Project Treble was released back in 2017 along with Android Oreo. It is certainly one of the most significant low-level change in the OS. The idea behind the new re-architecture is to separate the Android Framework from the vendor implementation, thus enabling faster software updates for supported devices. It is also the reason why several OEM devices became the first non-Google phones to receive the Android Pie Developer Preview.

just got my oneplus 5 fresh out of the box. It said that andoid 7.0 was the most uptodate op system it could get, so with blood sweat and tears I got andoid 8 on it and 5.0 Oxygen OS but whenever I try to instal the official 9.0 the installation will just fail everytime. (tried recovery mode and clean wipe and everything, no use)

This is the list of supported devices.... No link... Any page you make mention to should have a direct link. The most important part about following a root process is making sure your device can be rooted before you start. Be good at what you do or don't do it.
