@@slightlyevolvedtard This exactly. Doug may have bought some big, expensive, stylish cars, but they've all (with the exception of the Ferrari, obviously) been on the more subtle end of things. An Aston to a non-car person just looks like another silver luxury car. A Viper is not a super uncommon sight, and at the end of the day is still just a Dodge; mostly people might just go 'oh, cool' to it and move on. The Ford GT's probably the least subtle, but even that doesn't exactly jump out at people unless they're paying attention.
As opposed to a high-end Lamborghini, which is just about the opposite of subtle. Not that I consider that a problem personally, but that's not what Doug is after.

GT is not ludicrous as some cars, but people talking about your car everywhere you go does get annoying and he said he doesn't like the part. The GT is still a practical fun driving experience and he uses it, so that's probably a decent trade off the the attention it gets.
I remain shocked by how many (non-car) people dismiss the GT as "just a Ford." It's unbelievable how frequently people will see the car and just move on immediately; it's just a Ford, it doesn't say Lamborghini on it, it can't be that special.
With that said, car people do notice it everywhere I go, it does get a lot of attention, and I don't drive it much.

That headlight bean adjuster is on all cars here in the UK. Its so you can adjust the beam based on if the car is fully loaded or not as this changes the angle of the car and thus the lights

20:56 That's a mandatory headlight levelling toggle all cars in Europe with incandescent bulbs must have. It's to level the light beam if you're carrying a load. Xenon and LED headlight must be self levelling with mandatory headlight washers.
Headlight washers are only mandatory on xenon headlights because of the heat they generate.
LED headlights don’t require mandatory washers.
And it is an ancient invention you would have tought demuro would know that. Even my '83 civic has it.

Some quirky info: I wonder if the headlight washers and headlight beam height adjustments aren't so much features of this Mercedes, as they're features of your car being built for the Swiss and European market. I believe headlight washers have been mandated by EU since forever (at least in Nordic countries), 'cause it's one of the most obvious identifying markers to differentiate Nordic, EU and US imported cars here in Norway, and I had headlight beam height adjustment on my 2001 Ford Mondeo, at least, so I imagine it's the same story here.

You can't adjust the lights higher. The switch only adjusts them down. It's used for when the car is heavily loaded in the rear, or if a heavy trailer is weighing down the two hook, thus raising the front of the car. To avoid blinding oncoming traffic you can adjust the lights down manually.

The ford GT is functionally fast. And because it's fast, it's elegant. All of it's beautiful lines and it's drivetrain are not for show, they all have a purpose- to make it fast. A ford GT is absolutely not a "showy" car

EXACTLY ! In fact, it's a really great design !
Mercedes that aren't primarily designed for the US market all only blow cold out of the center vents. This is because of the German preference for frischluft. I forget which model it is, but one of the MB owner's manuals said this is for "warm body, cool head" as if that is a phrase we've all heard, and simply instructed you to close the middle vents if you don't like that.
And you are correct, that sticker only appears in the 463 chassis cars. That's not always what the part number matching the chassis means (it just means that's when they first used it).

That 2nd switch is for levelling out your headlights while pulling a trailer or carrying heavy loads...not for illuminating boulders....
I'm pretty sure the seat-lever is intended to be activated by rear seat passengers with their foot. That's why there is a red, rubber cap to make it more visible to the rear-seat occupant. But then, I'm not a professional car-feature pointer-outer.
(At 17' 40"): Doug, to lift the front seat to get out of your G while sitting in the back seat, you can press the lever with your left foot (if you are sitting in the left rear passenger seat) or with your right foot (if you are sitting in the left rear passenger seat). The lever has a red plastic cover and it is easy to identify for this purpose!
When I first saw the lever, I thought, "Why is the other end bright red?" I figured it out before he had the seat fully retracted. Sometimes I don't know what his problem is. He could also Google stuff, e.g. what were the other door switches in the Bentley Turbo R?

Actually the headlight adjustmenst is mandatory in germany and other european countries. For when you load your car and the headlights shine up you can adjust them to normal level again so you dont dazzle oncoming traffic.
Doug, to move the front seats forward so that you can climb out of the car from the rear seats (see 17'26") simply press the red cap at the rear end of the actuacting lever with your left foot if you are seating in the rear left seat or with your right foot if you are seating in the rear right seat... it's ver simple, that's why Mercedes put a red cap at the end of the lever, to catch your attention!
