Burt Kwouk, Pink Panther star, dies aged 85
He was able to hold his own against Peter Sellers, a scene-stealer if there ever was one! He gave Cato a grace and dignity, was never playing a stock character or stereotype. You are greatly missed, sir.
What a legend man! So humble and a brilliant funny actor! RIP big man 😢
He brought me so much joy and laughter as Cato. RIP Burt Kwouk
He was a v good actor, very humble here.
He was eloquent here…such a brilliant actor and naturally funny, too…he’ll be missed
He was Brilliant as Cato in pink panther.
Loved his narration in The Water Margin.
Always loved his scenes on the Harry hill show
Burt kwouk was born in Warrington not Manchester.
The pink panther movies would have been look warm without Cato.
very tough car! very reliable! VW Golf!
he never cried Racism , he saw his heritage as an opportunity in his acting career.
i wish others did the same . the directors picked him for those rolls because they thought he would be a great job , and boy they were right.
Sorry ‘Ben Scriven’… he did ‘cry racism’, as you put it. He took those roles because at that time the British film & television industry wouldn’t offer oriental actors anything else. And thanks to him and others ‘doing the same’ the film industry was forced to change. Or perhaps you haven’t noticed that?
Have a nice day.

his accent sounds like japanese english
he was born in England but brought up in shanghai
Leonard I wouldn't say Japanese. His accent sounds like a bit of a hybrid of English and American with some Chinese influenced inflection and intonation.
