    Is this the end of Square's dream? Drawer dreams of a circle.
    I have a lot of drawers. Since I started DIY, about half of my work has been devoted to making drawers. It was inevitable because there were more tools and parts to manage.
    However, the drawers were always square.
    I wanted to make a circular drawer.
    The inner diameter 100mm PVC pipe seemed very suitable to me.
    I wanted to show you how PVC pipe can be transformed.
    Various details have been added to transform simple piping into a drawer. The front was covered with transparent acrylic so that we could see the inside, and I made a hole in the handle.
    The back side is made semi-transparent by sanding transparent acrylic, which serves as a subtle light for LED lights.
    When I put acrylic on the front and back, I cut the PVC pipe 7mm thin, cut a part of the circle 20mm, and put it on the inside. This helps to fix the acrylics more tightly.
    The bottom of the drawer is cut with a table saw so that it does not rotate when it is mounted.
    The drawer itself was made into a square shape with a 12T wood panel, and a circular perforated partition was attached to the back of the drawer to prevent light from leaking to the rest of the circle when the LED light was illuminated from the back.
    Since the LED strip is wound around the circular wood generated when punching in a circular shape and used as a lighting, the lighting inside is circular.
    The basic frame of the drawer is made of 12T wood panel and grooved with a router. It takes a very precise design to make a total of 10 pieces of wood customized by digging a groove with a router. So I worked very carefully.
    I've tried a new design on the parts drawer.

    Thank you.

    Wow, you really did think out of the box with this. Amazing work. The addition of edge banding or a face frame to hide the plywood would change this into a piece of furniture...

    • @Kynosys_
      @Kynosys_  Год назад +1

      Edge banding and face framing are really good ideas. Had that been done, the value of the work would have been much higher. Actually, I am not a professional carpenter. I am enjoying trying new things. It's not easy for me to learn carpentry. It seems like it will take a long time. But I am also progressing. It would be a great honor for me if carpentry experts create more beautiful works by referring to my ideas. Thank you very much for your good comments.

    The manual CNC is fantastic. Excellent idea. It has the potential for many uses and is very innovative. GREAT tool and execution of an idea! Every step of this project was well designed and thought out using alternate building materials. Lighting is a nice concept. 👍

      I wanted to make a different shape than the common square-shaped drawers. After thinking about it, I tried using a PVC pipe, and it seemed to come out prettier than I thought. Manual CNC is really well used for various purposes. I feel the lighting every time I install it, but it is cumbersome. Still, the finished look is beautiful. Thank you for your valuable words.
      흔한 사각형 모양의 서랍과는 다른 형태를 만들어보고 싶었습니다.
      고민끝에 PVC 관을 사용해 봤는데, 생각보다 모양이 더 예쁘게 나온듯 합니다. 수동 cnc는 정말 여러가지 용도로 잘 사용하고 있습니다. 조명은 설치할때 마다 느끼지만, 번거로운 일이긴 합니다.
      그래도 완성된 모습은 참 아름답습니다.
      귀한 말씀에 감사드립니다.

    My initial thought was it looks fantastic but round drawers that are not aligned would upset my OCD. Then of course you addressed that very problem like the perfectionist you are 👍 The addition of the lighting takes this from the workshop to classy house furniture.

      In the process of creating a piece, your concern is the exact point. I'm glad you got it resolved by watching the video. Because I used a transparent window, I also installed LED lights, which seems to have made the work SHINE more. I hope you enjoyed my work, thank you.

    Amazing 선생님. You definitely broke the stereotype with this design! Beautifully designed and executed. I really love how you constantly think "Outside the Box." I prefer the router for better "fit-ups" also. I seem to get better control and outcome with this method. This is simply the BEST RUclips channel ever. I am never disappointed. Wishing you well and with many blessings always.

    Looks cool though I might be tempted to glue two strips of wood on the bottom half of each pipe to prevent them from rolling around and dumping their contents on the floor.

    • @Kynosys_
      @Kynosys_  Год назад

      Your words are the exact point. It seems that each parts container rolls sideways and is worried that the contents will spill out. As you said, I was thinking of putting a guide on the bottom to keep the container from tipping sideways. However, just cutting off part of the bottom of the container with a table saw gave the container enough stability, so I didn't bother. thank you!

    Just discovered your channel recently. Love it so far! You show a lot of clever techniques, which make the videos very valuable. It looks like you are using Baltic Birch or is it a local plywood more accessible to you?

    • @Kynosys_
      @Kynosys_  Год назад

      I almost always use birch plywood. Because it has a high density and a beautiful surface. I mainly use plywood because it is easy to process, but I recently prepared an automatic planer, so I plan to use hardwood in the future. thank you!

    While this looks attractive I would say that it's not as functional as traditional square or rectangular cross section drawers and looks like a lot more work than traditional drawers. So for me it's a bad idea.

      You're giving the practical side of the answer.
      I filmed a video about the development of items and the challenge of new things.
      When humans landed on the moon in 1969, There were objections from a cost standpoint. But the sum total of mankind's desire to explore the moon made it possible. Aside from the technological advances that accompany it.
      I would appreciate it if you could think of it in terms of diversity. thank you!
