Just ordered and paid for mine today!!!!! in orange
How much above the MSRP was it? There is a dealer out where I live that only charges 10% over, but he sells everything out quick for that reason.
Love my FZ(MT)-09!
Best MCN video so far more like this!
As usual brilliantly done, crisply edited... in fact the editing is probably even better than the bike!
So finally this one is up! Now I would really eagerly wait for the new ONE!
But hey Mr Neeves, I really like your presentations and you really do an excellent job.
Good vid. Been waiting for a review on this bike. Cheers.
Best Vid by MCN yet! pretty cool bike also.
Yamaha knows what their doing that's for sure.
Great review, I could actually understand the rider's perspective and feel.
AWESOME video, quality is dripping off it
cheers from Croatia! ;-)
great review thank you for comparing it to the triumph since im torn between the two but leaning heavy on the triumph
Once again amazing on point review!
Great choice in music MCN. Great review.
I used to have a naked bike and they are great for hooning around on, doing wheelies, stoppies, slides etc. The upright body position makes them great fun out and about town and they can even be a lot of fun around a circuit with the pace dialed back a notch or two. And all of this takes place "in the real world". :)
I just got a Street Triple recently, but I'd still love to try one these.
Thank you!
Welcome to my Croatia boys! Hope you had a plesent time.
Great vid guys
I'm *so* test riding one of these as soon as I can. :)
These are such awesome bikes 👌🏻 we just did a review on the 2014 version!
One ride and I was hooked.
Cool, be safe!
congrats!
woohooo Croatia, yeah my country on MCN feels good
i heard you were riding around Split too bad i live about 600km form Split
i hope you had a nice time in Croatia, next ime ride the coastal road from Senj to Starigrad best in europe imo
Fantastic review.
Does anyone know that is there a tutorial videon on how to do the 180 turn at 3:58?
yeah thanx mate
Awesome review.
I wish i could buy this bike someday
+Akbar Andi You can! Its really cheap!
Curious about how this compares to what I currently ride. I ride an FZ1 and love it, but I'm wondering how much difference that 70lbs makes and how it's riding position and weight distribution compares?
Had my MT-09 for months now, HUBBA machine ... Fuck Triumph........
Good intro video. I hope you guys decide to do a full comparison test between this and the Triumph Street Triple R. That is the test I would like to see.
Incredible, Yamaha! Bring just to Brazil! Quick!
Watched this years ago after I bought my 2014 FZ09. After hearing the comment “ You have to jam it into the corners on the brakes and load the front end to get a feel for the front tire” (something like that) I realized that I was already doing that, and that’s basically what you call trail braking.
The bike is more than ok the throttle is also ok I also watch this Years ago and did buy the 2014 model AND there is nothing wrong with the bike AND had bikes more than i can remember
Awesome looking helmet. Thanks!
thanx
Nice review.
CROATIA!!!!!!!!! MCN how did you like my country???
powerful, lightweight, upright naked bike with awesome looking engine...less hoses n clutter.this really looks like my next bike.A huge seller in the making.
Well done.. stay safe on the roads! ;-)
How would this MT-09 compare to , aprilia shiver 750 and MV Agustaa 675 brutale? (for everyday use of 2hrs, suspension for the streets, gas, and of course for fun)?
Thanks
Great video!
Thank you!
Yes it is light compared to Z800 GSR750 and FZ8!
Is this an MCN video!?
Money and effort spent on production, surely not!?
Very nice.
reli reli good bike , hope i can get it soon!
Nice video! The clothing at 2:33, is it certified for road usage with protection and all? It's really a nice outfit! What brand(s) are the manufacturer and does anyone know where I could get a hold of them?
are yamaha goin to use this as an official video? real good review on one great bike! cant wait!
I think this will probably be my next bike. A big upgrade from my 2012 er-6n
This bike looks brilliant. The price tag is great aswell.
kralju moj ovo je u nas
Where can i get those windshield and Akra exhaust..?
good review
NICE!!!
Yam have hit this nail on the head. If I only had the money....OMG, I would love this... ..But cannot afford it!! I know, pretty sad right? BUT, I want one!!!
Fantastic Motorcycle, sure it has foibles but I'll live with them.
I love it. Cheers for the review guys!!!
Awesome review but still not sure if i should get the street triple or this one
i agree with you friend well said david jay
Nice!
Pleasant and informative review. I would suggest that the "snatchy throttle" is simply another example of progress gone awry, namely, the fuel injection which passes emission tests, gives superior mileage and looks neat to buyers - but which inevitably has that "light-switch" on-and-off feel to it, particularly at low rpms and small throttle openings.
Unforgivable on slick, uneven surfaces, where smooth power delivery is a must. So you end up riding the clutch at low speeds, which is annoying.
As for the three-cylinder configuration, one of the finest sports-tourers I ever owned was the XS750, a poised, tight shaft-drive triple that Yamaha sold for almost a dozen years in the competitive North American market. It felt light and pointy, and was comfortable for long rides.
For some reason riders (particularly in Japan) have something against three-cylinder bikes. On the contrary, I adore them. This one looks great, and affordable as well (unlike the Brutale 658 I tested - nice, but ouch: STICKER SHOCK).
Sweet. Looks fun to ride. What a great commuter bike. Nice and light for traffic. I think it's great ! Throw some slicks on it and get it out in the canyons on the weekends !!
Hey MCN will their be any aftermarket fixes for the snatchy throttle in the future? like some kind of power commander or an aftermarket exhaust or something?
go for it
Just bought one. great bike. MCN you need to chill out. Not every one can afford big expensive super bikes like you guys. And I have ridden GSXr's and blades too. First naked bike and its awesome!!!! Rant over!!
Nice bike with potential to sell well. I would be up for a fazer09 version when they do it.
Also, got a great write-up in the latest issue of Bike aswell.
YOU ARE RIGHT
i know what i'm getting next spring!
Name of song in the intro?
I test rode one. the snatchy transitions between power on and power off were unavoidable in "normal" mode. fine in "rain" and "full power" mode. loved it. just don't ride it with "normal" mode
TOP!!
Greetings from Croatia. Which part of my country you've been filming? (City?)
Ike (wk sp125) is 140kg and when I dropped it I had no trouble getting it back up again.
Nice
is the mt-09 in EU the same as the fz-09 in the US?? I'm rather unclear on this and havent found much info on it. thanks
What's with the ironing board seat??
Well done for at least mentioning the snatchy throttle problem - but you should be kicking up more of a fuss about it. I took two weeks holiday recently with the intention of test riding as many motorcycles as possible and then buying one. I was amazed to find that almost all brand new bikes suffer from this problem to some degree. They would have been thought faulty if judged by the standards of the 1970s when I started riding. In all cases it spoiled my riding pleasure. Sometimes it was downright dangerous. I would have thought there was a strong case to be made that some of these machines are 'not fit for purpose'. Or am I being unreasonable to think I should be able to tootle around a roundabout in second gear without pulling the clutch in? For me, smooth control of the motorcycle at low speeds is a big part of the pleasure I get from riding. So - motorcycle industry please note - although I had money put aside to buy a brand new bike, I ended up buying one which was fifteen years old.
+Howard Davies my 2002 fxr 150, has about 25HP and even though it has fuck all power gear 1 is SO twitchy/grabby around roundabouts its actually sort of dodgy so I cannot imagine what these litre bikes are like
+Howard Davies welcome to F.I.
+Howard Davies
Can you tell me if the BMW S1000R was in your test?
I can bearly imagine a 15 year old bike coming close to ABS, Traction control, Dynamic Damping, preload Motor Management, built-in steering dampers, leaning angle sensors, heated grips and cruise control.
Triumph, KTM and BWM doesnt seem to suffer much of this.
so do I keep my Monster 1100 or trade in on this?
Nice review, that thing coming to the USA or just to the European markets?
ok now can officially start living! congrats
what were the black helmets used by the riders who were stunting?
Overall the looks are pretty good but I'm also a fan of big round single headlights for naked motorcycles. I wonder how it really compares to the Street Triple?
how's this bike compaired against the 2012 kawasaki er-6n? They're in the same pricing area and I'm thinking of purchasing one of these two.
Nice roads there in Croatia.
yeah I'd like to know the same
almost bought it today.
What make is the black helmets the other riders have in this?
Look really cool :)
nice motorcycle
Hey guys. Great video and nice review.
I went to my Yamaha-dealer to get some infos on this bike but he could not tell me anything more than whats on Yamahas Website. However.. Do you guys think that big guys will fit on this bike? Or is it more designed for smaller riders? I am around 6ft1 and a bit "bulky" and I am desperatedly looking for a matching bike that does not weight >250 kilos..
nice bike
good one mate, do an advanced riders course and ride safe ride happy
I wanna know if it heats up easily in traffic...
i like it
what was the helmet at 2:39?
best feeling in the world
What helmet is that black rider using?? Looks awesome
What is that black helmet? I love it.
fun bike
Guys, should I stick with my MT 07 and get a new exhaust system plus some other aftermarkert equipment next season, or go for MT 09? I really like the three cylinder engine and the extra kick that comes with it. Just wondering is it truly worth the upgrade since MT 07 is pretty fast as well at least accelerating vise.
+Ta3kno Get the MT-09!
is it coming to america??
I am from the USA (cool, I know). But anyway, we like to ride comfortable bikes in the US with incredible heritage and that also look amazing. Saying that, this Yamaha looks amazing. Incredible power from such a small package. Am looking forward to test driving one. BTW, I was in Croatia last year, and if you're from the US, you'll get loads of girls. They love US guys and Croatian girls are super easy. I had about 20 in the two months I was there. They are dirty to. One even did A2M. Peace.
I believe so yes, called the fz-09
I've just test ridden one and it was brilliant except for the fueling and exhaust, he's right it is very snatchy, you have to slip the clutch on slow corners, a power commander and dyno on day on of purchase + a fruity exhaust are a must I think.
AMAZING bike for the price you pay. A shop here where I live has them brand new for $6,790. Triumph dealer here is selling the street triple for $9,999.
