I redid an old metal trunk after being inspired by yours. I too keep painting supplies in it. I store it in our basement so I am the only one that sees it. I wanted to put legs on it so I wouldn’t have to bend down but wanted it to be sturdy. Instead of furniture legs I opted for 2 x 4 legs and then painted everything black. Because there is now an open space under the trunk, I store drop cloths in a tote box underneath. I would never have thought of this on my own. Thank you so much.

I worked at Fabricland back in the early 80's in Calgary. I still have a huge stash of fabric from when I worked there. Now they're all vintage.

I collect a particular pattern of Depression glassware, and one time my Mom found a Depression glass ice bucket in a free box at a yard sale. It was absolutely filthy, which was easily remedied. It was then that she saw the word “Frigidaire” on the bottom. It had apparently come with refrigerators at one point. It is one of my favorite things!🙂

My husbands chest of drawers is sooo bad. He has papers piled up at least 9” ( it’s how he does the bills, collects receipts etc. ) plus he leaves his folded clean laundry on the floor in front of it on the floor. We’ve been married 44 years he’s retired now . He doesn’t want me to fix it - he’ll get to it 🤣🤣🤣. Married life ehh. I’ve bought cute baskets etc for him - they are under there somewhere. 😳
I had to giggle when you said you’ve been married 44 years. We’ve been married 43 and I totally understand what you’re saying. I have learned that you just have to pick your battles and look at the good. It does get on my nerves but I try not to let it.

It is better to have an idea of what you need to store before a purchase but I love vintage containers and you have given me ideas of how to use them.
This is true, it seems like it changes each year, though, for exactly how I want it organized.
We have a window in our upstairs hall closet too. That closet is a nightmare. You know how old farmhouses never have enough storage or closet space, so I want to redo that closet so badly it's basically raw unfinished wood on the inside too so a lot to do. I am organizing like crazy this summer thanks to your awesome videos Sarah! My home is more beautiful than it's ever been. Thank you! oxJulia

I love that you use vintage items for storage. And that you embrace the mismatched and eclectic and NOT white or clear plastic. I love using glass jars and metal buckets as well as wood crates. The vintage sewing drawers are fabulous (I remember the video when you got yours). I also love the wooden “in” boxes. I haven’t seen one of your videos for awhile, but I truly enjoyed this one. I’m back!

I love this video and needed it so bad. I am in the middle of refinishing the top of an antique kitchen table and have so many prep items I had to gather before starting this project. Gel stripper, stain, brushes, rags, sander, sand paper, stirs, and so much more. It was like an scavenger hunt! Lol. I will be organizing all these items when finished and properly storing them together. I have the space and just haven't done it. Thanks for the inspiration!❤

I found some glass kitchen containers at a garage sale and they a re too big for my Hoosier. You have given me the idea to use them in my craft room to keep supplies visual but away from dust. Love this video!!!!

So many great ideas!! ✨❤✨I love how the labels make all the different types of vessels unified and seem intentional rather than random. I tend to skip past the section of the thrift store where they have those containers. ( not anymore 😂). I would make one change to the cutting pieces container…. I think you should store your exacto knife with the blade down. Ouch 😂 thanks for the inspiration. You are so right… “clutter is a magnet”

okay!!! this has given me new ideas for my crafting supplies!!! because I didn't think I had room for such a space, then as Im watching,,, I'm thinking if the closet that goes to my spare room( which has been my grandchildren room since they were born. It has a spacious closet, not as big as your room but I think it could work . My grandchildren are not babies anymore and are totally into crafts, so this could work! lol, thank you for the amazing ideas😀

I love organization and living in a 300 square foot apartment I have to stay on top of things. I am a freelance photographer and I work for a book cover company so I have many props that I use the photograph. I got three short rectangular boxes from a print shop that paper ships in and have them number one two and three so I know what props are inside each box. And I use 12 x 12 scrapbooking paper for backdrops and was able to get a box for it and old-time photographs and different things at Hobby Lobby for storage

When you started to talk about the sizes of things you keep, my mind screamed Nooooooo! I junk journal and keep the smallest bits and pieces to collage etc. I'm a multipotenialite and have never been able to do one or two types of crafts. I love to create and have a studio, but recently my husband let me take over a large third family room we rarely use. Unfortunately it doesn't stay organized much as I paint and move things around. I even keep pieces of lace that are one inch to layer into a journal. If you don't know what a junk journal is check out Ruby and Pearl xo, she makes amazing journals, that have a very vintage, old world vibe. I use some of mine for scripture, quotes, journaling, bible studies etc. I have one of those trunks and need to organize it like you showed. I keep all my home refurbishing stuff all over. I was thinking about getting rid of it because it's black. I guess I just need to paint it and rub and buff the metal.

How can I use the metal bread baskets? I have several and can't figure out how to use them outside of bread.... 🤣 Brain block.
