    NGC Alone has already graded over 10k of these coins at a grade of 70.....Coming straight from the mint.....they are all gonna be 69's and 70's......and the comment about them being cheap on eBay is true......I saw one selling for 83.99 for a graded 70 and they are probably gonna go even lower. 69's and 70's is gonna be the standard grade for these coins.

    • @JoshuaAndersonLife
      @JoshuaAndersonLife  10 месяцев назад +1

      Yep I agree, I just want one Morgan proof graded at a 70 for my collection. They minted far too many of these to make them have any good value much beyond bullion prices. Just like you mentioned, I'm watching eBay for a cheap PR70 Morgan.

  • @sopcopotoptop
    @sopcopotoptop 11 месяцев назад +2

    They both are beautiful in proof but, with the frosting of the raised portions of the obverse and reverse, you do loose some of the fine detail of engraving, like the breast feathers of the eagle on the reverse of the Morgan’s. I understand that’s not a flaw but part of the process. That’s why I do like the uncirculated coins for their own reasons as well.

    • @JoshuaAndersonLife
      @JoshuaAndersonLife  11 месяцев назад +2

      I agree 100%! In general they really are beautiful as Morgan Dollars are in general, but it's like it was just overdone in a way that it's now just leaning more towards a silver round than a resemblance of the old currency.

  • @zzyzxRDFwy15
    @zzyzxRDFwy15 11 месяцев назад +5

    It's easier and less stressful to buy them them already in the holder and grade you want. You send them in yourself for grading and you'll likely get lopsided allotment of 69 graded coins with the rest of the small time players. Running the gauntlet of both the US Mint and grading company as a non favored status commercial player and it seems your chances of being sent coins from the B stock stack increase quite a bit.

    • @JoshuaAndersonLife
      @JoshuaAndersonLife  11 месяцев назад +1

      I agree with you on these because I don't think they'll carry a huge premium like three 2021s. Maybe just higher than the grading fees for these 2023s for a PR70?

    • @zzyzxRDFwy15
      @zzyzxRDFwy15 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@JoshuaAndersonLife One 70 graded of each Morgan and Peace Dollars(4 total) costs me $570 from Pinehurst on presale, average cost $142.. I think is it worth it to me because I'd rather not want to play the coin grading game, which I feel is rigged against the small time collectors. The amount of time it takes and the risk you have to accept just isn't worth it doing it yourself with these low margin modern coins. I recall the 2021s started off at a good price to buy them already graded but as time past, the prices started to rise.

    • @JoshuaAndersonLife

      "In the 1920s it was a common affectation for artists to use the Latin alphabet for items that were designed in the Classical style. Latin doesn't have the letter U; V was both a vowel and consonant like our use of the letter Y. You had to figure out the sound from the context in which the letter was used.
      Both dollars and quarters from that era used the Latin spelling so they both read TRVST. In addition many buildings and other artwork from that era were all lettered with the Roman alphabet."

    Why are you not buying them already graded MS70 then you would not be going thru this bad case scenario. These coins you ordered look rough at best are also not keepers. If you want MS 70 in Morgan and Peace Reverse Proof be prepared to pay around $199.00 per coin.

      Ultimately I enjoy ordering them from the mint and seeing what I get. Not a big deal if I have to send some back in hopes to get one that I think will grade a 70. I have less interest in these proofs as well as they are very high mintage. I will say that seeing as how I ordered quite a few of the 2021s at first I was disappointed in the quality, but then it made it exciting to find a few that passed for MS70. Especially since they minted much fewer of those than these current Morgans. It looks like they're going to continue to mint these every year moving forward at this point. Any of the basics past the 2021s are going to be worth their weight in metal more or less. These proofs are not going to hold much premium unless they're probably in a MS70 slab from PCGS or NGC. I don't believe I've seen how many they plan to mint of the reverse proofs but that's the last thing I'm holding out for and then will likely be done buying these Morgan's altogether.
