Tips for Reading:
- Plan/have specific goals
- Pray before reading (9:02)
- Highlight and underline verses that stick out to you (9:25)
- Read in a quiet place with no distractions (9:43)
- Find a time (10:11)
- Pair this habit with something you love (10:40)
- Read in community (study group, church, etc) (11:11)
- Commit to reading every day (11:40

@@into.moonlight Honestly the thing that helped me the most was finding my own proper balance and easing myself into it. Whenever I'd try to wake up super early, read my Bible first thing, try to remember to pray multiple times a day, all on top of school, work and extracurriculars, nine times out of ten I would get so overwhelmed and would stop those habits completely for days on end, and would then start the cycle all over again. Once I realized that building these habits (which would lead to a strengthened relationship with God) would definitely not happen overnight, I began to build them slowly. For one week I would only focus on getting into a steady prayer routine, then the next week I'd add on waking up early, then I would find what annotation system worked best for me while studying the Bible, and so on! Since then it's been a thousand times easier to maintain a healthy routine that works well. While slip-ups are inevitable and happen to the best of us, taking it piece by piece will always be the most successful tactic in the end :)

You mentioned having a Christian community, and I totally agree that it’s so important. I didn’t really have a Christian community but now I have friends who support me and pray with me and it is such a good feeling. Praise God for Christian friends!

Ash I don't know if you will read this, but currently I am in a very hard season. Going to spiritual warfare, believing the enemy's lies and I'm very unmotivated to read my Bible. I don't pray often but the rare times this happens I feel like God is listening to me and He is answering my prayers through your videos. For example I struggle to read The Bible and now you post this video about how to read The Bible, I am struggling with being lukewarm and you posted a video about that. There are so many other examples which I won't write here but I just wanted to say thank you Ash. God is using you and you're helping others through your videos. God bless you angel❤

This is exactly what I told my husband today. We’ve been fasting this January and spending time with God in the word and through prayer everyday. And let me tell you, I’ve been a Christian since I was 10 years old and I have never felt the Holy Spirit like I have just today. It was so sudden like a lightbulb and we are so on fire for the Lord. It’s the first time we can actually see God’s purpose for our lives. I love how you explain it and I wish I started reading my Bible sooner ‘cause I’ve missed out on so many years with The Father. Thank you for your channel, it’s helped me so much. 🤗
As a Christian and Bible study leader, I recently moved across the country, and I’ve been praying that God would use me here. I have made some friends who are brand new to the Bible. I know that it’s important to explain to them, but couldn’t put it into words. I believe God woke me up early this morning because this has been really heavy on my heart and I’ve been looking for a video or some thing that I could direct them to online that would help them better understand why it’s important etc. I believe this video is an answer to prayer and God used you very well. I don’t know if you’ll read this, but I want you to know that this is just a gift to us and thank you Lord for bringing it across my path.🥰

I love this so much. I prayed to God to help me to start reading the Bible daily. Seven years later I am still reading daily. Read full books and full testaments. The Holy Spirit helps us to understand the word of God. You are not alone while studying/ reading.

So so true. I’ve been saved for a long time since I was a kid but of course with growing up life happens and I had become lukewarm. Now at 25, it’s definitely a conviction with due to some very poor choices I’ve made recently so I wanted to get back into my word and your video popped up in the search. Thank you so much for this insightful video. I was getting a little overwhelmed with the blue letter Bible app until you suggested to use it as a tool to help gain insights specifically on scripture that sticks out to me. One passage or verse at a time. I love that! ✝️

Thanks so much for making this video! I'm not a new Christian but I've been going through a phase where it is really hard for me to make myself read the Bible (even though I want to). So, basically I really needed this. Also a tip for new Christians: it may be a good idea to read the letters in the new testament (James, Romans etc) before you read the old testament because otherwise it can get a little confusing
