When I received my P&Ms I saw several with quality issues (nicks, dings, blemish, and spots). Very disappointed, but they did come from the Philadelphia Mint. Sent them back for a refund.
I am shocked at how LOW the US Mints quality control has gotten to let that slip out the door. Both my Peace and Morgan's were fine. But as for the Proof I had to send back the Peace.
I am almost sure what you have on the Morgan dollar is some of the felt residue from inside of the box on the inside of the capsule. I had a Peace dollar capsule with a bunch in it.
That seems unlikely, but definitely possible. I took mine under the scope, and it was definitely a planchet flaw with inclusions in the metal. I posted some pictures on the community page.
@@numismaticsanonymous4952 I agree that it is highly unlikely to get the felt inside the capsule, I could not imagine how it even happened on one of Peace dollars. Aside from that, I will definitely look at the photos you mentioned. I think it’s cool you caught that. Thanks for sharing!👏🦅💪
I purchased two of each coin and received the Morgan’s today. One looks nearly perfect but the other has three noticeable gouges on the face below the eye and to the right of the nose, in a line. Pretty annoying. Not sure whether to return it or keep it.
@@zanderstone2898 Agree with you - we kept it. It's a double error coin after closer look. The planchet has an inclusion flaw, and the date has a die chip.
@@numismaticsanonymous4952 I saw Mister Paulybuck video his had some type of what he thought might be some type of oil I'm hoping that this is not a common issue with the new Morgan's Speg didn't look like his had anything wrong with it
I passed on the uncirculated. The more I see them, honestly, meh. For $80 I’d rather have two real Peace Dollars. I hope that Morgan turns out to be an error for you.
there are [ black ] coa in some box's hand signed ..........only 200 signed and number............and there's more. the mint director personally struck these 200 coins............this is nuts and so cool..........
So far I have seen my fair share of Morgans and Peace dollars that would not grade MS70. Maybe that is the point, everyone is trying to sell these for a quick (few dollar turn around) and they may turn out like the 2021 Denver mint with a small population that may end up getting MS70 designation. Mine should arrive tomorrow hoping for one or 2 nice ones out of the batch I ordered.
I got my Morgan today and Peace is supposed come on Monday. Please look at your Morgan, do you see a cartwheel effect. My Morgan has no flaws but a very flat finish of not a mat finish. No cartwheel.
I don't think the finish is called a business strike. The Mint calls it uncirculated and is sometimes referred by others as a burnished finish, like the American Silver Eagle uncirculated collector bullion coins (W Mint) .
New subscriber! Very nice review of the 2023 Morgan/Peace. Still waiting for mine to arrive. Seeing a number of videos featuring problem coins if you will.
The morgan looks cool. I had bought, 2 -2021 peace dollars through the mint. I also bought a 2021 philly morgan through an auction. She is my scarface Morgan. Has a slice through her upper cheek. 😊
I purchased and have received 3, 2023 Peace dollars and am quite pleased overall with quality and beauty however one coin has a very inconspicuous anomaly in the form of an unexplainable circular pen point indention in the letter d of the word dollar on the reverse. Only very careful inspection under minimal magnification is this slight imperfection visiable certainly not significant enough for complaint or return to the mint. Just interesting!😊
I am getting sent these too but I thought they would be one troy ounce. That is surprising but really I only bought them to flip for more bullion. I guess I missed the part about them being less than an ounce. Sell your morgan as an error and ask a million bucks.
Learn before you buy. The originals were 26.73 grams of 90% silver, 10% copper for a net silver weight of .77344 troy ounce. These commemoratives are the same size at .999 silver. They are not, and were never advertised as, one ounce 'bullion pieces'.
@@-oiiio-3993 For some reason I was just under the impression I was getting a troy ounce each. A fractional non standard weight is very rare for .999 Throughout all the years I been stacking I only have a few that are that way. I am kind of put off by that but these will be for sale and not bullion stacking silver so its all good.
Chose not to purchase despite 225 k mintage . It is calculate scarcity . Definitely will not buy in the next round with projected 400k plus mintage. I will stick with the originals.

Mine came in separate boxes and one had the caution tape as well, I wonder why?
Being on the look out, mine was a double die.😊
The peace or Morgan? Obverse or reverse? Where did you see the most pronounced doubling?
You should check it under magnification. That's why I saw mine was double die.
I did. Check my community page for some photos. It's a porous planchet, and there's a die chip on the date.
Yours is second video showing spots on the Morgan
I took a picture under the scope. It's porous! I posted the picture on the community page.
Why didn't you put it under the scope while making the video?
Great question! I don't currently have the setup to do that. It's a goal of ours, but we're just not there yet.
That Peace Dollar looks GREAT! 👍
It looks flawless, even under the scope!
What about the morgan is it poop?

Mine too, gives me hope of an error coin at least.
I would like to know what you did with the Morgan, I had a bad peace and the ment has not made it right yet very frustrating!!
I kept it!
Still waiting on USPS to deliver my orders.
Same here still waiting on my Peacedollar's and I paid for Next day Air 😅
I'm getting one Monday and the other Tuesday.
Beautiful design, just don’t care for that matte finish.
I would definitely return the impaired 2023 Morgan Dollar with the unsightly goop in front of Miss Liberty’s nose for a replacement.
I posted a picture from my scope on our community page. It's a planchet error! The metal is porous.
@@numismaticsanonymous4952 they need better QC standards.
There is no supply for replacement. You'd just get a refund at this point, I believe

Grease strike through?

They should easily double in value or more by this fall
My shipment came today - all five looked flawless.
Congrats!
got my peace dollar today and my morgan Monday. I was shocked how quick it came since it was ordered 7/13.
Agree!
@Paulybuck got one with spots on it.
Crazy. What color?
@@numismaticsanonymous4952
One spot was dark-grey and looked like a drip, and there was also another lighter spot, like a milkspot.

Check it man. Mine has dark spots across the reverse that shine when the light hits them. Requested an immediate exchange
