ABOUT KIM'S CONVENIENCE:
"Kim's Convenience" depicts a Korean Canadian Kim family that runs a convenience store in the Moss Park neighbourhood of Toronto: parents "Appa" (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee) and "Umma" (Jean Yoon) - Korean for dad and mom, respectively - along with their daughter Janet (Andrea Bang) and estranged son Jung (Simu Liu). Other characters include Jung's friend and coworker Kimchee (Andrew Phung) and his manager Shannon (Nicole Power). The series is based on Ins Choi's 2011 play of the same name. Mr. and Mrs. Kim have worked hard to give their now-twenty-something children, Janet and Jung, a better life in Canada. This comedy finds laughter in the trials of running a literal 'Mom and Pop' shop while raising kids in a culture not quite your own.

It's a satirical TV show
That guy was the one who was sensitive, Mr. Kim was polite and he did not even discriminate or kicking them out the store. He was just doing his work and expressed how much he hated the idea of parade it self.
What's scary is that there are people like that guy in real life.

I’m half Korean and this scene completely sold me on watching this show. Mr. Kim reminds me of my dad’s side of the family COMPLETELY and I can’t stop laughing at the accent and mannerisms because of how familiar they are to me 😂.
I used to work in a store that was on a street that had events every month. Craft fairs, parades, marathons, and you think it would be good for business. It wasn’t. People completely blocked the sidewalk with loud music, set up camp in front of the door, there were paper cups all over the store front, trash on the ground, people leaning against the window, and there were almost no sales that day. I now understand why the store next door just closed until the event was over.
He isn't even on the street where the parade is...

I haven’t ever seen this show but if that black guy is a reoccurring character then I really hope he gets what’s coming to him, Kim didn’t say anything wrong. He simply doesn’t like loud parades. But I agree with his point on being Korean (a minority) keeping to themselves and not shoving that very obvious fact in other people's faces. There's plenty other minorities that do the same.

I have to say...I am very thankful for the "best Canadian shows" lists, I would never have found this great series without them! This is one of the best "sitcoms" that I have seen in years! I've been binge watching on the weekends for 2 weeks...and think this show deserved far more than only 5 seasons! If you are looking at this, then I hope you will take the time to watch this series...You will not be disappointed!

Ok, I just finished watching the final season, there is no way the show can end like this! I mean seriously! They all walk out if the store at the end ? Shannon and Jung break up!?!? What the hell kinda ending is this, you must bring the show back. We need to sign a petition to bring it back and give the Koreans playing the characters full writing access.
I'm so mad, this was the best show on TV.
Well you spoiled the ending for me but I was purposely not watching the final ep so it doesn’t feel like it’s over. I hope Shang Chi’s success makes Netflix think about picking up the series itself to capitalize on Simu Liu. He said he wanted the show to continue so we can see his character grow and to see Appa and Jung grow back together.
