanks for sharing your view God bless you.
Thanks for sharing…I enjoyed watching your video. Another good resource would be a parallel Bible they have multiple versions of the Bible that’s side by side all at once viewing.

I'm reading the KJV while I let the ESV play on my TV, and the ESV is a pretty accurate translation & a lot easier to understand.
Im thinking of starting my faith i came back from sin and now im trying so hard not to fall again I just need a bible but just like you said I dowloaded the app called youversion and its wonderful thank you so much keep doing what you are doing God bless you 💜
Don’t focus on the sin so much ! Sometimes that’s what messes us up. When I was falling I always focused on not messing up and would find myself messing up 😩 but when I started focusing on positive things and asking God to help me every step…I haven’t fell into that sin since. I always pray “Lord, order my footsteps.” ❤️ as long as you start !! That’s a start !! You can do it !!!

After watching a few RUclips videos on Bible journaling, l have decided to get a book on commentary. There are alot of passages in the Bible that make no sense to me so having the commentary will explain what the passage is all about. Watching from Australia

I also grew up on the kjv and now read the nlt. The niv and esv seem clunky to me so I skip those.

I like the TLV and ESV bibles. My TLV is our family bible and my ESV is my study bible. Just discovered the SOAP note method and I wanna try that out

Great video. I uswd to love nkjv but someone put me on the NASB and that is my #1. The words are very close if not spot on to the strongs concordance (i believe it is a word-for-word translation). If you study with a Strongs concordance next to you NASB is very helpful.

My best friend and I both bought the NLT with foot notes for understanding and then my Nana got me the NIV for Christmas. I usually compare them when I read and for studying a friend recommended “The Purple Book” but I haven’t bought it yet cause I’m trying to figure out how to start studying the Bible 😭😭
You can start at Genesis and try verse mapping ! 💗
The easiest version l have found is the Message or MSG. So easy to understand. Just wanted to share that 😁😁

Go with NKJV !! ❤️ I am glad you asked. I have been using the NLT/NIV for the past several years. Every now and then i Look at the NIV. And last week I was speaking with the Lord about my bible and I mentioned me missing the KJV/NKJV Bible. It’s what I started with and I had a hard time at first but God literally helped me to understand. No way was it me. I kept asking him to help me understand and It helped me grow. I just purchased a new bible in the KJV and I’m so ready to read that translation again. 🥰 The words weren’t changed like the newer translations. And for that reason, that’s why I recommend the older translation.
@@thepurposefulwoman Thank you for quick response. I first Bible is the KJV which is very hard to understand. So I guess I will settle for NKJV even though you said some words are changed. I also seem to understand the NIV which I am not sure if it was tempered with.
Here’s a little trick :
Purchase the NKJV. Download the Bible App on your phone and use the NLT version. That way you can read the NKJV and have the NLT there when you don’t understand. But you can always ask The Holy Spirit and He most definitely will help you understand !! 🥰💖
NKJV & NASB are both very accurate and closest to the original Greek & Hebrew (also the ESV, but my personal preference is NASB & NKJV...I do reference all of them when studying in depth).
