Dear Andrea, I agree with you and others about Goodwill prices. Everything is donated to them free of charge. I'm 77yrs old, back in the day ( 1960's) Goodwill was about the name of the store... goodwill. They were about helping those less fortunate. It appears they have become "contenders" with other retail stores...Walmart etc... I believe the best way to get Goodwill's attention is to refrain from purchasing their goods. The Salvation Army and St Vincent's De Paul truly give back to our communities and their prices are more in line with second hand items. Alrighty, I'm off my soapbox. I truly enjoyed this fall vlog. Your home is beautiful. I’m finding in our area (NC) that most of our thrift stores are very expensive. I think that’s why so many stores are busting at the seams with so many items. People aren’t buying. I pretty much pay a few more dollars and buy new now. I used to enjoy thrifting but I rarely go anymore. 😢

I agree that Goodwill has become unreasonable. Ours often charges more than the item cost new in the store.

Very beautiful. I buy plaid scarves in seasonal colors at thrift stores all the time. They make great table runners for the holidays.

The basket that you passed on is a ThirtyOne item. I have one and I love it because you can put a roll of paper towels on the handle( it slides out) and put hand soap and a trash bag and other items for a picnic. It is a pretty versatile basket. Just FYI… Thank you for sharing your life with us 😊

Thank you for the lovely idea of using scarves as decor because I have a stack of all patterns and colors that I knew I was holding on to for one reason or another and I was able to pull one of those out to hang on the hall tree in our entryway from the garage.❤

Just found you! Love your home. I follow lots of thrifting channels….and EVERYONE is complaining about Goodwills prices!! I got some of those exact velvet pumpkins last year at Dollar Tree. They were $1.25. 🤷🏼♀️

There’s 2 different Goodwills. One is for profit, the other is not. Depending on where you live, depends on which one is by you…but the non profit one makes it their mission to hire from the disabled community, so your purchase is going to their mission!!! I’m one of those folks ❤

Love all your fall touches! Yes the Traverse City area can be costly. I just paid 2.99 for a big wicker pumpkin at my goodwill. So those pumpkins seemed pricey to me too. Even their Goodwill prices are high in that area.

I used to shop Goodwill but the prices are too high especially for donated items! Home Goods prices are even lower and the shopping experience is great. I like to frequent small thrift shops and find very nice items.

Goodwill has had to increase their prices as they pay their CEO's six figures. A lot of their help (at least in our town) are community service individuals or volunteers and the profits are supposedly going to help the disadvantaged or disabled. Yet they pay their CEO's an astronomical amount. I stopped thrifting there and only thrift at local places that support our homeless shelter or churches that have food pantries and feed local people. I won't donate to Goodwill either. I love all the various items you have used to style your home for fall. Your videos are always so calming and refreshing. You really scored on that Chinese washboard!!! They are very rare and hard to find!! Thank you for sharing. God Bless!!

They still fall apart on me too! I dry them upside down, but once I’m ready to arrange them, leaves get everywhere!!

I think those prices at Goodwill were fair prices. I would have grabbed them. Sometimes they are ridiculous tho.

The prices at the thrift stores are over priced unfortunately due to people reselling on eBay or at the flea markets.
