I just got the A54 after having the dinosaur J7 Crown for 6 years. To me it's a major upgrade, the phone is pretty quick and battery life is pretty premium. Overall I'm satisfied with it and hopefully will last me as long as the J7 i had.
Same girl same! I've been using the A6 for 5 or 6 years, and I am currently thinking about changing it to the A54. It is a huge development for me, haha! How is it? Edit : I am writing this edit comment on my A54 phone
@@kmj1459 me too, I still have my J7 Core and it has been brilliant, still nothing wrong with it, and going strong, but I am forced to change because it doesn't support 4 or 5G and all the providers are dropping using 3G shortly :(
@@MarneyTilleyAm sorry for your loss :( , am getting an Upgrade from my 3 year and half-year-old Samsung A10s 4G 32gb ( my VERY FIRST smartphone litterly as i was on a cellphone device previously ) to a Samsung A54 5G 256gb , as my Samsung A10s 4G 32gb had the storage space causing me really annoying overload issues and my battery pack ballooning up due to me visiting Social media sites alot ( it was during the Covid-19 Lockdown so i was stuck indoors with my phone only ) prompting me to have a switch up to the Samsung A54 5G 256gb series sadly , too soon in my book i know , but it was only because i needed to get a smartphone in HASTE that i ended up with my Samsung A10s 4G 32gb in the first place , hopefully my Samsung A54 5G 256gb last much longer then a measley 3 years 👨🍳💋 < Chef's Kiss
There really is no reason to buy flagships. Except for the folding phones in my umble opinion. That folding glass still amazes me. Yeah Im old af. Just got this A54. And a steamdeck. Best decision ever.
Exynos 1380 that is barely on par with the SD 778G that is already two years old. Mid range phones this year are going to be coming with SD 7+ Gen 2 or Dimensity 8000+ chips which obliterate it. The Exynos ain't a bad chip, but in 2023 and the price you're paying, you're getting shafted.
Most people who buy samsung don't care about raw performance and dimensity phones which are mostly in Chinese phones aren't sold as much in western countries. Also a series price drops fast.
@@frankreynolds9930 I can guarantee that the 7+ Gen 2 won't be lagging and stuttering after 6 months, unlike every Exynos chip made. That's more the reason to prefer them as much as the greater power
@@frankreynolds9930 yeah the price for the A54 will drop quick. It's gonna be hilarious if the A54s launches later in the year with SD 7+ Gen 2 (like the A52s and A52), then those that bought the current A54 might as well run head first into a wall. Remember how many people were pissed with the Exynos version of Samsung's flagships last year? These people will definitely care then.
@@parshakamarsh Well they have never made midrange exynos before with 4 performance cores. Most budget exynos everyone associate as slow didnt even have performance cores and were slow even new. So if 778 is considered fast enough then 1380 will do fine. Idiots who have never used also said that buying midrange android tablet instead of ipad is worse because it will get slow within a year. It didn't.
@@jules1568 Well A52s released with big price difference with a52 due to increase in performance. Even that was overpriced in the beginning. S23fe is more likely to be released with exynos 2300 chip than a54s with 7 Gen 2. Newer phone will always be better than older ones. There will always be some kind of regret. There will always be improvement in efficiency, speed, camera. S23 series looks great now but s24 will be better. But if older phones is working fine for you then no worries.
Bought it as my secondary phone with my s23 ultra being my primary. The A54 is absolutely brilliant and it gives me major flagship vibes. A solid powerhouse that is beautiful to boot. Gaming has been great but then again I don't play very heavy games. I have a Nintendo/Xbox for that. All in all, a great phone
@Lilly-hh9es It's actually very good. I'm not an expert nor am I much of a photographer but it's really very good and crisp as you can see in the video as well. If you're thinking about buying it then don't hesitate, you won't regret it. In fact, I'm thinking about buying another one just for the beautiful colors. I have Lime Green, I want to go for a Violet too 😄
Me also in the same track. S23 ultra as a primary using last 1 month now I brought this A54 256gigs Violet with a nice caseology case after my s21 ultra screen got damaged. Its a beautiful secondary device I have in my pocket. next year may replace it with s24 ultra or something else.
I got this phone a couple of months ago and I'm really happy with it, the only complain is that the flashlight randomly stops working and I have to reboot the phone to make it work again. I uninstalled as much bloatware as possible and that seems to have resolved the issue
Coming from the A53, the difference between that phone and the A54 is day & night! The A54 feels premium in my hand and the overall user experience as well! I have had the phone since 7 April and have not experienced any stutters or lags thus far. The camera snapper is way faster than the one on the A53 and even though both phones have 120hz refresh rate, the A54 just feels way smoother. I was disappointed in the A53 after an hour of opening it up but with the A54, I am very happy! I got the Lime colour and Samsung's clear case and the phone looks amazing!
I bought 2. One for me and one for my wife. The 256GB version. So far been brilliant. Thanks Tech Spurt, you are my go to reviewer! Ps, if anyone has a problem wishing to use a wired headphone, I just bought a dongle. No problemo!
Got the A52 5g two years ago. It was a cheap phone with a high refresh rate. However, you could really tell it was a mid range phone when I would occasionally use my S10 plus from 2019. I'm starting to prefer spending a lot of money on a premium S23 ultra that will stay fast for a few years over a mid range that shows its age after a year.
Coming from a poco shit phone x3 pro, Samsung a52s 5G is a fresh new start. Only problem now is my vibrate function aint working. Other than that, phone still rocks, camera all good, game performance smooth AF. Best purchase ever.
I just got the phone and so far I am loving everything about it. I Think it's a great phone if you don't use it 24/7 because it does give all basic necessities. I would recommend this phone.
I just bought this after considering the s23 , the difference in price is worth it as im getting almost the same experience because i dont play games on the phone so the performance is still great for usual stuff and the camera and the super fast charging is amazing . I'm happy i didn't get the s23 and saved 500 bucks.
I've had the A52 5g for a couple of years now which has been absolutely fine for me and I am due an upgrade now on my contract. My slight concern is how hot you said it felt after some general use. It's also a shame that they got rid of the headphone jack socket.. yes, I'm old school and actually use wired headphones on my A52 from time to time.
I wouldn't bother, battery life is crap coming from the A52.I can barely get a full day out of the A54 where as the A52 was nearly a couple of days even after 2 years of use.
@liamsmyth7594 Thanks for the info. Yep, a big downgrade on the battery life would be a major annoyance despite any other bells and whistles it has over the A52 5g if that's the case. I decided to go SIM only for the next year on my A52. I'll think about upgrading after that but until then, my phone does absolutely everything I need without any issues.
Play with the display nits I had that kid of trouble with my apple phones and when I reduce the screen brightness it wouldn’t get hot like it would ordinarily might do wonders for holding it while active
Bought an A54 for 350€ in monthly payments and, for that price, I'm pretty happy with it. Coming from a Redmi Note 10 Pro, the samsung sure feels faster and snappier. Portrait shots are great, and the software experience as been good. I mostly consume media, and don't play heavy games, so, in that regard, I'm pretty happy with it. The display is great and the speakers sound good. Battery is good to. The biggest con for me is the lack of the 3.5mm jack and not having a power brick in the box. Had to buy a new power supply and a sound dongle. But overall, a good all-round smartphone.
is it really that worth it? because im planning to buy it, and just like you the phone i have now here is Redmi Note 10 Pro... I am satisfied with the Note 10 pro, but it feels like it lacks something and part of me wants to upgrade a phone... Does the a54 5g also charge fast? as far as I know it has 25w charging, while the Redmi Note 10 pro has 33w, it has both 120hz and amoled display... can you tell the difference between the smoothness and clarity of the display of a54 5g vs the Note 10 Pro?
@@pakyu8650 I don't feel any difference in both charging speed and the display quality. But I have to say, after some time with it, for my specific use, If I could go back in time I would probabily put a little bit more money and go for the Poco F5. As I've been seeing some great promos on it.
Just got the a54 and I love it! The exynos is not bad at all had no issues with it so far. Games I played like ml or codm have been smooth. Thanks to your review one of the videos that helped me!
@narutouz105 I don't know for sure I'll play and get back to you, for the heating issues yes it heats up but not very much to the point that it causes lag. When it gets warm while I'm playing it's still not lagging. It doesn't heat up too hard
Hi I'm all the way from South Africa ...I always watch your videos when wanting to buy a phone ..and I'm glad I do ...I've decided to buy this phone ...
Elsewhere I've already written too much about my switch from the S20 5G to the A54 5G. So here after almost 3 weeks of intensive use: for what little the S23+ is actually better in everyday life, the price difference is hardly justified. Because the camera there is a bit better, but that hardly plays a role in everyday life. Their processor is much faster, but here too it is mainly the loading times, while there are no significant differences when playing, streaming or even surfing. And if the application does take 1/2 a second longer to start, who cares? In contrast, it really has EVERYTHING on board: 120Hz adaptive, 5G, eSim/Dualsim PLUS memory card extension, the same OneUI 5.1, a good camera & an excellent display with 403ppi & over 1000nits, a large battery & 5 years of support. And even the quality is good this year with Gorilla Glass front & back. So what's really missing? Samsung-Dex & USB-C 3.x, therefore no HDMI, 4K 60fps support including digital image stabilization (but it's included with 1080p - sufficient for everyday use). Yes, there are faster smartphones, but it's the overall package that counts & the A54 is pretty much alone with all its advantages. An S23+ is more than twice as expensive, but not even twice as good.
@@ЛеонМикер The S21 fe (like the S23+) is superior to the A54 in many areas. But: it's already 1 year old, so it will get a maximum of 3 more updates. It is currently a bit more expensive than the A54, and the memory card extension is missing. For me it would have been a better alternative, but I depend on the combination of eSim/Dualsim & memory card. And the S-Class last had something like that with the S20. Very unfortunate.. But it also applies to the S21 fe that you will only need the differences in everyday life very rarely. Ultimately, it depends on the owner's preferences.
@@svend.7324 Does the exynos processor bother you? many people write that after 1-2 years lags may begin .... and I also wanted to ask about the battery. From 100 to 0 percent battery manage to get about 8-9 hours SOT or less? (if not playing games). sorry for my bad english.
Couldn't agree more 👍 Most people complaining online about the phone don't even have one themselves. They just repeat the same bs they hear on the web.
@@АлексейБондаренко-м3э ...if in doubt, I only use the Google translator...😁 But to your question: it is clear to everyone that the Exynos processors are weaker than the Snapdragons. But my old S20 5G also had the Exynos - back then the 990s. Yes, it was also slower than the S20 in the USA. But in everyday life the S20 was fast, very fast in fact. And it's similar with the A54. The 1380 is a clear improvement over the 1280. And the coordination of Samsung's hardware and software is also completely ok with the A54. So no, I have absolutely nothing wrong with the 1380. The battery in the A54 is really good & the smartphone easily lasts me throughout the day - but since charging would take longer from almost 0 to 100%, I charge it at about 35% at the latest, then I'm somewhere after half an hour between 75 and 80%. I've never had the battery really empty in the 3 weeks during the day, although I'm currently using the smartphone intensively for almost 7 hours a day. So in that sense, the A54 is a very good smartphone.
The one thing that really bugs me about One UI is the horizontally scrolling apps tray, why can't they at least provide a toggle for those who prefer it vertical
@@yesyesufcurs7801 how do gestures work on One UI with Nova? I'm using Nova on a Pixel at the moment but gestures don't work properly on a lot of other phones

I've just purchased a 2nd hand but very clean A54 5g, to replace a very reliable a21s. I did buy the a33 but the 53/54 was slightly better spec, so for £129 I snapped 1 up, looking forward to receiving it next week. I also have the Honor 90 lite as a 2nd phone, so look forward to using them both soon.
Sometimes I don't understand why we are so hard on Samsung. They pre-install their applications which do almost the same things as those of Google, but they leave us the choice to choose and we can almost uninstall everything if we want. Just that Samsung wants to keep its identity and not pre Google. They promote their applications and their ecosystem. I really don't see what's wrong with that if they give us the choice... Bof, just thinking.
Exynos 1380 when comes to game is that this chip is using the Mali G68 which can be found in Mediatek 1080 which the A34 is using. If only they went ahead and uses a more powerful GPU like the Dimensity 7200 is using it would have been great
I know you are watching this review for this phone,so to all the people out there who want a brilliant midrange phone for under £255 it's the samsung galaxy a52s 5g, i bought it a while ago and i must say it still works as the same day I got it,read the reviews and judge for yourselves,in my view you are throwing money down the drain with this A54s phone (my friend bought one used it for a while then wished she saved her money, hope this helps if not no worries)❤😊
As someone that actually owns the phone and not just speaking out my ass like some of you guys, i have not had any performance issues at all, literally runs fine during all tasks including gaming
I still think it's crazy that people choose to play video games on their phone, like not only does it take up a lot of storage but it's not even as fun and smooth as playing on an actual game console, or PC. I'm not judging if anyone does play on phone, I just think it's a little strange that's all.
some people dont have consoles or a good pc . but evreyone have a phone and phone is a need to have in current days.also agree phone games are mostly worst experience
I bought a a52s 5g coming from I phone 8 and I'm very happy, just over two years old. Amoled screen high refresh rate 4g ram and 256 storage, not to mention the headphone jack and second sim/storage. Phone also fell out of car window at 40mph, and I did not realise until home, went back an hour later, and found it in the middle of freeway. Phone was completely intact and it simply would not charge. For roughly 300 euros at the time, I think is fantastic. Still super responsive and snappy. Just my opinion, of course.
After the second year you'll start to notice a bit of lag. I have the A51 and will be 3 years after I've purchased it XD (and boy how I have tormented this device) not trying to be a buzzkill, but something you should take in consideration, because of that Exynos chip
Got this phone with 256GB for my father coming from an old Honor 9 Lite 64GB. The main reasons were 5 years of updates keeping the required personal support for the then next phone low. Another reason was the support for two physical SIM cards, so my work with managing to switch to one eSIM was also non-existent. Apart from these two things all other stuff was also good or good enough and it fits my use case perfectly.
I have a A53, Im pretty happy, but the hige downside is the time it takes to openthe camera, both by opening the app and quick launch button. At least 4 seconds. So.many great moments missed die to that, infuriating. Its also pretty easy to overwhelm with multi tasks. Otherwise, perfect...oh and with no phone case, it still looks brand new after 6 months and God knows I am clumsy.
I'm saving to get this phone, but then I'm hearing the phone either have Just one sim space and an SD card together, or two dual sim space with no SD card slot.. Please can anyone clarify this
@Serifat Kadiri You can either use two sim cards with no sd card as the other sim takes sd card space,or use one sim card and a sd card. To be more specific, you can't use two sim cards and a sd card at the same time on this phone.
I'm saving to get this phone, but then I'm hearing the phone either have Just one sim space and an SD card together, or two dual sim space with no SD card slot.. Please can anyone clarify this
@@SerifatKadiri well it's been like this since last few generations of the A5x series. But A54 also has eSIM slot, so if one of your carriers supports it, you can have dual sim (Nano+eSIM) with micro SD card inserted as well. Cmiiw
@Helix Rai initially there was heating problem, like the phone gets heated while using camera and extensive use but not now. After the update the phone is running smoothly without any heating issue.
I couldn't take the battery life on the Flip 5 anymore, so I grabbed an A54 on sale from Amazon. Getting a solid 2.5 days out of a full charge, but I am not a 'power user' so ymmv.

Most people will know this but if you have accidentally turned on the photo motion mode you can go into the gallery after taking the photos. Then select the 3 dots and choose delete video clip & it reverts back to a normal high resolution photo. I was scared it might delete the whole photo so I backed up my holiday pix before doing this though.😂
Never mind all you gaming geeks...from a Granny that wants a great camera and big storage it sounds great compared to my last A21s ..I'm off to buy it now or very soon..any comments
You know what? This is not the best phone out there, but I really like it, as a Samsung fan, I don't hesitate to buy an A54 instead of a S23 Plus due to my uses of mostly RUclips amd social media and some photos ❤️
Yeah that's my thoughts, I can easily afford either but for my uses the a54 should be plenty. I play a few games and watch RUclips, TikTok, and Facebook. Plus I'm not sure about get a $500+ phone since I use unlocked phones without insurance.
I broke my Poco f3 (snapdragon 870) and now have the a54. The performance in general use is very close. I do notice the occasional stutter when scrolling RUclips but I think I had that with the Poco too. It's not the absolute best mid range out there, but as I drowned my poco I wanted fully waterproof, which isn't easy to come by in this price bracket. Battery life is amazing and I've already had an update which improved the overall performance, so hopefully more to come
Hi i turn away from Samsung A8 to Huawei 2i then 3i. I was disappointed with Samsung. Few of you have experience with both China phones and Samsung. Do you think it's time for me to come back to Samsung? From Redmi note pro...
Baffled by all the good comments. Was in store recently and the camera on the A54 was shocking, overprocessed to the point it made my hand look like I was 80 (I'm not). Every other phone was normal. The pictures in this review look OK so I don't get it
i ve been having this phone for almost 4 weeks..coming from a50(which is still good, still fast, i wanted to keep it for another year but my mom wanted it). i absolutely love it. it is sometimes a little laggy in some apps but i think with more updates this will be fast enough for a normal user (i don t do gaming). i wanted to stick to samsung because i was impressed by my a50, i never really felt like i needed an upgrade, but i just wanted a newer phone. cameras are the best in natural lighting, usually outside it captures the most beautiful details. front camera also good but i don t really like the hdr.this is my 3rd samsung phone, and i absolutely love the ui. i know that at this price i can get a better cpu,but there is just something about samsung phones thag give me confort. maybe my second choice would've been xiaomi, but i don t really like their ui.
Planning on switching from Realme. My current phone is giving me a headache by giving me tons of bloatware. Not a gamer you can say but I do play online games (sometimes). The question is, can this phone run a game to its max graphics? Like Pokemon Go and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang?
It's really a tough decision when you hate the xiaomi ui but would have to compromise a bit on the performance with a samsung phone. I'm still undecided as to whether my next phone will be a samsung, oneplus or a xiaomi midranger. I wish we had pixel phones in my country.
You won't belive me when i say this, i brought A50 4 years ago when it was first launched in 2019 but now i have S23 ultra also, but my brain and heart never let me get rid of A50. I can safely say, A50 is one of the GOATS in mobile world.
I thought about getting this over the 1+11 for 1/2 the price, my only thing I worry about is the chipset causing it to overheat and if it has a lot of compatibility in the U.S. I don't care for a lot of storage, wireless charging, or anything over 8GB ram.
@@dawsonpate7385 The a54 should be faster than my current Oneplus 7, so as long as it beats it in speed I'll be solid. Getting rid of my OP7 since the battery is done and phone is getting outdated.
@@fish4fun354 eh, it will vary by application. The exynos 1380 would sit slightly below the 855 plus. I recently got A54 after using Galaxy S22 for 2 years. The biggest downgrade for me is the camera. Images are more blurry and has more noice in dark area. Then I test out the download speed. A54 always win in downloading games or loading YT video. I dont know if my S22 's wifi is degrading. But it is losing to A54. YT HD video runs just as smooth and as sharp on A54. By default A54 has larger screen, so it is better watching experience for me. They both run games just as well. s22 does load game about 1 sec faster than A54 However for about 1 in 3 apps launching, A54 match S22. The 1/3 sec lag on other apps is really negligible once you get used to it. A surprising find. Tested in complete dark room, A54 flashlight shines pure white light while S22 shines slightly more yellow.
@elenedajan8136 none at all. I use the most recent Samsung 45W super fast charing charger. Zero issue. Haven't tested charging while gaming, which I'd never do in the first place.
Hmmm, love the design and colour choices. I guess if you are a camera/photo addict then pixel but wait and see what happens with the new releases and the prices of, let's face it, still recent pixel phones. On the other hand, if you want comfort in use and are used to Sammy, then choose the Sammy I guess. Their cameras are maybe better, it's the software post processing that Google has that helps. Oh balls I don't bloody know it's very close bit at least it ain't fruit versus Sammy alone anymore. Great review uncle Spurt but it's tough choice right 😀
Got this phone - great upgrade from my Motorola G7 power. Battery life not as good but it's a different beast. Not dropped it into the toilet yet but sure it will come out smelling of.... something 😉. Would agree with review. 256G version is the one to go for if you want years of fun...but is it worth £500?? Maybe with the earbuds. They were great 👍
I've had my A54 for over a year now and I've had no problems with it. Last Samsung I had was an S5 which put me off Samsung for a long time (so laggy). The A54 has changed my opinion on Samsung. Things which aren't really mentioned like call quality are much better then some of the Chinese phones ive had (Redmi). Plus 4 years of updates. I'm happy with it.
Thanks for the review. Crashing is an instant deal breaker. Must be the chipset underperforming on the hardware. But I guess they want to keep that price low.
Wait does the A54 crash ? If so I must ditch the decision to even buy this phone and it is my first purchase after 5 years of using One Plus 5...... so the phone better be good.
@@TheB657man, I was recording a 10 minute video for my youtube channel using the Samsung galaxy A53 5G. And boom!! It just crashed outta now where, all I was doing was recording a video. I lost the whole recording. And it wouldn't even upload videos to RUclips either. In the end I got sick of it, so I traded it in and went straight for an iPhone 14! This baby never crashes!
My A52 5g that i bought 2 years ago stop working !!!! Just last 2 years(now just keep restarting himself alone over and over again), i try everything and nothing worked to fixed. I got today the A54n, crossed fingers that lasts longer!
Not sure which one was it but M series phone had a quite higher SAR value comparing to similar A series phone. Probably Europe has more strict rules. I would stick with A series just for this reason.
Considering I've had my samsung J7 prime for 8yrs the A54 ought to be light yrs ahead of it. While the A54 might work for me it likely won't work for everyone. I dont play games etc on my phone. Calls, texting, photos, occasional video, email and commenting on YT is what I mainly use my phone for. I keep my phones for a looong time. I just ordered an A54 ($450 US) and it will be here next week. The fact that Samsung is giving 4 software updates and 5yrs of security updates means this will likely be a keeper for another 8yrs or so. My current phone is running android 8.1 there are certain apps I'd like to get but they only work on android 10 and higher LOL Just recently got a new router that is wifi 6 capable. My last router was 7 years old maybe older. Since a decent phone and routers cost a chunk of change I keep them for as long as i can. The old J7 prime is slowing dying so time for a new phone.
Might not suitable for those who crave for the best performance. But for its price, it's a better update from A53 and it'll be good enough for many people.
I finally bought an A54 and I love it. I came from having a Galaxy A12 which was perfectly fine when I first had it but then later on especially beginning this year it had gotten super slow and laggy. This A54 should be no problem for me for a long time hopefully cause I dont do damanding things but even the smallest functions on the A12 and it was struggling to perform those. So this should be way way way better and so far it is.
I don't think so. I'm from Europe, the A5 series is very popular. Most people don't even know a Pixel phone exists, even though it's available here. Samsung has way better marketing and is an established brand. I've just received A54 as my work phone. And it is actually really good. Yes, the Pixel has a better camera, but the A54 camera is surprisingly good as well. Performance is great for every day use. Display is amazing - 1000 nits 120Hz adaptive refresh rate (60 - 120, not LTPO). And a lot of people actually prefer the One UI over stock Android. I feel like Pixel is more for the enthusiasts than regular people, and those kind of phones tend to sell way less.

Ah I'm here for the same reason and no headphone jack? I'll keep looking...
No head phone jack, I'm using it now on my old galaxy as I see blue tooth as an option only.

Согласен.! как ты считаешь s 21 fe, ему конкурент.?????
@@АлексейБондаренко-м3э ...if in doubt, I only use the Google translator...😁
But to your question:
it is clear to everyone that the Exynos processors are weaker than the Snapdragons.
Just got my A54 today and I absolutely love the camera quality is amazing.

Got this phone with 256GB for my father coming from an old Honor 9 Lite 64GB. The main reasons were 5 years of updates keeping the required personal support for the then next phone low.
@@danielatlas7059 exactly! my sister has that phone still and i have yet to see a midrange samsung phone that's as good as that one was
@@hayyanalmemsani805 for those entire 4 years, i have not had any kinda repair on it. Can you believe? A50 is not a phone, IT'S A TANK.
We've just purchased these phones very pleased so far ❤👍👍
Me too! This is also my new midrange phone. Just bought samsung a54 5g yesterday and no regrets whatsoever. ❤❤❤❤❤

I thought about getting this over the 1+11 for 1/2 the price, my only thing I worry about is the chipset causing it to overheat and if it has a lot of compatibility in the U.S. I don't care for a lot of storage, wireless charging, or anything over 8GB ram.
The OnePlus 11 is nearly three tümes as fast as this phone
If u already thinking about the OnePlus 11 ur gonna be getting a huge downgrade for this. It is cheaper yes, but u do get what u pay for.
Overall it would probably be the same as the OnePlus 7 if not just a slight decrease performance wise (though if u would actually notice it is to be seen) . . . But I definitely wouldn't say its gonna be faster. Well . . . Maybe on par with the 855 since the 855 plus is the 7t
@@dawsonpate7385 I just do social media, TikTok, RUclips, and the only game I play on my phone is osrs (old school RuneScape) which is not very demanding.
I dropped my A54 like 10 meters note I had a cheap screen protector and small case, I dropped on the stairs and when I came to pick it up, only the screen screen protector got small crack in the corner, thought to myself "tis but a scratch"
Erik Ten Heg is really good at reviewing phones and managing ManU❤
also very good at conceding 7 goals from liverpool
Can we get some wireless charging features here ?
Everybody recommends Pixel 6a as alternative but it only have 60hz display.
Just got one of these phones hooked an xbox series x joypad up and played on game pass, the phone for been mid range is a fantastic phone, for what i use a phone for its more than enough for me
Camera and speakers are awesome
lol like your comments !!! Keep up the good work !!! Hi from Quebec Canada !!!
Just wondering how is it at making phone call and sending tx messages.. the last 2 reasons people buy phones for theses days lol
Mine's on the way from Am@zon, so I'm bloody relieved that your review was a good 'un.
Yes, there will be many shots of our cat (yours look adorable), and no doubt my fella will be constantly pinching my new phone to faff around with his videos. Ah well, c'est la bleedin' vie 😉!
They both run games just as well. s22 does load game about 1 sec faster than A54
However for about 1 in 3 apps launching, A54 match S22. The 1/3 sec lag on other apps is really negligible once you get used to it.
A surprising find. Tested in complete dark room, A54 flashlight shines pure white light while S22 shines slightly more yellow.
how was your experience? any heating issues?
@elenedajan8136 none at all. I use the most recent Samsung 45W super fast charing charger. Zero issue. Haven't tested charging while gaming, which I'd never do in the first place.
@@gameskyjumper1721 no heating issue for you? like browsing on yt or any soc. med? because im planning to buy
No other chinese phones can offer 4years of Android updates and 5 years of security updates. Im happy with my day to day use of my a54
Great review man! Does A54 out perform the A72 on chipset performance ?
Sure wish Samsung offered colours other than "awesome" graphite in Canada. The lime looks great (or awesome I guess).
Great review uncle Spurt but it's tough choice right 😀
"Oh balls I don't bloody know if it's very close bit"? I guess you have to be British to understand that sentence!
Would people get this or the Motorola Edge 30 Neo?
Got this phone - great upgrade from my Motorola G7 power. Battery life not as good but it's a different beast. Not dropped it into the toilet yet but sure it will come out smelling of.... something 😉. Would agree with review. 256G version is the one to go for if you want years of fun...but is it worth £500?? Maybe with the earbuds. They were great 👍

You have to many apps on the background that's why it's draining your battery
I've had my A54 for over a year now and I've had no problems with it. Last Samsung I had was an S5 which put me off Samsung for a long time (so laggy). The A54 has changed my opinion on Samsung. Things which aren't really mentioned like call quality are much better then some of the Chinese phones ive had (Redmi). Plus 4 years of updates. I'm happy with it.
It would be interesting to know which is the best phone in the 400-550€ market.
Iam pretty sure the Xiaomi 12 for example will blow this away.
Good luck with the updates! They'll be nearly non existent 😂
Won't be much security on the device either 😂lol
Dinging that notification bell from Kenya 🇰🇪🇰🇪🔥
I just hope Sammy will release A74 with a larger screen and SD chip+ 6000 batteries.
The M54 ain't bad at all.
They discontinued the A7x series :(
Not sure which one was it but M series phone had a quite higher SAR value comparing to similar A series phone. Probably Europe has more strict rules. I would stick with A series just for this reason.
@@FabianLanfold That was what I heard.... But you never know, SAMMY might revive it from the dead.
@@treeoflife7151 M series is very popular in India and I live its specs.
My current phone is running android 8.1 there are certain apps I'd like to get but they only work on android 10 and higher LOL
Just recently got a new router that is wifi 6 capable. My last router was 7 years old maybe older.
Since a decent phone and routers cost a chunk of change I keep them for as long as i can. The old J7 prime is slowing dying so time for a new phone.
Might not suitable for those who crave for the best performance. But for its price, it's a better update from A53 and it'll be good enough for many people.
why do u say its not good performance?
I finally bought an A54 and I love it. I came from having a Galaxy A12 which was perfectly fine when I first had it but then later on especially beginning this year it had gotten super slow and laggy. This A54 should be no problem for me for a long time hopefully cause I dont do damanding things but even the smallest functions on the A12 and it was struggling to perform those. So this should be way way way better and so far it is.
Same I had the a12 and upgraded to a a54 5g
@@Young-yp9xl did yours get Hella slow?
@@bricegraham8256 if u talking about the a12 yes my phone did get slow

They're going to struggle at this price point in countries where the 7a is available, surely?
totally agreed - I just picked up an imported A73 for 350 and it beats the A54 in every department. for less money.
I would've loved to buy one, if it wasn't slow. I went xiaomi to try something new this time
@@dopeatcod7Well if performance similar to a s10 isn't slow then I guess not
I don't think so.
@@andyhall7032The A73 doesn't beat the A54 in every department.
Screen, Cameras, Connectivity, Haptics and speakers are better on A54
Please wt do u recommend, A73 or A54?
Exynos chipset 💀
Performance is similar to 2 year old snapdragon 778.
After a52s these models have gone downhill. Stripped our features and added mediocre chipset
