    Good video but I disagree with your part about needing minimum 5.5 GPM machine if you're "just starting out" and don't have a lot of money to begin with. Why tell someone to go spend $5k+ on a machine when they need to prove to themselves that they can get work, and do a decent job with a cheaper 4 GPM machine? Your setting newbies up for financial failure from the get go.

      You can get a 5.5 for about the same price usually $100 more than the 4.0gpm. Also you can do a driveway with a 4gpm if you are going slower and not overlapping and rinsing after a few passes.

    • @jedmonaco8554

      I'm just starting with a 2.5 gpm DeWalt, definitely slower but I enjoy taking my time. I get driveways, walkways and retaining walls done perfectly with it. With a 16 inch surface cleaner I just go very slow. Till I make enough to buy a 4gpm machine. $300 turned into $1500 in 3 days! 2.5 is all you need to start with.

    If I was paying for this type of cleaning, you would be the one I would hire. The right equipment for the job is a must, plus experience, plus attention to detail. I see so many videos of driveway/brick cleaning and the stripes, some spots cleaner than others, the wand used first to cut in, then the surface cleaner second, and you can see everywhere the wand was used when finished, ect. drives me crazy, I am OCD, lol. Great Video, I know its almost a year old but great content. I am 55 and just retired down in Puerto Rico for a year now and I am bored. I am down here about 6 months out of the year and there is a huge need for quality power washing down here and I want to fill that gap. Im not trying to build another big company but just have some income and some mental stimulation in this part of my life. What is the best way to start and be successful in this business? I would want to start with all the proper equipment as I understand how important that is but I also want to skip the pitfalls of a brand new owner in this business that I have never even considered. My goal would be to have a rig like yours which has everything and is top notch. I would do all the work and basically work when I want to which is about 20-40 hrs a week for 6 months out of the year. I have been self employed for 30 years so know how to run businesses. Do you have any kind of training system or what are your thoughts for someone like me. Appreciate any thoughts on bending the learning curve and headaches to make this profitable and fun right out of the gate. Not sure why I like watching these videos - kinda weird but clearly I am not the only one 😁 Again, thanks for any input

    One thing I do is make sure you aren’t running to much pressure on the concrete driveway with a surface cleaner. I always test a area and turn down my pressure as needed. If your seeing alot of sand residue on the driveway your pressure is to high. Don’t etch the concrete just clean it. Like Kyle said pay attention to your tips sizes.
    I have done over hundreds of driveways with my PW business. Over 20 yrs in the business.

I'm familiar with basic pressure cleaning but never heard of being able to adjust the pressure. Can you drop some bombs on me? I'm assuming there is equipment that enables you to do it with more powerful pressure cleaners? I'm trying to jump from basic tools to more commercial type stuff lol

    • @mattspontiacta
      @mattspontiacta Год назад +2

      @@poisondaddy thanks. What I do is just turn down the gas throttle lever to about half from full. Will very depending on size or psi of your machine. For example if you have a 4000 psi rated machine half throttle should be around 2000 psi. Probably a little more than half throttle will be just about right. Then watch your concrete surface and look for sand particles. You will have some but not a lot. Like I said before clean the concrete don’t etch it.
      Adjust the throttle as needed. It takes time to get it down but it’s better to start with light pressure than to much.
