I hated how David and Jane treated Arthur and Pal in this episode I hated how Jane was looking at Arthur after Kate started to cry because she wouldn’t let Kate eat a dirty meatball. The look on her face was saying do you see what you did to your sister and I’m thinking it’s not Arthur’s fault when Kate was the one who gave Paul the meatball and technically Jane you’re the one who made Kate cry, not Arthur. Then obviously like you said David, flat out accused, Paul of eating all the brussels sprouts and that shit crazy on Arthur for that. Then once he realized that Jane had saved the brussels sprouts, and when Arthur asked if Paul could come back inside, David clearly was not happy about saying yes his tone and facial expression said it all. Overall, the first half of the special really should’ve been called FU Jane and David

They're never mentioned before then, or ever again, and it's never clear where they were the whole time. They're there for some very special episode reason. She's there to be the downer because she's lonely, we're supposed to feel sorry for her, but we just want the character to go back to the void from whence she came.

Even so, it is astounding how long it took for a Thanksgiving special of Arthur to be created, and how it was the penultimate special of the series. Being that it was one of the only Arthur episodes to air in 2020, and only seven regular episodes would air during the show's final two seasons.
I mean, ARthur's First Day also came out a bit later, but yeah, this is probably preferable. Heck, I dread having to rewatch D.W.'s Beastly Birthday and that was before I found this channel
Aunt Minnie seems to be an older version of DW as they have similar hair styles, attitude towards Arthur and choices in clothes
She's not mean like DW, I think she is just uncomfortable around children. Also she might neurodivergent and have sensory issues because I am and I hate hugging and sticky things and I'm not particularly affectionate except to my cat.
If the Reads were my family I'm not sure how nice I'd be to them either.

Okay, as someone who was never an avid Arthur watcher (I was already too old for it by the time it started up, which should give you some idea of how *really old* I am), I never knew there were parts where the dog talked. And that seems like a weird concept to layer inside a show that's already about talking animal people~
Thankfully, it's mercifully uncommon, much like the ones that overlap with that concept involving BAby Kate talking as well. I wish I could just erase them from my memory, because the "stock market" episode and the pun was physically painful
