Co-worker made a delivery and before heading to his next stop he had to load a trucker bomb.... Some guy rear ended him mid loading. Lot's of liquid damaged packages that day.
Not at work, but right after I got off work. I am an UberEat driver and it happened right after my last order of the day. I dropped the order off and was on my way to pick up my dinner. I was waiting at the traffic light, and it was a 4-way street. The light turned green so I started moving. Out of nowhere, the SUV appeared and drove past my front bumper. I couldn't react quick enough to avoid collision, so I t-boned the SUV. I waited in the car and called 911. When the police came, I started getting out of my car to check the damage. Turned out, it was an old lady nurse and it appeared she tried to beat the yellow traffic light on her way. I made sure to ask everything okay on her end and we exchanged all the information in front of the police officer. And yes, it was also my first auto accident.
Good thing you’re alright man. During the summer peak I double park and I went to drop a package to house and next door some old guy was pulling out and he just gas his SUV and hit my van . I laugh for but because he was blaming me but I told him I was not near the van I was literally taking the picture to the package he was getting mad and raising his voice I calm him down told him hey chill we won’t solve anything like that I told him I’ll give you my dispatch number and info let’s take it from there. Why? She should NOT be driving. Imagine the Amazon truck wasn't there and you were parked in front of it. Now you are getting something out of the trunk and she hits you. Your legs are gone and you will bleed out.
Why? Out of all her friends, she is the winner, she's still alive. LOL. My dad passed at 83 just over a month ago. A few months before that, we were talking about how he never sees anyone he knows out and about, because they're all dead. We agreed he was the winner.
right I was sitting here from Europe, scoffing thinking that no 96 year old should be driving! Then I thought about it she probably doesn't have much choice because public transport is so bad in the U.S.
I drove for Amazon for about a year I had one guy rear end my truck and then another coworker also got hit. People are to damn impatient and I agree those main streets are a nightmare if there is nowhere to park. I found myself parking on side streets and toting the packages to the businesses after all that.
damn that's crazy chris, glad to know you didn't get major injuries and doing okay, great reflection of what you just said, literally anything can happen in a fraction of seconds. When I started in amazon I was sent to the amboys area in jersey, and gotta say that their main steet area sucks as well... while on the road I was worried I could get into an accident due to how narrow the street was lol
I’m a delivery driver too and I fucking hate main road deliveries. They’re so dangerous and just stupid smh glad you’re okay definitely could’ve been worse
Glad you are okay Chris, and what you said about the suddenness of accidents is so true. I'm not sure when the beginning of the video occurred relative to the part where you spoke with the older lady, but the fact you had the fortitude to consider her feelings after how viscerally shaken you seemed is admirable. I know you said it's just a few bruises, but I hope you get well soon.
I try to see both sides of the coin. for me, minor inconvenience workday and damage to company truck (company insurance will take care of). for her, her personal vehicle damage, towing cost, dealing with insurance. I'm feeling better thanks for asking!

I don't get it. If someone rear ends that Amazon truck, the damage will mostly be on the other vehicles not the truck. The bigger vehicles get less damage.
Lol its funny that you can see exactly how it went down. She went around the guy trying to make a turn and side swiped him. Then she did that great thing that people do in stressful situations where she system shutdown and hit the gas until she careened into the back of your truck.
Yeah that is some experience to just get hit while parked. Glad you are ok man, and everyone made it out safe. 96 yrs, she should definitely stay off the road, thats 2 accidents back to back. Stay Safe Chris, Happy Holidays !
Glad everyone was ok 👍, that was really nice and shows that you’re a good guy the way you helped the lady and calmed her nerves. I do hope she decides to retire her license, it looked like she had to be going at a good speed to do that much damage to her car. Just be thankful you weren’t at your back door and only got a couple bruises. Good luck
Once you get into an accident like this at age 96, I wouldn't imagine it's easy to get insurance and DMV lined up again. (Very costly. Premiums will go through the roof.) I hope she has alternative options for travel. (Most old people in their 90s don't have iPad/Uber/etc skills.)
It’s crazy how little your stepvan was scratched up compared to how f***ed up that lady’s car was. Glad everyone is okay though, that’s the most important thing. ❤
i love that you started out with talking about how driving on narrow streets w big vehicles sucks especially when there’s a lot of traffic as if that had anything to do with the crash. had a tiny two door car been parked there, she probably still would have hit it. plus, she still caused a wreck even if you hadn’t been involved
We need to get old people 80+ off the road. It’s not safe for anyone. Where does a 96 year old lady need to go so badly? There’s transportation services for medical services. Imagine if you are waking and an old person loses control and runs you over. Glad you’re safe.
I was also in an accident once when I was driving to work and mind you I was in my work truck also and was driving to work on the interstate. Thank God I am still alive and everyone else around me and I’m grateful that my truck only tipped over on its side and it did not rollover, it could have and that would have been the end of me but I hope that young driver learnt their lesson of not trying to cut off drivers on the interstate and to look at their mirrors when changing lanes cause it seems like they didn’t or I probably was in their blind spot who knows 🤷🏽♂️. I understand you brother but I am also glad everyone was okay here in this video as well. Stay safe out there as always.
This is one of my fears just being in the back organizing packages and just getting rear-ended, getting launched forward, and ending up hitting my head on any of the metal shelves on the step van, glad everyone was okay
Damn Chris glad you’re alright, you were totally not as fault with that parking space, wheels all the way against the curb. Old people shouldn’t be on the road.
When I was in Australia in May (2023), I learned that once you reach 75 years of age, you have to renew your license every three years. It's not that old people shouldn't be behind the wheel, once you get to 70 or 75 years old, you should have to take a road test say every year so someone from the DMV can judge your ability to make a quick adjustment while in traffic and your vision. This woman was 96 so I wouldn't be surprised if she gave up the keys for good after this accident because she hit a parked vehicle and her car was badly damaged.
Glad you're mostly OK my man! I HATE main streets, too! The danger just isn't worth it, not for me or for the other people on the street who have to avoid me as a hazard. Sucks all around.
@darrelldunn1354 yeah. My sister got a new car with the money from the whole ordeal that my brother agreed to pay for but there was PLENTY of time for the guy to react.
I was a volunteer FF-EMT for almost 5 years and now I’m in law enforcement. I can tell you the accident wasn’t your fault. That woman is too old to be driving
This is a bit of a lesson when driving you are exposed to accidents so you’ve gotta know what your doing in certain driving scenarios especially on narrow roads like this one and keep all signs and laws in mind a bit of a tip for new drivers ❤ I’m just glad the lady was alright
Glad you and old lady are fine... 2 weeks ago I was overpassing 2 cars at 75 mph... The car in front didn't even see I was coming at 75 to overpass and made left right in front of me... I saved car and there was no crash (otherwise there would be a big chain of accidents)... We spinned about 4 times and ended up on the side of the road...No crash at all, car is in really good condition and not even a scratch... The only thing was the engine automatically shut down when we were spinning, I don't know why but I'm really glad that my sedan was very stable and didn't flip over, zero scratch is a real miracle!! Oh and my girlfriend just injured her neck and we went to the emergency room.

Good advice can happen anywhere anyone. I deliver here in Arizona and some times I have to pull over on the side of the road and put my flashers on. When I’m in the back looking for that package I need, I always think some one is going to hit me
I also had an incident with an elderly grandmother on an Amazon truck! She was reversing, hit the truck and drove away without even noticing it, although there was a lot of space there!!!
I’ve always thought that medal step bar at the bottom of the step van would save the van and probably even your self from an accident and I wasn’t wrong…… glad your good 👏🏽

I guess they think amber lights mean they should try to beat the stop sign.
Glad your Ok one of my teammates got Rear ended so hard his van was knocked off the road and over a Guardrail. Wish people would be more aware of what is going on on the road and being more careful. Stay Safe Chris
Working in a career that involves driving all day, I've been struck multiple times. In every incident the other driver said they weren't paying attention.
Kinda crazy when comparing the damages. The step van looks like an easy fix. Just replace the step. Which I think is just a few bolts unless its welded on. The car however is 100% totaled
I felt so bad for her but thank good she didn’t hurt anyone I work in a retirement community & almost all the resident cars have dents or scraps. But it’s sad these people are just trying to live their lives but as they get old they don’t have much left & driving is sometimes one of the last freedoms they have we all remember how excited & the sense of freedom we had when we got a license so you can imagine how it feels when you loose it just because you are to old to drive.
I feel that lady, my grandma was that around that age and soon got in a accident with a parked car. She thought it was moving. After that she lost her license and reused to got to the doctor. Later she died not because of the accident but it was her time 😢.
Maybe there should be a mandatory course showing old people how to use an iPad to call for an Uber or Lyft. (If your license is taken away like this.) They are from a different generation and are left clueless, sadly.
Wildest thing I ever saw - I was a few cars behind my Amazon delivery guy (in his personal car back before they had enough vans) and he went to make the left turn into my neighborhood. Fatally struck an oncoming motorcyclist. I wound up staying on the scene until the police investigation wrapped up because it wasn’t like I could go home - there’s only one way into the neighborhood. After all was said and done, the last thing to happen was a tow truck collecting the Amazon guy’s car. But not before he transferred all the packages to his wife’s car to finish the route. Like, if anything justifies a delayed delivery or at least a transfer to another driver, it’s that.
7:42 I’ve never heard that accidents happen in a flash, but yeah that’s the best way to describe what happened to mine it was my fault and I remember being stopped(even though I got ticketed for a fail to yield) and listening to the radio and seeing a car speed by and then blinking and then the next thing I know I’m shaking. I don’t remember the impact or even seeing the car that I hit and I got $7,000 worth of damage for me only going about 3 mph. And then other car got a flat tire and some trim damage, everyone was okay.
96 year old mother will have son use this as an excuse to have her not drive again. It happened to my 90 year old grandma, who lost her hearing due to an airbag going off after driving into a tree. She probably shouldn't be on the road, but it will be a sad time for her to learn this. 😢
Not gonna lie, the old people cant drive stereotype is mostly true, there have been tons of incidents of mostly old people either driving on two lanes, driving on the sidewalk, or just in general recklessly or carelessly driving, its not their fault, but at the same time it is, to combat it they should be required to take a driving test every 2 years after they turn 70 (test lasts about 30 minutes, should cost them $100+25 processing, not that expensive
Just had my accident yesterday. Was driving in the middle lane, a white car comes around on the left speed and SLAMS into the stopped black suv on the left lane with a family in it. The white car then spins out onto my lane and I had to hit the brakes to minimize damage as much as possible. If I didn’t react, the accident could’ve been way worse for the person in the white car. Have no idea what to do after this. Went through same process you did regarding the filing process.
I drive for fedex and i got backed into while i was in the back looking for a package. Driver wasnt paying attention while backing out of a spot. They were driving slow so nothing really happen but it does still startle you a lil bit when he hear a loud bang and the truck shakes

But you have to do have you have to do it wasn't your fault man, be safe out there you guys don't have an easy job but we would be screwed without all of you. Thanks
As a school bus driver even on a main street when you drop off kids and have your stop signs engaged both lanes have to come to a complete stop
@@thatonehispanic7982 and a lot of times cars on the other side of the streer think they dont need to stop, especially if is a street with a total of 4 lanes. I have a pick up and a drop off in a main street with 3 lanes on one side and 3 lanes on the other side of the street, and you have no idea how many people run off my stop sign, i gotta put my hand out the window and honk at them so they stop. I guess they think amber lights mean they should try to beat the stop sign.
Glad your Ok one of my teammates got Rear ended so hard his van was knocked off the road and over a Guardrail. Wish people would be more aware of what is going on on the road and being more careful. Stay Safe Chris
wow that's crazy. Be safe out there
Glad to see you okay Chris
Look on the bright side, the monetization this video will make, will always cheer you up forever.
Steps are DOT - you can block a lane for 15 min without any consequences, hopefully its the same in your state. Glad youre OK!
you're nicer than most people for sure.
Geez man. Glad you’re okay!
Thanks Stu!
Glad everyone was okay!
Your channel services me on occasion, but I know exactly where that is and yes, that area just stinks as far as traffic flow.
Wow, Glad you all were ok.
That lady was pretty awesome. Sad for her not to be able to drive anymore.
Glad you okay man!
Had someone rear ended me at a red light and then dipped when i was RTS'ing back to the station at the end of my shift.
Poor lady. Glad you're all okay
I feel that lady, my grandma was that around that age and soon got in a accident with a parked car. She thought it was moving. After that she lost her license and reused to got to the doctor. Later she died not because of the accident but it was her time 😢.
My grandma is 90 and still drives. She drives really well for her age but wants to give up driving after her license expires in 2027.
That old Avalon definitely kept her safe Glad everyone was OK.
Her having a flip phone was so cute😂❤. Poor lady she is to old for this I hope she finds her a friend 😢
She is 96 and still driving?? Need to be age limits to have a license.
Maybe there should be a mandatory course showing old people how to use an iPad to call for an Uber or Lyft. (If your license is taken away like this.) They are from a different generation and are left clueless, sadly.
@@fitybux4664here in Indiana, it’s take another test at 70, then every 3 years after
With how car dependent the US is, that’s not much of an option.
Yeah that's out of there own stubbornness @@fitybux4664
This is what I always think about when I’m sitting on the side of a busy road with cars flying by 😅
That step van durable as hell
Just another life experience for the log. Well done, Chris.
we just gain more and more as we go don't we
Probably why 96 year old citizens shouldn’t drive lol. Dang
Then fix your transportation system, you dont have any trains or buses
@@Paronak You must be pretty dumb we have trains and buses trains are less common but buses are in most cities.
And then other car got a flat tire and some trim damage, everyone was okay.
i am glad you are okay
96 year old mother will have son use this as an excuse to have her not drive again. It happened to my 90 year old grandma, who lost her hearing due to an airbag going off after driving into a tree. She probably shouldn't be on the road, but it will be a sad time for her to learn this. 😢
Chris i'm glad everyone is okay
same. Happy holidays Dylan!
We're all going to be that age some day. I hope that lady is okay to this day.
Man said he could’ve died man you got a big truck you going to be fine
The fact that she manage to hit two vehicle is crazy
We will all get there.
