What is an authentic blondie?

A authentic blondie isn't cakey its gooey like a brownie, commonly people make blondies and they are a little cakey therefore people don't like them. I found mine were a mix a little cakey but also gooey, people loved them but I didn't like that they weren't a proper blondie. Hope that makes sense.
