take a shot every time I say "that's cool." honestly these bookshelves were really really cool though and this was so fun - did you see your favourite book on anyone's shelf? What book is now on your tbr? Will we ever know the names and backstories of the mysterious stuffed animals that inhabit these shelves?? lol love you all, hope you have a lovely weekend
i absolutely love this video idea! It feels like an online version of going to someone's house for the first time and taking a look at their bookshelves.
person: writes "this is dracula" on a book to let you know that that book is dracula emma: "this is dracula"? i should look this book up, i've never heard of it!
I feel so honored that you looked at my bookshelf! I feel like I dont have a lot compared to others beautiful shelves, but I do split my time between my kids, work, reading and my love for video games lol. But you described me so well just based off of those shelves! Also, I have Fragments of Sappho coming in the mail currently :) I adore you, you are by far my favorite booktuber and thank you so much! Jordan Edit- I just read your post on here, and wanted to add the mystery to my bunny on my shelf, which I thought was interesting that you pointed out.. maybe because its yellow and stands out. Anyways, my dad gave it to me when I was 11 when he got back from a business trip. He passed away unexpectedly last year and I felt like the bunny needed a special place near other things I loved💛
kafka on the shore really made me feel something after so long. its weird, but so is life. a prophecy, relations, talking cats, . nakata, dear nakata. truly wonderful magic and realism the book thief, also the first book i ever read, made me sympathize with death... nothing but love. i read perfume after picture of dorian gray, which was fasinating also nausea after that. love.
Perfume by Patrick Süskind, The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, and Nausea by Jean-Paul Sartre are all in my top 5 favourites. Kafka On the Shore is very high on my tbr. I love seeing when others have such similar taste 🖤
Hi, Emma! I couldn't resist dropping in to say how much I love your content. I have only recently found your channel, and cannot begin to express how much joy your videos have brought me these last few weeks. Also, I can't wait to see what you think of Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell. It's one of my all-time favourites and I have a feeling it's going to vibe well with your taste. Sending lots of love your way!
“The Thorn Birds” is just devastating. It is a very slow burn novel but super interesting, being that it is based in Australia during the 20th century. I’d definitely recommend it.
ahhh this was so fun, thanks for taking a look at my bookshelf! everything you said is pretty on par with me as a person lol. and i have two copies of red, white and royal blue because one of them is my original copy and the other is one that was signed/personalized. also, the bottom of the first shelf IS history books and some greek/latin textbooks, so you were right! we really do have similar tastes, which is why i take all of your reading suggestions!!!
I'm hopefully going to read The Thorn Birds soon! I never knew Colleen McCullough did classics retellings. I only knew her as an Australian romance author. I'll have to check out her other work.
Hi! I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS VIDEO! I was excited to see my book shelves although I have to say that I must reorganize them soon as there are some books I would like to unhaul as I am not going to read them again such as the Delirium trilogy which I read a long time ago and now I am way past this kind of books as I am not interested in dystopian books anymore . Anyways, thank you for featuring my humble bookshelves. I loved it so much!!
Thanks for looking at my bookshelves 💫❤️ It was super fun! You are spot on with my love of escaping into different worlds. My favorite books on my shelf would have to be Lovely war, my Rick Riordan books, and of course Howls moving castle ❤️ Yes that is Little Women and the Mara dyer books you guessed right 😊 This was really fun makes me what to start making videos too, so I can talk to people about my love for books too 🙈
Hi, Emma! I`m absolutely in love with your content! Thanks a lot for sharing your love for literature, especially the classics, with all of us. Aren`t you planning to create "video lectures" or just short videos about literary theory and criticism, different literary styles, or just analyses of the famous books? I would love love love love any educational content from you!!!! Your explanation of what lit students do in the university just haunted my mind! You`re so eloquent and knowledgeable. it would be a pure blessing to be your "distant student" :)
Are you still doing these, and if so are you interested in getting more photos of more bookshelves? It'll be interesting whether you see a substantial difference in the bookshelf of a man in his mid-30's compared to what I presume your average audience of women in their early 20's read. Though I don't have my non-fiction on display, they're all in storage and I have a few books as eBooks; the majority of my collection is on display now and I think your reaction to how it's organised would be fascinating.
a very large expanse of sea was one of my favorites reads this year so far (even tho i didn't gave it 5 stars - it was 4, but i always think about this book, it made a mark on me) also, my favorite book of my life is the book thief and i cant wait for you to read it. it's a very very sad but also so so beautiful book! i read it when i was 14 and i reread every 2 years (im now almost 23) and i feel that everytime i reread it i see something more beautiful and sad that i didnt saw before! it's one of this books that changes with us! i love this video!!!!!!!! i wish i had more books in english so it would easier for you to see mine haha

I just discovered your channel and I love it. 🖤 Very refreshing genre of books and titles. 😁 This series is super cute and informative as well. Love it again hahahaha
2016 I was working in Jeffersonville Indiana, Louisville Kentucky which I found old book stores loved it, I returned in 2019 which all are gone which amazon moved in to Jeffersonville Indiana. I loved reading at coffee shops watching rain and snow. My plan b. I visited second stores which is best place to find used books. Today with covid everything is closed. 🇲🇽🇯🇵🇺🇸🏄🏾♂️🌊 Downey California
1) are you going to do a part two of this video and 2) would you accept multiple pictures because I have three bookshelves each in different parts of my room :)
Perfume the story of a murderer is amazing! I didn't read the book but I saw the movie and now want to read the book because the movie was so interesting and riveting.
I also never read Bookthief but i watched the film lol. I just finished If we were Villains and i can't wait for the live discussion, so nothing on my tbr right now.
I really loved this video, will you make another part like this? I would love to send you my bookshelf too which is mostly german books (but you can still tell, what most of them are in english) so it's kind of different and I would be interested in what you think about them/if you know some of the books. (Sorry if my English isn't so good)
I watched a recent university grad take the Rory Gilmore quiz the other day. I did much better than she did. The list wasn't complete though, as I'm sure Dean felI in love with Rory while he watched her read _Moby Dick_ . My shelves are a mess, mostly filled with things I couldn't get rid of, either to friends, schools, or libraries. The only one I miss is my Bevington Shakespeare. It must have weighed 30 pounds but I'd read it on the subway late at night anyway. Thx.
👀 I dont even have a bookshelf and I own stephen king lot, terry pratchett lot and jordan sanderson 🤦♂️ I do plan on getting some book shelves I own around 300 hardbacks 😶
Hi Emma !! I really love your channel. You made me want to send you a video of my bookshelves, but the thing is my books are mostly in french, so I would like to talk in the video just a little bit, would that be okay ? Like I would show you my shelves and say "This is titled "blah blah blah" in english" so you would know which book it is ?
Strange the Dreamer breaks the covenant between author and reader at the end. *Spoiler* You can't turn one of the protagonists into a zombie meat puppet to sell the next book. So much NOPE.
take a shot every time I say "that's cool."

Feeling the need for another one of these! This was such a cosy video, I loved it :)
You should definitely read Colleen McCullough! She's very popular here in Australia :)
The thorn birds is also very popular in Vietnam. I can say EVERYBODY know of the book. I'm surprised that book isn't well-known in the US 😂😂
Renegades is by Marissa Meyer btw :)
*if you have two editions of a song of achilles you’re doing okay in life*
I THINK NOT!!!!!!
