Cleetus is a truly gifted racer…anything he gets in he runs with the best of them. Ran the first GM stick car in the 7’s, runs right up there wish NASCAR guys on an oval, keeps up on a dirt track, runs with the best in a drift car, or a trophy truck, or a jet boat. It’s absolutely unbelievable. There’s certainly people better at one specific thing than he is, who’ve done it for years and years, but I defy you to show me someone who can get just get in something and pick it up as quickly as he can. Absolutely unbelievable. When I first started watching, around the time cleetus put Leroy in the 7’s, It was because I think drag racing is more of a demonstration of who can build the best driveline, less a demonstration of whos a better driver, but watching cleetus drive a bunch of different disciplines, I’ve learned that he’s truly a gifted driver if anything you put him in.
Travis Pastrona is probably the only other guy i would compare Cleet to tbh. And Travis is a bit more "professional" than Cleet is so even that isnt the fairest comparison lol

The navigational hand was top-notch, it looked like one of those directional arrows at the top of a video game screen
I love a good co driver, that was excellent help.
@Flicks Exactly, same with the double hand down and forward meaning punch it.
I was following right away.
Cleetus will end up being part of the core crew that revives grassroots racing of all types, his crew Jack Stand, Vaughan and Whatnot, showing there's tons of various racing styles and events to waych or compete in.

I gotta say mad props for working through the love of cars knowing just about everything is tight to fit in.
This is by and far one of the best sporting events I’ve ever seen. Really hope to see more of this on Cleeters channel. This sport deserves so much more recognition.
So exiting!!
These races used to be on TV a couple times a year but haven't seen one for many years . Anybody else remember Wide,Wide World of Sports ?
These and swamp buggy racing.
I have MAVTV on Directv and they have these boats and swamp buggy shows. That channel shows all types of racing.
@@sarge436 ; Ahhh ,yes ,swamp buggies . I did see a brief article on TV about a year ago. It was more of a weird things in motor sports show than a coverage of a race though .

I remember watching swamp buggy racing almost every weekend when I was a kid. I'm pretty sure it was on TNN channel.
Spence absolutely killed it as a navigator. Props to that guy!
Even watching these runs in POV makes my heart pump faster in excitement! What an amazing sport! Love to see more of it
Dude I don't think we give Garrett enough respect on his driving skills no matter what that kid hops in he's one of the top qualifiers almost on any sport he's done the kid could drive damn all respect man
Agreed I think next he needs to try road course or even Street bikes
What, that Long Beach truck race where he nearly won wasn't a road course? :)
I somehow think maybe Maddie might draw the line on them bikes, but what do I know...
@@rcaddict7638 street bikes are cool and all... but let's keep our man safe. Hate to see anything happen
Land Sea and Air. Only thing left is Space.
What was that line from the movie with Tom Cruse...."They put me in the car and I could just drive" or something along those lines. Garrett is absolutely a natural. Just think he could have been just another Lawyer.
From driving straight lines down the drag strip to circles in boats. Cleet killed the driving. Spence pick up the course quick. Crazy for their first time. I’d be so lost it all looks the same either way you turn.
Cleet also had to memorize the course too, and spicy spence is used as a backup primarily. still awesome content though, this was fun to watch. next build on the channel is one of these jet boat sprinters lol
I didn't no he knew how to turn right 😂😂
yeah I am the same way with just visual memory, but luckily those corners don't feel the same so you really build up that knowledge as you run it pretty quick.
So true‼️
Cleeter walking around with the helmet cam on is like the POV of a skyscraper walking through a crowd lol

I used to LOVE watching these guys race when I was a kid!! Seriously the most crazy racing on water as far as I’m concerned. Nice work, boys! Especially Spence! He never let you down on direction.
Go after that trophy, boys! The team & you two killed it!!!
Spicey Spence was the man out there. That last qualifying run point left with 2 fingers so you knew 2 lefts. That's awesome.
It's like when he was born, he came out with a helmet and race suit already on...lol
Travis Pastrona is probably the only other guy i would compare Cleet to tbh.
And Travis is a bit more "professional" than Cleet is so even that isnt the fairest comparison lol
So true !
@@Khaynizzle7 funny you mention him because I’m catching young pastrana vibes. That dudes a legend- could be another one in the making…. Just with less broken bones and hopefully keeps it that way. Travis is a psycho who will go full send on virtually anything if the challenge arises.
Yep I think old Cleetus is one of the best drivers on the planet. He rips and I mean rips everything he gets in. Also we'll done Spicey Spence for your navigation skills.
Spence did a fantastic job of co-piloting and guiding you through the turns. You both deserve so many accolades for learning this very tough sport so fast.
Thanks for keeping us fully entertained Cleeter. Love that you constantly try new things and branch out what the team is doing. NEVER a dull moment.
Everything Cleeter drives, he is 110% balls to the wall, I love it.
What a wholesome scene. Not the races, but when crowds cheering for Cleet, even though he's new in this scene, it's like he's a legend in this. And also i love how fast Cleet can make the community loves him. When he said this might be his new favourite thing, i can confirm that cuz he good at it!
Scam bullshit
That's just insane, for a first time driver, who literally qualified for his race license that same day, to put up the fastest time of the day in the class! And that wasn't even some "new rookie racer" class!
Love how the commentator knows what’s up and is referring to them as McFarland Marine😂

It was so exciting to announce cleetus. I spent a good amount of time telling all the racers cleets back story. To hear my voice in one of his videos was amazing. Been a fan since day 1.
I've watched all kinds of racing and nothing has gripped me like that, I was trying to make the turns on my couch! Great work Cleeter and Spence!
Imagine spending years of time and hundreds of thousands of dollars on a sport just for Cleetus to roll in on fumes in a borrowed car and casually hand it to you on his first try.
Cleet is a very skilled driver! He did amazing and it wouldn’t be the first time he shines on a new sport! Remember the stadium trucks!

Cleetus going around and driving in all kinds of races could be a whole TV show. And I’m here for it.
Would be? It already is!
If it was on TV they would have to add a bunch of cheezy fake drama, slow motion angle grinder shots, and they probably wouldn't let him keep in the more nerdy motorsports details to dum it down for the average idiot to enjoy.

Cleet never disappoints, the fact that he can come in as a complete newb an go out an run the fastest time for his class Is absolutely insane. That giraffe has some serious talent.
Yeah for sure, but one thing that made him fast as well is the fact that he is a noob, he's never experienced a bad crash in one of those so he was really pushing it.

Ol'Cleet is the real Stig. I know you have driven jet boats, but to go out with little to no experience and put down the fastest lap in the field... just WOW. That is a huge learning curve. I just don't know what to say. WOW

Right now Cleeter is plugging up the storm drains at the freedom factory so he can host a jet boat race like this, I'm certain.
He has a nice big field sitting empty at the track would not surprise me if he is looking for a motorsport to fill it
