More than a year ago, I was between buying Xiaomi 11 lite 5G NE or the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G. I finally chose the Xiaomi, and indeed it is an amazing phone. But since then, Xiaomi removed micro SD slot from the "lite" series, while in the meanwhile Samsung is constantly improving their mid range phones. If I was buying now, I would choose Samsung Galaxy A54 instead of Xiaomi 13 lite. I believe Xiaomi was for a long time the king 👑 in the mid class price of smartphones, but now Samsung has taken it's throne.
I "upgraded" to the A54 5g from an A52 since 4g no longer worked for me in the US with 3 different cell service companies. A52 is much more attractive. Smaller bezels, thinner, sleeker device. Even the less rounded corners of the device are more aesthetically pleasing. Matte plastic backing is better to deal with than A54's fingerprint magnet glass in my opinion. The A52 I have has call recording, which I love and miss!! But apparently that's an international phone feature. The battery life of the A52 was impressive as well. Onto the A54. After using it for a week, I've gotten used to the thick black all around the screen. All my other gripes above still stand. The battery runs down quicker and the back of the phone gets warm after prolonged usage. (Currently 88 degrees Fahrenheit) The only things I've found better with the A54 are the camera and video recorder. They are so much better than the A52's constant focus hunting when recording, grainy pictures in places like my living room, and when using in low light. I hope this helps someone.
I'm definitely buying this phone. It's great to see Samsung wanting to improve over last year. I would rather buy this over any Moto phone and the Pixel 6a.
I'm planning on buying it this april, I'll be able to give my 6 years phone a well deserved rest. I like the size since my hand is small, I don't do heavy gaming so I'm fine with the chipset.
Just purchased this phone and I like it. I also purchased a case and charger, I'm waiting for them to be delivered. I was able to charge the phone with my Chrome Book charger and the charging was fast. I agree, the phone does get hot when using it for a long period of time. Just bought this today for 320 usd including cover screen protector and a super charging brick. Before this I was using a52 for the past 2 and half years which I dropped and cracked the front screen but still works fine. Perfect for me for day to day use without breaking the bank
I've been waiting for this. I don't care about SOC (Don't play games) or camera. but the display and the battery sealed the deal for me, got the white one as a work phone. I wish the bezels were smaller. They're so horrendous i had to get the white one because of the silver outline that makes it look smaller than the black version; even though i strictly buy black phones. Plus, I don't think samsung could've guaranteed 4/5 years of os/sec updates with even faster charging...monthly security updates over fast charging any day, 10x more important IMHO.
I'm getting the a54 in white as well tmrw. I'm upgrading from a 3 year old a30s. I also don't care about processor that much since I don't play games, I'm usually on social media and RUclips so I do care a lot about great and vibrant displays. @@heatseeker3725 family member has an A51, am not crazy in saying they're HALF the size of the A54 bezels. they really wanted to differentiate it from the s23+

"After a less-than-stellar A53 last year" With all due respect, GSM Arena's review of the A53 still gave it a good 4/5 stars. So it obviously is stellar. Just not exceptional.
@@CharcharoExplorer Eh, that's just your mistaken view then. Stellar always has meant "like the stars", as in, extremely bright and having no match. It is meant as an extreme compliment. When people say "less than stellar" it could mean a number of things, but really you *should* mean "barely less than stellar" because otherwise you are not meaning much at all. To mean "average" by saying "less than the extremely bright" is kind of a zoomer (and quite stupid) thing. It's like applying a slippery slope to all relative measures and thereby destroying all nuances everywhere. It's one of the many ways that zoomers have butchered the English language.
@@zxbc1 English is my third language but I do read a lot of literature. In general, less-than-stellar is used to mean "average" at best. It is not used to say "awesome, 8.5/10".

I must admit you're not missing out on flagship phones at all. Samsung's mid range devices prove that. These phones have more than enough features to carry the average user for years. And luckily the Galaxy A series phones get at least 3 years of updates guaranteed
I held on to my S8 as long as I could. The phone was still performing well but could not be updated anymore. I could not use several of my financial sites by app until I upgraded to a newer phone. I read about the A-54, and it sounded like a great affordable phone. Bought it, hoping to work as well as the S-8 not expecting much more. Boy, was I surprised to find that it was leaps and bounds above my old phones performance in every category. Yes, I am happy I pulled the trigger on my A54❤
@farah4185 well yes jts way better but for battery the A12 last longer. But the A12 was honestly unusable which is why the battery takes a while to drain. If you can afford it I would suggest the S23fe it's like the same price but the A54 is better option.
Hey bro is this mobile is good no lagging and how it's performance in heavy game like PUBG mobile and is the mobile performance doesn't change till now as it is new?😊
For those who said that A52s is better. A54 have adaptive display refresh rate and 1000nits brightness. A54 have new Exynos 1380 5nm chip (which is new and still not optimized, that is the reason why performance are similar to SD 778G). A54 have UFS 3.1. A54 have new camera sensor which is better. A54 have a glass back instead of 'glasstic'.
The processor for the price is not value for money, s21fe is better if you use it on 60hz And it has lpddr4x Ram at 40k and thick bezels 1380 should been on the a34
A54 doesn't have UFS 3.1 storage. There are many conflicting reports, but it is UFS 2.2/2.1 as the benchmark shows storage speeds to be very similar to those with UFS 2.1 or 2.2 and nowhere near the speed of UFS 3.1.

A good phone but not for a heavy phone user, some cons : it lags alot, overheats, Also when it's at a certain temperature it won't charge because it thinks there's water in the charger port (even though it's water resistant) also battery drains very fast if you're a heavy phone user, be prepared to constantly charge your phone , get an iPhone or a high end device and save yourself the troubles of this A54

Hey bro is this mobile is good no lagging and how it's performance in heavy game like PUBG mobile and is the mobile performance doesn't change till now as it is new?
It's not bad overall, but people might be better off saving up an extra couple hundred bucks to go with the base S23 instead. It has the latest chipset and some of the newer flagship features. I just got a renewed S23 plus for $580, (the phone looks and feels brand new), which is a steal when they are going for $700 to $1,000 depending on where you buy.
Fun fact: the galaxy a34 which is a bit cheaper than the galaxy a54 actually performs better in everyday tasks and even heavy gaming while runing with a more stable fps and with better performance while the a54 falls back on performance and heats a bit more than the galaxy a34 despite it performing less better.
The a34 is essentially the same phone. Slightly older processor than the 54 but is optimized better. The big thing with the 34 is it lacks5g band n71. 71 band is a major 5G banned in the United States. N71 is the band that can penetrate walls. You still have one 5G band with the 34, but essentially it just gets good LTE speeds. I have a 54 and a 34. The 54 is my main phone and the 34 is my backup phone.
I will not buy Samsung as long as they don't include chargers. I hate that they got rid of IR blasters, headphone jacks, and SD card readers, too. It's all for greed, plus they follow just about whatever their leader, Apple does. The environment shit is an excuse. You could argue that you can get by without headphone jacks, SD card readers, etc. But a charger is absolutely essential! Most do not have a type C, 25 watt charger laying around to fit the cable included in the box. Samsung knows this and makes lots of money, because most Samsung lovers will still buy Samsung devices, no matter how much Samsung screws them over. Just like Apple lovers overpay for iPhones, even if the new model iPhone is the same darn thing with a new name. Like the iPhone 14 is just a rebranded iPhone 13. I will NOT let them screw me over. I demand a charger in the box, and I don't mean a crappy 5 watt one either. If everyone would stop giving in and buying their products like me, they would be forced to include chargers, headphone jacks, and SD card readers, again. Lastly, if they really cared about the environment so much, they would not even include the cable. They include a C to C cable so that you will buy a type C charger. The average consumer will think that you need a type C charger to go with the type C cable included in the box. Smh
Idk but these a5x phones seem to have gone downhill after a52s. Mediocre exynos chipset, no headphone jack and the charging is still slow compared to other brands. I wish they would just use the Snapdragon or even Dimensity chipsets on these.

5G hugs battery & has poorer coverage than 4G
Eh... Idk if you're blind or something... But this thing has a way higher screen to body ratio than the A52...

I'm planning on buying it this april, I'll be able to give my 6 years phone a well deserved rest. I like the size since my hand is small, I don't do heavy gaming so I'm fine with the chipset.

I don't take many pictures but I think the a54 will change that for me

"After a less-than-stellar A53 last year"
With all due respect, GSM Arena's review of the A53 still gave it a good 4/5 stars. So it obviously is stellar. Just not exceptional.
5/5 would be stellar. exceptional means a cut above the rest, so yes the a53 is indeed a cut above the rest, but not stellar
@@apolloxlix679 Normally when people say "less than stellar" they mean either average or even mediocre or kinda bad.
less than stellar is a nice way of saying average or bad.

I just got a renewed S23 plus for $580, (the phone looks and feels brand new), which is a steal when they are going for $700 to $1,000 depending on where you buy.

Are Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A54 two different phones or they're just the same with size and everything???
Smh
You said too much.. you can just say you dont like to buy it. Thats all.
Exactly, sadly most people wouldn't care and buy it anyways
For a first time phone which money is better spent, this Samsung A54 or a new iPhone SE?
