@@PeterChowchow sorry for a late reply but any way yes julian brown may not invent the microwave plastic pyrolysis machine BUT what he invented is another and different version of the microwave plastic pyrolysis machine and what he created makes gasoline instead of of coal that the original pyrolysis machine does.

WOOD GAS. ok.. not actually wood gas... but the process.. as in would it be more efficient if "plastic to fuel was approached in a different way"... such as how it was done with engine's that were run off of wood gas (not a "liquid" gas.. but a vapor gas), as was done in the past.... aka. using ..... "waste" burnable something* to produce heat..... that heat used for pyrolysis of plastic into a VAPOR GAS and then that vapor gas to run (assist run) a generator? AKA don't take the steps to to convert gas into a liquid fuel (diesel and other fractions) as everyone tends to do. Or maybe a middle ground and don't crack the vapor gas as far.... as is typically done via condensing it into different petrol fractions (which is several "conversion" steps.) Just leave it as a crude like oil" Every "conversion step" presents losses. So like Wood Gas fueled engines of long ago.... you avoid some of those losses by taking the vapor gas straight to engine to run generator.. or to cook...(likely not) or tooo burn for steam engine purposes orrr?? AKA- Less conversions..... less losses. Could use technology of "scrubbing" polluted gas to get a more refined vapor gas so when it is actually used for combustion ... the engine/burner that combusted it, is not releasing as much pollutants into the air. Not released in air because the pollutants were pre captured, by scrubbing the vapor gas before sent to engine/burner for combustion. Pollutants collected can then gotten rid of in more efficient ways or combined with other things to make a profitable product. Some of the pollutants likely could also be removed BEFORE pyrolysis of the plastic, or before a pyrolysis produced crude-ish oil product is used. Do contaminate removal from this crude like oil, via a centrifuge and other technologies. A locomotion example........ Diesel engine running a truck or locomotive. It's engine produces high exhaust manifold temperatures. (waste byproduct) Use that hot exhaust - to create a heated chamber. Drip crude- ish (bunker like oil ) that was previously made from plastic, rubber etc. (also could be blended with other waste oils) . The vapors gases created in this exhaust heated chamber, then fed into air intake of engine so it can be utilized for combustion. Combusting the vapor gas reduces the need for the petrol or Diesel, the engine is using to carry out its intended job.... like heavy transport locomotion For electricity generation- use heat generated by combusting waste products* to turn plastic, rubber etc. into a vapor gas... scrub the vapor to remove pollutants...... feed the scrubbed vapor right into a generator's engines intake so it can be fed into engines combustion chamber. Combusting this vapor gas from the plastic in the engine, ends up reducing (or replaces) the refined fuel (like diesel) that is one of the source that would be used to fuel the Generator. *burning/incineration of waste paper, wood , dung, and other waste byproducts that needs to be gotten rid of anyway.
Hey. I wanna buy a mark 5. In a couple years. Combine that with a thunderstorm generator attached to an engine for electrical generation. Could clean the world with this combo. Fuel from plastic. Engine with a better combustion and almost no pollution from exhaust.
PLEASE, use it for safety gear, extinguishing systems and upgrading the reactor itself. love the steel carport plan, but please, some emergency decon and extinguishing systems
A $100k Grant is great! However their are four very important points I hope you consider. 1) $100k is not going to go that far. 2) if you are able to earn a $100k grant this soon you can most likely get more. 3) Do not treat this $100k like you just won the Superbowl or as if this is the climax of your project. Rather, treat it like this is the very beginning and let it feed your appetite to get more $$. 4) You can use a portion of your $100k grant to invest in getting more grants.
Yo. Would like to suggest to add some heat sinks before the condenser. Its free cooling and would make the chiller spend less power. Also booby traps are illegal for some reason.
I know a lot of people talk about using the products produced from the pyrolysis into fuel. But what about repurposing into plastic. There are many products that will take a long time to replace them with non-plastic components. So at least turn the plastics consumption and production cycle into a closed loop. Just a thought.
Man bro i grew up in the hood and shii i wish there was a smart mf like that was around and not school smart any ody can copy and paste this dude is cool

I'm confused at the efficiency of such a device, in essence, from my limited understanding of chemistry, it sounds like petrochemical recycling on a small scale.
You can pyrolyse any plastic is a short answer. Problem is that some contain metals or halides and the product will be very dangerous. Pla pet and abs (petg is pet + glicol added) are plastics that contain carbon hydrogen and oxygen as such they will produce simpler more stable products that contain same elements. That would seem non problematic but you have to remember that things like benzene that is quite stable and has similar b.p. to other products is seriously cancerous. So if you aren't a chemist you shouldn't try this process on a larger scale.
