"Even a tough day in the Snowys, is just magical" . . . you're dead right there, young man. As we're well aware, watch out for the 'tigers' that lurk in that neck of the woods . . . and I'm not talking of the trout variety. 😀 You made me come and look, nicely done and I look forward to when next we meet - it was a pleasure. Cheers, Bill
Excellent Steve! I know that spot very well and it's tough to be successful there, even for one fish most times, especially with high water. That makes your detective work even more interesting and educational. Euro nymphing is indeed a style worth knowing and a major technique to add to the arsenal. Love the quality of gear you use and I like you, feel the Aussie high country is the best place on earth, it beckons you back time & time again.
Thanks Keith! Yes the high country is special, love it! That spot gets a lot of pressure for sure, but it’s a good deep pool that usually holds fish, it’s just a matter of whether they are catchable! ;)
Loved the video mate! Tough fishing in beautiful surrounds but you fooled a few and fended off the hungry dingoes so I reckon you have done well! That 12pounder or was it six would have been great to admire but it has already materialised in my minds eye so im content. Cant wait for your next video.
Really enjoyed this. Have only just started fly fishing myself and loved the way you present & narrate the video. Felt like I was watching a TV show. Well done 👌 Looking forward to fly fishing that region one day.
Tham is a good mate. We should get together for a fish some time. Maybe come along to a Sydney Flyrodders club meeting some time if you’re in Sydney and say Gday. :)
Question: If you were so close to the Bridge behind ya, why didn't you just walk to the other side? I really love this video and how you caught that beauty on the long cast. More please!
Thanks Ariel! Yes I suppose I could have - but the fish were sitting on the slower seam on my side of the main flow, I liked having the nymph drift from the fast stuff into the slower seam. If I fished from the other side it would be shorter range so the fly would be drifting from the slow water into the fast stuff and getting swept away. I’m sure I could have made it work either way. Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it! :)
Well done, great country. But your at least 40 years to late from the glory days of Trout fishing 🎣 that section of the River sadly. How times change, and mostly due to man's incompetence of the Earth
Thanks Troy! Yes it is great country up there. I sure would love to fish it 40 years ago, though I must say this season with all the rain has been pretty darn good for the trout. Thanks for watching! :)
@@PeachyFlyFishing Well I've been fishing that area for the last 35 years, and the season just passed is nearly the best in all that time. Bring on 22/23! Looks like another cracker in the making.
Hi mate, I don't generally give away exact locations, but this is on the well known Eucumbene River above Lake Eucumbene in the Snowy Mountains. If you have a look on a few maps there are many access locations all along the river, no shortage of spots to fish there. :)
Love that stream - fished it many times - so many years ago!
Yes it’s one of those classic spots in Aussie fly fishing, an iconic stream… :)

Thank you mate, it was a pleasure to meet you too. And yes I’ve had a few encounters with the local tigers there! Haha! :)
Looked like a beautiful day peachy:
Spectacular scenery. Looks like you’re loving the euro….
I’ll have to have a crack some time.
Thanks Jonny, yeah I really do love it, such a fun way to fish! I'll bring along a spare rod when we catch up if you want to give it a try... :)
Great commentary on the vid and how you explain your process . We walked that exact spot about 2 months back . Such a lovely spot !
Thanks Campbell, yes it's a lovely spot, and it's pretty cool that even though it's so well known and gets fished hard, it still produces fish! :)
Haha! Awesome 12 pounder! Absolutely beautiful country mate. Cheers!
Hahaha, thanks mate, yes he was HUUUGE! 🤣

Thanks mate! Yeah it’s always a good day up there. We had better fishing, but it was all good. :)

Thanks Troopy! Hey are you friends with Tham from Bass Sydney?
@@PeachyFlyFishing yep, that’s right mate 😄

@@PeachyFlyFishing yes I would definitely be keen for a fish sometime and also keen to come along to a meeting. Thanks 👌

That 16lber was awesome!

Haha, thanks mate! It was 20lb actually, could’ve been a world record….😂

Hopefully everyone is parked there during spawn 😜🤣
Haha, I think that’s generally the case isn’t it? 😂
