    He was able to hold his own against Peter Sellers, a scene-stealer if there ever was one! He gave Cato a grace and dignity, was never playing a stock character or stereotype. You are greatly missed, sir.

    The pink panther movies would have been look warm without Cato.

    he never cried Racism , he saw his heritage as an opportunity in his acting career.
    i wish others did the same . the directors picked him for those rolls because they thought he would be a great job , and boy they were right.

      Sorry ‘Ben Scriven’… he did ‘cry racism’, as you put it. He took those roles because at that time the British film & television industry wouldn’t offer oriental actors anything else. And thanks to him and others ‘doing the same’ the film industry was forced to change. Or perhaps you haven’t noticed that?

      Leonard I wouldn't say Japanese. His accent sounds like a bit of a hybrid of English and American with some Chinese influenced inflection and intonation.
