Peace Dollar Proofs video & review of blemishes... 👇

Looks good enough for government work.
They could have been worse...
Lol
Same. I ordered a bunch and returned them all. They were either out of their holder, milk spots and debris inside the capsule. The reverse proof have to be better.
Yes I'm excited for and hopeful for the reverse proofs! I believe I have 2 sets on subscription. How about you?
Getting my morgans today and I hope they look as nice as yours, those look flawless!
The one I opened in the video was the best one. All the others had more significant flaws on them. Good luck with yours! Let me know how they look when you get them.
If every coin is a 70 then why bother grading.
I agree, it adds the 'excitement'. This is just informative and for the conversation of it all. 👍
Just returned from a work trip so just opened my peace dollar and morgan dollar, so relieved to see that they are flawless. My morgan didn't even say it was shipped, but arrived the same day as the Peace Dollar
Nice, good to hear some are having better luck! Did you subscribe for the reverse proofs?
@@JoshuaAndersonLife Unfortunately not and the mint site says unavailable. Traveling too much to pay a ton of attention these days haha, i'll probably come across some eventually
After this disappointing experience, will you be buying the reverse proof set from the Mint in November?
Yes, I'm hopeful for those and most excited about them! Plus I believe they'll be the lowest mintage...? Did you subscribe for them?
@@JoshuaAndersonLife . Yes I have but I'm still not sure if I'll end up getting them or not.
@@packerbacker69 I subscribed for two sets of them, and based off my experience you should absolutely receive them if you were able to subscribe. I'm slightly wondering if they will cancel my subscription since I just sent back all of my Morgan and Peace proof dollars though.
Yours look amazing to what my coins looked like!! Mine had scratches on the coins not the plastic
Mine also had scratches and dings on the coins as well. I took each one of them out of the capsules to double check them. ☹️
I ordered 2 Peace & 2 Morgans. 1 of my Peace Dollars had a gash on the cheek so I sent it back today. The other one was great, no problems at all. A keeper! - My 2 Morgans have not been delivered yet, but my tracking info says I’ll get the both tomorrow. (Hopefully.) Thanks for sharing.
Good luck with the Morgans! Let me know how they look! 👍
I also sent back my peace yesterday! It was full of scratches!! Not worth 80 bucks at all!!
@@lancewebb5990 yeah it's disappointing...
@@JoshuaAndersonLife - I finally got my 2 Morgan Silver Dollars delivered. Both of them were minty fresh with no problems. I’m so relieved. But I was scared opening them up. I was waiting for at least one of them to be defective. So many people have gotten coins from this program that are messed up garbage. For $80 apiece it should never be this way. The quality control for these coins needs to be much better. The disappointment that people are feeling is very real.
@@Goat99 That's good to hear! I ended up ordering three more and they all look pretty good thankfully. I still have to take a closer look but I intend to keep them all by the looks of it.
Does it cost you money to return to the mint? I am considering sending back my reverse proof. Morgan and peace
They'll give you a full refund if you send them back within 7 days of you receiving them I believe. There should even be a return shipping label in the box you got, which is part of the invoice.
One of my 2023 Morgan Proof one got a double printed certificate. Do you think if it’s worth anything?
Interesting! There are definitely a number of people out there that like any type of error is coming from the mint. Chances are you would be able to sell it for somewhat of a premium. However, I'm really not sure how much that would be given that I haven't seen anybody else report this or sell one as of yet. I'd maybe try listing it on eBay at a high price (extra $50 - $100 maybe) and see if anybody bids on it. On a side note, do you happen to see my newest video by chance? I think because of the original title I put on it it's being suppressed? (Replica Morgan video)
@@JoshuaAndersonLife Thanks for your input. I actually search Morgan 2023 certificate error on google and youtube and your video showed up on the results. I thought about listing up on Ebay too but I’m going to the Long Beach show early next month so I’ll try to ask around there.
@NAMERICA Good to know, thanks for the feedback! Good luck with that certificate, it's something that would be pretty cool to have in the collection!
I got 2 of these. Mine looked good as well. However they do the frosting though seemed off around the chin though. They also do not appear to have as deep of an impression as my old Morgan's
Yeah I have some mixed feelings about them, but like them overall. I'm a bit more excited for the reverse proofs. Did you happen to subscribe for those?
@@JoshuaAndersonLife I'm not sure what the heck I subscribed for tbh lol 🤣 it just says I'm subscribed for Morgan's and they sent me 2 even though I only subbed for 1. First time buying straight from the mint. Don't know if they're going to send me one of every version released? Or... They aren't very descriptive
@@Troglodytemtg They sent me 3 more Peace dollars than I ordered 😆. I ended up returning all of them. You can check you "subscriptions" in your account. I don't think they're allowing any more (at least currently) for the reverse proofs.
Glad I passed on these ..
Yeah, good decision! I think they'll go down in price unless they're graded in perfect condition.
I guess I won the pony! I sent my Morgan and peace proof silver dollars, off for grading. I decide to go with NGC.10 point grading scale. They both came back perfect tens. Hell yeah!
Nice, and their new grading scale. Congrats!
@@JoshuaAndersonLife thank you much. I've been collecting. Certified Morgan and peace silver dollars. For 50 years. And I am excited. For the 10-point grading system. That NGC has.
I'll bet you have an amazing collection! Morgan's are my favorite, and currently vintage promotional stuff.
@@JoshuaAndersonLife thank you much. It will be my legacy, for my children. And my grandchildren. But something I really look forward to. are the reverse proof Morgan, and peace silver dollars. They will be the feather in my cap. I have a subscription. for 3 sets. I now will send them off, for grading.
@rickledford2953 I'm also really looking forward to the reverse proofs and have a subscription for two sets!
I ordered five proofs via subscription - brilliant finish. Looking forward to reverse proofs. Coins are easy to keep and store. 2023 will be gone in a flash, and these will become collector items some day.
Nice! I'm really excited for the reverse proofs, and I think they'll have a much lower mintage as well..?
I bought both graded proof Morgan and peace
Nice, do you mind sharing what you paid? I've been checking eBay....
@@JoshuaAndersonLife for both I paid 290
@@JoshuaAndersonLife they are pretty, I use to own older proof Morgan’s but was stupid and sold them
@@brettjames7996 Thank you for the info!
@@brettjames7996 yeah I've definitely sold a few and regretted it later...
Save time and money and buy the graded coins. You're too particular.
In the case of these I do plan to wait and just buy one that's already been graded PR70. I have 10 vouchers that come with my PCGS subscription and I'm about to send in an order, I might slip one of them in there if I have an extra slot.
Mine were flawless.
That's great! I ended up ordering three more somewhat by accident, but they all look pretty good as well. Did you happen to order/subscribe for any of the reverse proofs?
@@JoshuaAndersonLife Yes, two of the reverse proof.s. That will be the last of my budget for this year. 😎
@@curiousrelic those will be my last of the year as well. 👍
I think you mean "PF70" or "PR70".
Technically yes, but MS is still interchangeable, at least that's the way PCGS has it on their website. But you are correct it is specifically PR or PF. 👍
Why are you assuming any 2023 Morgan and Peace Dollar certified and graded as a Proof-70 will be a perfect coin ? In some instances that isn’t the case. 😉 😲😳😬 🤣😂🤣
Sometimes they misgrade and they're not perfect, but they usually get it right. If I send any in hopefully my inspection will be accurate... I'll probably do a video of I send any in for grading, we'll see?
I found this video to have a very depressing tone to it. I must be a poor judge, but I though my Morgans looked superb. But then again, I'm not a dealer and I wouldn't be sending them in to be graded and slabbed. I do understand that a dealer needs to make money and if they don't get a PR-70 grade, the amount of profit could be tiny.
Truth is, I was disappointed that I did not get one that was in perfect condition. I really just want one that would grade PR70 for my collection. However, I'm most excited for the reverse proofs. Did you happen to subscribe for any?
It is best to buy these type coins already graded if you expect a perfect coin. I feel dealers get more 70,s than individuals.
I did pretty well with the 2021 Morgan's, but in this case I have to agree completely! I have high hopes for the reverse proofs, if I get some nice ones I'll be sending some in to PCGS with my vouchers. We'll see?
Clearly, crappy quality control
It made it interesting for the 2021s, not so much for these...
"Indiana Jones and the Rim Of Residue!"
😆 Sadly so...
I made up my mind to not even order any of these coins. I have all the 2021 morgan and peace dollars, plus a couple extra. Those were pretty nice coins. I had two of the rev. proof Morgan and Peace dollars on subscription until the Mint announced they would be minting this next year and I completely dropped out of getting any. I really think they are a beautiful coin but with the minting of them next year, and finding out they are going ahead with these in 2024, I'm glad I didn't grab any.
I completely agree! I wish they weren't planning on minting these year after year.
