Let's discuss how to know when you are OVER collecting small decorative pieces and ways to not accidentally create a stash of clutter, especially for us that regularly thrift pieces.🙈
Love your thoughts, ideas, suggestions, and the process(es) you suggest. I am 67 years old and have loved decorating since I was a teenager. I learned the love for home and everything within it from my mom. She decorated her home with Colonial-style Ethan Allen furniture, handmade cross-stitch pictures, old furniture (ice box, dry sink, etc.), and more. She taught me the names of fabrics, styles, furniture pieces, and it all rolled off her tongue with passion and yet simplicity. Her “lessons” came from her heartfelt 😮passion and were expressed in the everyday, not as facts but as love. Back then, obviously, there was little in the way of education: a couple magazines was the extent from which a homemaker could glean. Yet, she knew it all. I’m so ever grateful and miss her terribly.
The reason, I think, that most of us don’t hit the bell us bc we don’t want yet another ding from our phones, which demands so much of our attention as it is, when we regularly check you tube anyway. When you’ve uploaded something new, it shows up right here as soon as I get on RUclips, which is when I can settle in and relax and watch my favorite channels. If I got a notification from all my faves throughout my bust day, I wouldn’t be able to watch them anyway until I’m on “my time”.
One of my favorite places in the world is the ocean, so when we take our entire family to be beach, I collect things that remind me of the beach. Sand castles, sea shells and coral are my favorites and I use them here and there throughout my home, so I understand the draw to coral. I love all of your choices. One thought I had for the number candles was to get them for a 1776 in some patriotic vignettes at Independence Day. Thank you for sharing your trip.
Absolutely do a Christmas workshop! I used to decorate for people, and I actually started in October. Also, if you don't get out early, you miss out on the best stuff! So it's really good to get ideas. You will do a wonderful job! Wish were closer...
Great purchases. As soon as I saw the bags, I was wanting one. So pretty. I am glad I collected floral frogs at garage sales years ago. I have both the glass and the wire needles. Now that I am bringing in summer bouquets, it is inspiring me to de orate for summer. My mom has a big shell collection, and has been letting the great grandchildren pick a shell, they really love them.
19:38 I see others are enthusiastic about a Christmas holiday decor tutorial, but I’d love to see a Thanksgiving decor tutorial. October in a barn would lend itself beautifully to that as well. MHO.
I love all that you do. I love intentional decor. I believe a workshop in October for seasonal decorating would be fantastic. Then bring the workshop to us. Thank you for all you do. Can’t wait to see your living room.
Hello! Thank you for another enjoyable and educational video! I haven't read the other comments, so maybe someone else already mentioned this, but I was able to add the bell, even though I was already subscribed to your channel. Blessings to you and yours!
The barn market looked so beautiful! And all the things you laid out reminds me of a calming day at a spa. I absolutely don’t think it’s too early for a workshop at the end of October for Christmas decor and I love the market bag!
Hi Sarah. First of all love the black and white dress your wearing…. The barn shop was charming. The bag is so special! Yes to Christmas in October. Nice to get ideas before things get busy. Would like to see your arrangement with the frog or anything gardening.
Yes, please do the Christmas workshop! Also noticed that the Maplehouse has appeared to discontinued their on-line ordering business as of 2022. Might check with them❤
Go for the Christmas workshop. The end of October is definitely not too early. In fact it borders on late if anything. Some people, like me, start months in advance so all the decor is well planned out with a purpose instead of looking like we just pulled out whatever we had and threw it up. Lots of good info in this video. Thanks.
Beautiful experience at the Barn. I think it is never too early to prepare for Christmas decorating. Christmas comes faster each year. Blessings to you dear.
I own a barn. I had a yard sale there for the first time this weekend and it was really fun. Your video gives me the idea of hosting a market possibly!
Those are all items i definitely would have purchased!! My fave are the candle numbers and the deckled stationary. I have a whole collection of frogs.. always look to add... My problem is we have a very small house and not a lot of display places... Or wall space unfortunately... Still, i cant pass them up.. especially when thrifting. I dont think October is too early to think about Christmas decor... This was such an enjoyable watch!
You heard it from Renee in Ohio! I use my flower frogs for my makeup brushes and on my home office desk for holding pens and pencils!!! You will LOVE ❤️ IT! Thanks for your wonderful knowledge! I have watched you for a long time ! God bless you!
I was recently in Guam and there was a typhoon that washed up plentyyyyyy of coral. I wanted to get some but it’s illegal to bring stuff like that home even a shell on the sand. 😢
I am so excited that she will be a sponsor for our retreat! Her barn store is darling. I have quite a little collection of flower frogs...go figure 😂 A workshop in October would be perfect time for Christmas decor! ❤
I follow her Instagram account. It's always inspiring. I used to live in Marysville and spent a lot of time in Snohomish. I also carry the market baskets and the best one is the huge laundry one. It's huge but people love them.

I've realized recently that I UNDER collect for fear of OVER collecting. Because no one sets out WANTING to be a hoarder. 😂

"Saudade" is a Portuguese word. It means "Longing".
I love the water mister❤❤❤ it's so beautiful!
Yes please! On the Christmas deco
Loved your purchases. I use a glass flower frog not just for flowers, but I have one stood on my desk. It holds pens and pencils perfectly.
We've picked up a few "Frogs" through our years of antiquing. They look cool as a pen and pencil holder too!
Awesome tips, and yes holiday season workshops are needed early....
The scent combination for that candle sound heavenly!
What pretty music ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Really enjoyed the breakdown of tchotchkes vs decorative accents. Looking forward to your styling video!
Your videos are so relaxing. Thanks for inspiring me to make a more collected home. :) God bless
Thank you for the kind words, Julie!
For your October Christmas Workshop idea....I would appreciate learning technique of a Christmas wreath out of dried flowers.
Great idea!

Would have loved to see the items you bought put together as a vignette, and some shelf styling.

When collecting coral don’t pass by dingy looking pieces. I collect white coral too. I Just soak them in bleach water. They perk right up.
October is not too early for Christmas ideas!
I think October is a great time to do a Christmas workshop. I think some Christmas markets have sales in October.

One big commercial 🙄
You are too young to have such "older" kids.
