      Amen to that bro. God I remember getting this for christmas one year and was enthralled by it. I was so little I really didnt understand what I was supposed to do, but once I got the hang of it, this game became one of my all time favorites, it was just so unique and different from the other games we had at the time. Such a classic, god to be able to be a kid just one more time lol

      Yep...1hr...think about that...$50 for a 1hr game...games back then weren't long enough so we complained about them not being long enough. Now we complain about paying $70 for a game that's like 115hrs long and still people aren't satisfied. People complain about graphics too. We really need to appreciate what we have and get instead of tearing every game apart...

    • @solamon77
      @solamon77 9 дней назад

      @@DASamX5453 Yeah. It's like a certain segment of the gaming population thinks every game needs to have infinite content. That, once you pay your money, the dev is supposed to work for you in perpetuity. I even saw people complaining over on the Dead Cells forum. After 7 years, 35 free content updates, and 2 huge $5 expansions, the game was finally coming to an end so the dev could move on to something new. Unreal. It's got to be the kids who grew up with that Games-as-a-Service bullshit complaining.

      For me, there was a lot of things attempted here which fell short of the mark. A few things stood out negatively:
      - The wall jump mechanic really was only necessary once (and I think only used in the early areas anyway) but was a pain to get to work correctly. By extension, quite a few of the controls felt a little stiff while still being fairly fluid.
      - A few things of the story wound up lost along the way, but I do chalk it up to the limitations of the NES and era.
      - All the bosses wound up being kind of lackluster.
      - The special attacks seemed utterly pointless until *one* point in the game.
      However, the music was pretty good for the time (the Red Dragon theme stands out to me even after all this time) and I remember enjoying playing through the game ... until reaching Matic, who I had no clue about how to fight properly until I figured it out much later. On accident. This is terrible design, having things not be spelled out within the game, but incredibly common in NES titles.

    • @ShaneRimmerWorld
      @ShaneRimmerWorld 3 года назад +6

      @@kereminde Oh man, I got wailed on so many damn times by Matic until one of my friends told me to use my plasma blast thing. Even though the arcade/Genesis/Mega Drive version is the superior version in my humble opinion, I do like how the NES version put a story together compared to the arcade/Genesis/MD version's generic "go stop the bad guy from taking over the world because he is bad" storyline. I only wish that Capcom worked all the bugs out of this game and translated it better.

    I agree with you, this game is capcom answer to metroid and castlevania, this version is way better than the arcade because the arcade is too focus to action, too bad capcom never realise the potential of strider hiryu and the blue dragon

    I remember renting this as a kid, for some reason I didn't like it. I played the arcade and was not impressed with this version.

    Character has the most awkward running animation I've ever seen. Looks like he's hopping on one foot and has to take a piss.
