- Is it worth starting a pressure washing business? Having run one for the last 7 years I would confidently say YES!
Pressure washing is extremely profitable and although it is hard work, it is also incredibly rewarding and an activity you can do while listening to music and getting a tan. Enjoy this video where I walk you through a standard summer job cleaning a driveway in my neighborhood for Nolan's Pressure Washing. We'll start in the morning before even getting to the job and I'll share all the tips and tricks that I have learned over the years throughout the day.
With a low startup cost and a ridiculous ability to scale, starting a pressure washing business is the perfect summer side hustle for students and a promising career path for contractors. Enjoy the video!

How is your day going?
Where’s the link to the headphones
Better now that I’ve seen this video
yes, I have sensitivity to noise, I want to do this but I can't skip out on THE BEST bluetooth headphones for loud enviroments.
The fact that the vid was informative and cinematic was amazing, great video!
Glad you enjoyed it! That means a lot!
Are you kidding me bro? This is awesome and your videos are so high quality 🙌 keep killing it
Thanks hannah!!
Great video lots of good information especially for people that want to start out and maybe their own little business but I'm pretty sure even I can tell one of his jets are clogged up That's why when he's cleaning it and you can see it vibrating violently also when he tips it to the side and runs it there's only one jet spraying unless I model only has one but that just makes it extremely unsmooth
Loved the video . The hustle look like this 🔥keep it up
Thumbs up for your efforts and you have pride in your work. Keep it up👍
Thank you!

Best of luck! Glad you enjoyed!
I have aluminum ramps that are only 10 lbs each and opens up to 7 feet so the incline isn't so steep. Amazon carries them.
Awesome video.
I just came across your u tube channel and it is the best I've seen very well explain and coordinated also subscribe
Thank you!!
lol i bonked my head washing my house last week on the top of the head left a nice welt doesn't feel to good either. I am about to start a pressure washing business myself been a painter for 30 years have arthritis in my knee I am making the switch because it's less labor intensive painting is much more physical work I know because typically houses need to be washed before painting. Anyway great vid
my thoughts exactly , ive been every level of painter in my life and never realized how much money there is, also less ladder work lol
I love that it… the story and the career switch!
This video is awesome man. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Appreciate it! Happy to help
@thecollegehustle phenomenal video. You inspired my 12 year old son and he wants to set up his own pressure washing business. Can you post a link for the Contractor Hose, the Shut off attachment and type of pressure washer that you used. Thank you for paying it forward. #muchrespect
good stuff man very informative from start to finish I appreciate all the info! Do you need a license or insurance?
I feel like your neighbors intentionally walked through your video 🤣
So you don’t use chemicals or anything? I’m trying to start doing this on the side without having to use chemicals though.
Very informative, thank you
Whats the dim on the pressure wash hose? The one to the gun, is it 1/2 or 3/8?
Love it!
Thank you!
nice video man thanks
Of course!
I have a 2.5gpm i cant really use that surface cleaner so i have to stick with the 15" and 16"inch ones tho a 4gpm washer is my next purchase. In this line of work time is money if you can cut a job by 30min to 1hr thats great. I really need to get those water cut offs attachments i get so annoyed having to walk back and forth to turn it off
Great video I’m in college doing the same thing 💪
Love it! that's awesome
what gpm, psi and size of surface cleaner do you have
I’m starting a business doing this. My goal is 10k and buy my dream car. Wish me luck!
Can you make it video on how to get customers
By the way what are you using to film? I have a canon 80 d that I never bring in the field. I also have a GoPro 8 but my iPhone 11 is a beast.
Is that champion pressure washer worth it? Still thinking of which 4gpm to buy.
Thank you very informative
I noticed you didnt use chemicals to pre soak? Is that not necessary ?
pre and post soaking with SH will make the job turn out better
Do you use any pre treatment on the drive way ? And after your done some after treatment ?
How do you get customers do you go door to door or advertise and on where?
I mostly advertise on the Nextdoor app! You can see the first video I posted on this channel to find out more about that process
how long is your wand hose or how could i extend my 25 ft hose for my own wand?
I have a question.. how do you get rid of puddles? Like if there is a dip in the driveway or just a lot of water? Do you blow dry it or use a broom or just let the sun do it?
I do a mix of letting the sun dry it and using a broom if need be. I usually do the part of the driveway I think will puddle first so I don’t have to fight the water. Then at the end of the job I clear it out
On average how many jobs do you get in a week during summer
"It has this turtle and rabbit feature. Really gives my customers peace of mind". That confused look on their face isn't peace of mind, it's them wondering if you've ever heard of a throttle before. Just busting your chops, keep making that money.
Hahahahhaha that made me laugh 😂 I can take some chop busting when I’ve earned it!
Bro, thanx for the vidz your very informal on your videos. Im a green horn starting out. From Alabama to Detroit . Is it me or starting out where you nervous about a return on your investment?
I was definitely nervous. It seems like a ton of money but if you can source the jobs it’s totally worth it!
Bro i have to put my unit together and after 1st jobs its all paid for
What tips do you use on your surface cleaner?
I believe in on one your videos you live in portland oregon, I live not to far from there.... I was wondering if you pressure wash all year round like in wet or cold weather. Thank you.
Hey there! I do in fact do it year round. Jobs in the rain are not great though so I charge a bit extra and wear lots of layers
It's called cavitating the pump when you start it without water
Awesome thank you!
How do clients pay you?
Hi! You said you would link some of the equipment you use like the headphones. Do you mind doing that?
Yes! Here's the headphones I mentioned:
www.amazon.com/3M-WorkTunes-Protector-Bluetooth-Technology/dp/B0723CYHPZ
anything else you'd like linked?
@@thecollegehustle2402 I'm surprised how cheap those are, I was expecting closer to $100
Gpm matters more then psi
Hi im 17 and wanting to start a little buisness pressure washing. I have 400$ for a 3200 pressure washer at home depot (for a starter pressure washer) do you think its to late to start this year? or should i save it for a good sale on a better pressure washer?
Good question… I would recommend buying the machine lightly used. You will get more psi and quality for your $400 and it shouldn’t effect it’s life span hardly at all. As for whether it’s too late to start, it really depends on how much business you want and where you live. If you live in a rainy area and you only want to work on weekends then it certainly isn’t too late!
Enjoy your back while young, because your going to mess it up taking it in and out your truck. Other than that great video
god bless everyone who sees this i hope a wish of theirs comes true today ☘️ ☘️
if I let go of the trigger while the pressure washer is going will it damage it ?
Good question. The water running through the machine is what cools the engine so it isn’t good to let it run without pulling the trigger for too long. The machine I’m using has a “turtle” setting though which lets the engine run really softly when you aren’t using it. I recommend doing that it turning the machine off if you aren’t going to pull the trigger for 1-2 minutes plus!
Hey, how do you find your clients? Also, would you recommend renting used equipment to start off or purchasing?
Hey Robbie! I actually made another video that answers questions like these. It's the first video this channel posted. Go check it out and let me know if you have any more questions!
I can count 8 things I'd not do.
Random lurking dudes everywhere..
20:00 😳
hahahahahhaha that got a good laugh out of me!
I feel like the using seal is taking business away from yourself in the end. Kinda screwing your self .
This dude doesn't know what he's doing he didn't even use any SH, water doesn't kill all the mold & mildew
Most customers in Oregon are very environmentally conscientious and are uncomfortable with any sort of solution being applied
@@thecollegehustle2402 If you know what you're doing the chemical isn't going to affect anything. The mold and mildew wasn't killed it's just gonna grow back in a couple of months making the driveway dirty again
So he can clean it again, repeat business.
Lol why all of that
