With instant V8-like power and close to Porsche handling, I think the little SLK 32AMG was the most fun (modern) enthusiast car MB ever built. Underrated at "only 350 hp," it kicks the more portly (but more desired) SLK 55AMG butt in handling and acceleration (by a small margin). A great bargain if you can find one.
The throttle map on these cars learns the previous owners driving habbits, there's a reset procedure to make the throttle mapping standard again. Often needs resetting as it learns your habbits. A quirk of Mercedes cars, they're not as unresponsive as you'd think.
FYI Adaptation of the gerbox and throttle is continuous - cane it for a couple minutes and all will be fine again. With BMWs it resets at each ignition cycle. The reset and subsequent learning procedure is for fault finding situations
I recently brought the 320 manual, it’s so much fun, a few more horses would be good, but if its the kept in the redline on a twisty road, super fun, and a grate sound, cats removed, the value for money is unbelievable, paid £2400 full maindealer service history, private sale of course. It would have cost 3 times that for the AMG model, and be stuck with an automatic
I bought a 2002 well kept slk 32 AMG and it’s incredibly fast and smooth. But the maintenance is exhorbatant for sure! The cost of upkeep is 4-5k a year
SLK r170 is my most desirable car. But I don't like this AMG styling, it doesn't look good on this car, too fancy and ruins the great and simple proportions of this small car :( So I think to choose the 320 instead of AMG, sadly. I wish to find a Final Edition series, it has nicest rims. Also, I have no idea why they put an old steering wheel in this model?! It's really ugly. And the model is started in 2001, same as the restyling, which has a much nicer new wheel.
I just bought one today in Canada, proud to be part of the AMG family.
Nice work! Cracking little car that is still good value for money. Enjoy
Hey Hal, I am thinking about buying one of these, when a good one comes up. How has the car been in the last 8 months?
Out of curiosity how much did it cost you?
Me too. I live in Van. I am about to pick it up. What should I look out for?
I owned exactly this model, here in South Africa..but in dark blue.Great car.

@@kennethbutler1343 V8 “LIKE” power. Like! Read carefully. It feels like a V8.
I drove an old Jag v-12 XJS and I expect the SLK 32 would kill it. The Jag had modern straight 4 power!

There were only 28 of these slk32’s ever delivered by Mercedes in Australia. They are so fast and refined and rare

What sort of repairs you have to put through? I am planning for buying a Crossfire...the info you provide would be really helpful
that doesnt make sense...what cost 5k a year?
@@smm7540 a dodgy mechanic.

I bought also one, such a crazy nice car! Fuck the new cars this is bossmode..
Awesome car I own one
It is a great drive and loved both the quality feel but that little bit of rawness at the same time.
Hi, what's the l/100km or MPG?
