I did almost 10 days worth of research before buying it on the very first day of launch here in India 24th March 2023. So watching this review on my Awesome Lime A54 5G. Must say that the design choice, the display , the primary optics and the user experice is simply AWESOME..😊

@@Lereevschalkwyk Well I am not sure of the exact material but it looks and feels metal. Certainly not plastic or chrome. Build is really good.
@@TechRight the good, the bad and the ugly about these phones nowadays is the AMOLED technology. I don't know why people are so obsessed with deep blacks, are they also obsessed with burn ins, green vertical lines and AMOLED short lifespan??
Also what's the use of praising a technology full of problems???

Honestly I would choose the a54 because of the 120 Hz, nice screen, decent processer, speed and speakers

I'm a Motorola Guy , but even I am impressed with what Samsung has done this year (I'm sure Carriers will offer the A54 and the A34 as deals, it's just waiting to see what specs carriers have vs the unlocked variant). Kudos to Samsung for impressing me this year! 😀👍🏻
What motorola do you use? I have only bad reviews regarding the Motorola #1 being they dont do software updates

@No_Name how is that a good thing? When you have a headphone jack, you have a choice between wired and wireless headphones but if it doesn't have a headphone jack, you have to use wireless headphones. I guess there are also type C headphones but you can't charge your phone while using them and that's a bad thing especially because this phone only does 25W charging.
@No_Name thing is I already have a decent pair of wired headphones which would just become usless as soon as I buy a phone that doesn't have a headphone jack.
I also have the S22 Ultra since I've been a Note user since the Note 3. My mom has been using the S9 the past 4 years and ordered the A54 for her to try out (coming this week). I which the premium S series still had the microSD card slot!

I'm probably the only person who doesn't like a glass back. All my devices go instantly in a case. So aluminum or plastic backs are perfectly fine for me. GREAT REVIEW, BTW.

I bought a Samsung A53 5G on Amazon Prime day last year for £249. Despite reviewers not liking it my A53 is an almost perfect phone. The only downside is a slightly slower CPU than Chinese phones at the same price point. Now with the A54 the CPU is 40% faster which makes the A54 a perfect phone. I get 5 years of security updates with means that the cost per year of a Samsung A53 or A54 phone is much less than any Chinese phone because no Chinese phone gets more than 2 years of security updates.
Got my a53 for 180 euros pretty good phone coming from iphone 12

Great video and lots of good info! I do agree with the list of cons and feel that there are better phones for the same price or even less. Based on your testing, did it have any lag(like how the a53 did for some)?

@@reys1381 honestly in that price range I'd either go for any of the new Pixels like the Pixel 7 or Pixel 6a (or wait for the 7a in a few months) or just get the a54... it's actually a decent device and doesn't have the issues the a53 did

Absolutely spot on with the cons, their are many other options you can spend and save money on the s21 will be a better option as well, and yes i know someone is going to be up the software support but the s21 or any flagship will always faster regardless if a new mid ranger has more software support. plus you're getting more features such as reverse wireless charging , samsung dex which are both outstanding features and wireless charging those features matter yall, great video!

This is usually what I think about these mid phones. But this year... these chipsets are fast enough that you will not notice a difference with performance for average daily tasks and they run games fine. The cameras are also good enough to compete with flagships that came out this year. Therefore the years of software support, battery life and flagship appearance makes the s21 too old... The midrangers are finally real options

There is that but if you go into the science you will realise even a brand new in the box s21 will not have the battery life it was released with it is sad to say but lithium ion batteries deteriorate significantly when sat on a shelf. If you add that with the problems older samsung phones have if it has been alowed to sink bellow 25percent charge while sat in the store the battery will have deteriorated to such a degree that it will swell and break the phone. With the 2-3 year old S21 still brand new in the box you will find its battery cappacity if checked properly will be only 75 percent of the at release battery capacity.

From someone who is not a tech expert and has had a OnePlus 7 for 4 years, would this be a reasonable choice to switch to? Aside from general day-to-day use, the most considerable use I give my phone is through photos and videos. Until then, I've always been satisfied with OP 7, so I wonder if this one maintains the quality at least.
This phone looks gorgeous, still have my A52 and still works wonderfully for me. Going to wait for an A55 to see if it will meet my demands, as I feel this phone rn doesn't feel like a massive upgrade. Although a good bonus for these phones is a 4-year software update, which is good for long-term use

@@ektarfagaming6411this is definitely better than the A51. The A52 has a snapdragon processor though so it's probably better than the A54 performance wise.

I believe the speakers are also powered by Dolby Atmos, it sounds kind of bassy and loud which I really like on a phone with this price range.
People keep saying the processor is bad but honestly I just don't see it. Apps open quick and everything runs as it should. I think the phone could use an update to be a bit smoother but for the most part it's not bad at all, this is coming for someone that used a pixel 7 pro 🤷♂️
4 years OS updates and 5 years security patches. Chinese smartphone makers really have some catching up to do because 2 years of OS updates and 3 years of security patches just isn't enough in 2023.
Got mine today. Runs much better than my old A32 5g. The speaker quality will never bother me when I got my airpods. Other than that the screen size and quality is great. Let alone the 6gb + ram and storage

I think at times people expect to much from phones. For someone who doesn't game, this phone is actually pretty good. If you're a heavy gamer complaining about the chipset in this device, buy a console. Xbox Series S is actually cheaper than this phone. Or.. by a flagship device. Otherwise, if you don't game this is a solid phone for the price. People like what they like.
You made a good point there, a phone with this kind of specs should not cost more than a console and yet it does. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad phone but it's too expensive for what it offers.
Nice phone 📱 highly recommend it...I got the S21 as well and can honestly say the A54 is Awesome!!! I hate that samsung is following Apple 🍎 with the no headphone jack and not being able to open the phone and change out the battery yourself still a great phone.. seriously thinking About selling my S21 and keep the A54 as my daily 📱
I have a few daily drivers and one of which, is this A54. It stops reading the Sim card once in a while. Tmobile and Metro sell it activated with eSim in store. But for those that need a physical Sim to be able to switch device, be aware that it may stop reading your Sims from time to time. At least that's the case on mine.
I never turn my phone brightness over 50% because I do not want to get image burn again. Had it very bad in the past on a super amoled screen. Could not imagine having 100% brightness on very long just thinking about getting image burn.

I recently get this phone, my first complain is thet battery drain to fast but i solved it by deactivating 5g,5g isnt avilable in Serbia so i dont lose anything, i reduce refresh rate to 60 to save battery life, battery last me longer now.
My previus phone was a32, a54 have a lot better camera i love ability to shot in 4k

I have this phone got it brand new and it does come with a charging cord it's hidden inside the box with the key to open the phone just need to but a block... over all I love this phone allot !!! I'm in London one Canada 🇨🇦 recommend this phone to anyone....
I just got mine today. The speakers are very good with bass, the vibrations are GREAT the screen is beautiful, Camara is great. I have to say I just love this phone as of now. Hopefully the 1380 will hold up well. But yeah if you pick-up this phone at a store or something you will have a hard time telling the difference between this and a flagship for sure.
Exynos 1380 is 4X performance and 4X efficient

Should have got the Pixel 6a or the 7 which is about the same price as the 54. Only difference is if you are not in the states. Hope you enjoy your purchase. 😊

Samsung are offering free galaxy buds 2 with an a54 or a34 purchase. This is in the UK im not sure abiut other markets. As far as I know this offer is still up so the headphone jack shouldn't be a problem if you get one now

Hello, So how do you think the Samsung a54G phone compares to the 2020 or 2021 Motorola Stylus G? Particularly regarding the Picture And Video Quality? Is the Samsung video and picture quality Noticaebly Better or Worse than the motorola? How does it compare for battery life while shooting Video and pictures? which is more "rugged/drop resistant? is ruggedness "noticeably different bewteen the cameras? I know the motorola I have has a metal frame. I don't want to "upgrade" to the Samsung if the Picture and Video quality is not as good or maybe not even if it is not Noticably Better... Have you noticed if it 1080 video good? As good as its 4k of course with the exception of "line detail?"

I am going to forever be spoiled by my S9 that im still using. Peak smartphone design imo.
That said, no 3.5mm jack and no charger on a mid range phone is a turn-off for me.
The exynos chip not so much as my S9 has an exynos chip. Still, i wanted to see a snapdragon 7 gen 2 in this thing. Would have been awesome.
Macro sensor is useless 99.99% of the time and aside from marketing bull i dont understand why is it everywhere in the budget segment.

My just got hers she loves it traded the a52 . The comments about buying good used are on sale phones are moot nobody is paying full price for this phone. An to get the deals on the pixels you have to upgrade your policy with your carrier

It may not be as good as some of the ones you stated but it has the main thing I want in a new phone, a Micro SD slot... I have a LOT of music in lossless and phones generally don't have enough of space for it all, or cost the earth to get that extra space. The only thing it's missing is a headphone jack but sadly that's a losing war... I don't believe there's any newish phones left that have both MicroSD and a Headphone jack. (And if anyone knows I'm wrong on that, feel free to correct me)

where do you get your lossless audios? I have an LG G7, and I have some lossless audio but most of the songs I listen to are just hq mp3s
@@duomaxx Mostly from physical media, CDs ripped losslessly, as well as most albums released in surround (Beatles, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull etc box sets) usually have high res stereo mixes included as well that can be ripped.
Otherwise, there's HDTracks, where I've gotten a handful of albums in Hi-Res as well.

@@KirstyReeve. I feel like they only put it on budget/mid tier phones because they figure they can't convince the 'poor' people to upsell for space, but someone rich enough for a 1000 dollar phone can pay an extra 100-200 dollars for a pittance of extra space.

I have an a 54 and I can't hook up a portable monitor 2 mirror from the phone to the monitor I have tried everything I don't have Wi-Fi but I was told I don't necessarily need it how can I get my Samsung Galaxy a54 to mirror to the portable monitor thank you

You have very good video but i like only samsung mid range serious first i buy samsung a5 2015 next year 5 2016 then a5 2017 then a50 a51 a52 a52s a53 and now i have samsung a54 its very beautiful design and good looking performance also very better then a53

The Macro Sensor should be replaced with another feature, spec, etc.
It's not a flagship, but it is close and it has much better battery life than the flagships. That is my main problem with the S23 is that it drains its battery down by the end of the day, and that's with a brand new battery. What's it going to be like in a few years? The Exynos chip is not nearly as good as the 8 Gen 2 chip, but it also doesn't drain the battery as fast either.

i bought a cheap $8.00 pair of bluetooth headphones that i use with all my cellphones and they work fine.
It's simple.. if u have an A52s or A53 just wait for A55. Otherwise if u have lower than these two devices i recommend u to get the A54! U'll love the great looks and other pros of it. 😊

I have the A52s bought almost 2 years ago. Still really quick. I think the A52s still has a faster chip than the A54? its probaly the best phone i had.
I got an A52 and still works well, while I love the design of these phones, I have no desire to upgrade it this year, going to wait for the a55 to see if it's worth it and if my phone doesn't meet my requirements.
Defo can tell audio is very good

Hi great video! I'm still torn between the A54 and A34. Give me your honest opinion on dimensity 1080 chip set. I'm not a gamer or heavy camera user. And both devices seem to have very similar specs. Would just like your opinion on which you'd think would be a better choice. Want a device that would last beyond 2 years. I have an A50 now got it in 2019 but it's giving me so many problems so I need a new device. Would like to hear your opinion. Thanks!!

Aside from that, it's a great phone.
The dimensity seems to be slightly better than the exynos, the camera on the a34 is sloghtly worse compared to the one on the a54.
in romania the a54 costs 506 euros and the galaxy s22 is 587 i dont think its worth it

Performance wise the FE. The battery life seems to be better on the A54 though and it has an SD card slot. Really comes down to what you're looking for in a phone.

I like the Galaxy A54 from what I've read about it and from the reviews done on it but I would not buy it because it has no wireless charging. Hopefully Samsung will include wireless charging on the Galaxy A55.

@Thesweetlifeofaplannergirl Well it may take a bit longer on a wireless charger instead of using a USB-C cord to charge your smartphone, but at least you won't be plugging and unplugging a USB-C cord which can wear out or worse break the phones USB-C port.

get A54, Samsung never disappoint for cameras and it has 4 years of major Android updates instead of Xiaomi's 2
I know everyone was optimistic that the new Exynos 1380 would be better than last year's 1280 in the A53. But that said, Exynos equals laggy and slow. I have commented that in many videos that everyone should be prepared to be disappointed. It's crazy that in the year 2023 that Samsung is still using their worst performing chipset in a phone that price at $450. The Pixel 7 is currently $449 on the Google Store and Amazon and for that price, it'll easily defeat the A54.
The Tensor is based on Exynos too.
Bought it today as a second phone... For 300euros,free charger in official store, It's on sale. And 5 years of support🤷🏻♂️Great looking phone...and new exynos is not bad at all👍
Yeah these tech reviewers kept talking about how much better the Exynos processor in the a54 was than last year on geekbench scores. But sometimes scores don't tell the whole story if the chipset isn't very well optimized. Exynos chipsets haven't been stable or reliable. Samsung should really just discontinue the Exynos chips and stick with Snapdragon or mediatek dimensity.
They havent made exynos with 4+4 cores in the past. Either its only 2 performance cores, 0 or even X1, mongoose cores in flagship which are way power hungry. So not every exynos is same.

Anyone having problems connecting to their mobile data with this phone😢 help please tried most of the suggestions on youtube thus far.
Tested a A54 yesterday at my electronic store, liked everything except one thing. The edges on backsides feelt sharp like the iPhone 12 and forwards, that was a big disappointment 🤥. This made me disqualify A54 for a replacement for my pixel.

You forgot to mention that in order to get the pixel deals you'll have to activate your that phone. Unlocked those phones are more than the a54
Nah, they are on amazon unlocked for less and the same price. You don't have to activate anything.
They at least could've put a SD or an old Flagship Exynos chip! 1380 is just a deal breaker at this price

For tech user it is but for people who doesnt need a gaming phone it will be alright. Not to mention, 1380 is their latest chipset.
